Thank you sister nice content,l always follow everything you post
Sadza is common word used in in zim but l understand why people are not happy when you are using it,its because 'isitshwala' is undermined you never hear them using it even for 1 second its us who are always are accomodating them by compromising our language which is our identity
But that is not the purpose of this wonderful video, thanks sister.

I am Zimbabwean and both gluten and lactose intolerant. Some Zimbo’s are gluten intolerant and may not be aware of it.

Yes It’s possible that some people are not aware of it. I only know of Zimbos that live abroad and don’t know of any that have always lived in Zimbabwe that’s are, but like you are saying it’s possible they might not be aware of it.

Zimbabwean cuisine, not African cuisine. Don't get me started on people talking about Africa as a country 😅

@@yoveeditors5502kkk that’s true, funny thing is,it comes from someone without a channel, they just want to make anything and everything tribal, then they want to start correcting and teaching the owner of the channnel & out of all the minutes watched they study and look for something negative to say , if they find nothing, they then create something fictitious in their minds,to say you have disrespected this tribe or that tribe, just to create division. So you just have to become the bigger person and just accommodate any overzealous thing coming with all sorts of ideas🤦🏽‍♂️

Bulawayo is also home to many diverse cultures today, including Shona people-some of whom are in my family. I use Sadza and Isitshwala interchangeably and I don’t need to justify using the word Sadza in Bulawayo. There’s no need to dwell on small differences or fuel unnecessary tribalism. Let’s celebrate what brings us together rather than focusing on what separates us. Just chill. 😆

@@oliviapope3849But you cannot say isitshwala anywhere in the country you are seen as a foreigner,we are the ones who always and should compromise.why??

Thanks for your comment and for sharing your thoughts. I want to clarify that I am Ndebele/Venda with Shona and Swati family, and in our home, we use the terms Sadza or Isitshwala. We never refer to it as Pap, which is actually more common in South Africa." Pap" is infact Afrikaans, a word taken from Dutch and means merely "porridge". Isitshwala and Sadza are interchangeable for many of us in Bulawayo, and we understand them as the same traditional dish made from maize or sorghum.
It's important to recognize the diversity in how people use these terms within our communities, as language and food often overlap across cultures. There's no need to create divisions over something we all know and love. Whether you call it Sadza, Isitshwala, or something else, we are all celebrating our heritage. Let's focus on unity rather than emphasizing small differences. Much love and respect 🙏🏾
