To pay another $1400.00 to $1500.00 for only 4 extra miles seems pretty insane to me. On the other hand, if you haven't bought an Emove yet, I can see why someone would want to purchase a new one. Also, Chuck or Paul, I think you need to retitle this video. An adrenaline junkie or someone who simply likes to go fast, will not find 30 MPH fast enough. A better title would be "The Only Scooter The Average Commuter Will Ever Need" or The Only Scooter Most People Will Ever Need." A bit more accurate in my opinion.
Chuck, it's outrageous that Voro charges $89.00 to install a thumb throttle instead of a trigger throttle. Why the industry settled on the trigger throttle being the standard throttle is beyond me. The thumb throttle is more ergonomic and safer in my opinion. There's a reason why Weped & Rion use thumb throttles for their fastest scooters. It's simply safer. I wish you would contact Voro Motors about this.
The use of trigger throttles being the standard, the use of tubed tires still being the standard(Apollo) and the continued use of tires smaller than 10 inches are my biggest gripes with the industry.

I don’t think it’s worth it, there’s nothing revolutionary (except maybe the strong waterproof rating) that can reasonably justify the $3500 USD price tag. But that’s my opinion, without riding it for myself I can’t say for sure.

Blogs on reddit are full of unhappy customers, terrible customer service etc. As someone who now is at his 4th e-scooter, I'd love to hear about durability, reliability of various scooters after a year and even 2. Would love a special post from you guys on this.

I've spent probably 30 hours researching every model top to bottom features power price etc etc etc..... what tipped me to purchase this Emove cruiser was the fact they raised the constant power which increased top speed and the tubeless tires that was 10" and its a nice kicker that one if THE most important parts (the battery) is a name brand high end cell. That peace of mind is great. Love my cruiser

As much as I love my 2021 Cruiser, there are still some issues with the rear brace bolt threads and the bolts in the front folding hinge; one of the most vital bolts in the folding hinge on mine literally snapped in half and can't be ridden until it's replaced. I also had some threads rip out entirely from the rear brace where the shock absorbers connect, forcing me to replace the bolt with a longer one, plus a low profile nut, and all of this happened before I even reached 1000km on my odometer. Voro need to address some of the issues around the quality of materials here. I still love my Cruiser, but in the short time I've owned it, I've had to replace several important components, and getting hold of a replacement rear brace hasn't been at all possible.

I've owned a cruiser for 6 months and today it went out with the weekly trash pick up.... Serious stem wobble, worthless bolts... Storage case and rear fender both snapped off. No, I'm not off roading. Las Vegas street riding. Hit the occasional puddle or want to clean it? Don't! Controller gets a drop of water on it and you go nowhere for a day. I've had water reset my settings, turn the scooter off when applying brakes, lose cruise control, and the best was the motor turning while at a stop. Lemme see, what else.. oh yeah the brake light wire under the rear fender will get damaged from raod debris. If one of the 3 wires inside the cable gets knocked then the scooter shuts off. Please spend your hard earned money on another scooter. And whatever you do, don't buy from voro motors. July 8 I bought a wolf warrior 11. Was told I had the last one in stock. A week later they say it'll be 6-8 weeks. After 8 weeks ( aug 6th ish) I'm told it'll be oct/nov.... Voro motors and Emove Cruiser are both completely and entirely worthless

For me this is almost the perfect scooter, as a Uk resident where weather and road quality is poor the ip rating and tubeless tyres are a big plus. Only worry I would have is the sheer amount of maintenance due to all the bolts this thing has that I have heard come loose and need to be checked regularly. The cruiser really is missing decent front lighting and indicators. There is a break light on the back fender so the deck corner break lights don’t need to be there with a tiny orange blinker u can’t see. They need to Make the whole light fitting orange and use a brighter light inside. Front deck lighting is great but they should be building into the scooter a higher mounted more powerful front light and installing indicators on the front ideally on the handlebars (I mean the rental companies have already done this to theirs to appease safety concerns so why isn’t emove and the other manufacturers copying this to work against the negative points anti scooter ppl point out to governments as reasons to ban them) The other issue is this upping of power and top speed arms race every scooter manufacturer seems to be getting involved in. In Europe at least most countries dictate a watts limit and a speed limit of 15.5mph which could render the cruiser illegal in most countries! So love the scooter but is it overkill if you end up limited to 15.5mph 🤷‍♀️ on the other hand at that speed the range would be epic! 😂

    • @thedejectedape953
      @thedejectedape953 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

I honestly think we are less safe in the EU with those regulations because then we can't keep with traffic flow and we are viewed by drivers as an obstacle rather than just another road user.
Seeing as cars kill the vast majority of people who die on our roads, more cars overtaking you = more danger.
Those watt limits also make them less usable to a lower number of people because if you intend to use them in hilly areas, windy weather, are a heavier person or intend to use it for shopping trips then the low watt motors just won't be capable of carrying the weight or fighting gravity/the wind.
Weak motors can also cause you to suddenly and drastically slow down when you and/or other road users aren't expecting it creating dangerous situations.
I honestly believe EU regulators are handicapping light, affordable EV tech on purpose to appease the oil, bike and car lobbies... so I for one will happily be ignoring those laws.
The correct approach to legislation is much like what we have done with cars - training riders, testing and licensing them.
I have no idea why regulators are now suddenly trying to reinvent the wheel when we already know how to reduce deaths.
You train the person how to be safe at reasonable speeds, not limit them to speeds lower than bicycles or equal to running speeds.
These are motor driven vehicles that we should want to replace combustion vehicles with, we cannot do that if regulations make a regular bicycle + car combo a more attractive option.

    • @e-scooterguy
      @e-scooterguy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@thedejectedape953 don’t get me wrong I agree with all you just said, I think 15.5mph is too low, at that speed normal bike and ebike users will get annoyed having to go around you aswell! Ideally I would like to see at least 20mph the top limit in line with the lowest speed limit not just for scooters but ebike assistance cut out aswell for any bike line, cycle way or road with a 1000 watt limit. Anything with more power should be treated like a car and require a rider to use only the road, have a licence, register etc. if u have to go further in this bracket and demand minimum tyre size, suspension, certain level lighting etc then so be it.
Getting to the point where so many scooters that go over 15.5mph are being sold that even if that speed limit was made law 1000’s of ppl per year would still ride their powerful stuff anyway, they broke rules now so they will continue to! Longer the Uk government wait to legalise and have this sorted the bigger the problem they are creating for themselves. Most of us can’t afford an electric car even used so car manufacturers going all electric won’t mean as much effect on our climate, the PEV is the solution for the masses to ditch their combustion vehicle like it or not 🤷‍♀️

This is one of my considerations for a second scooter. My personal preference would be to delete the low spotlight in favor of stem and under deck lighting, just to be seen. Then i would add a bar spot/flood light with real lumens for the road ahead. Turn signals are nice but i wouldn’t count on a car seeing my signals, daytime is too bright and nighttime in nyc they’ll get lost in the plethora of lights everywhere. Plus needing to turn off the distracting signal beeping is unnecessary as it could turn off automatically after say 5 times. Safer to just wait for a clearance to turn. 59 lbs is a little heavy to carry up two flights. I would like two built-in trolley wheels at the front of the deck to avoid the unfolding or full weight carrying between flights of stairs. Thanks for the review, it is still a favorite next scooter for so many good reasons.

This scooter is almost the same thing as the evercross. A few more features and a slightly bigger motor. I completely agree with you about the turn signals. You have to understand the limitations of these scooters. I usually stay to the right and look over my shoulder and move when it’s clear. And let’s not forget, in NYshity, your turn signals actually work against you. People behind you see the signal and speed up so you can’t get in. 😂😂😂

The EMOVE Cruiser looks very similar to the Bezior S1 (1,000W) - I'm fortunate enough to have one. In a word - GREAT! Must say; I stepped-down the battery output resulting in 25kph max (for both safety and legal reasons [here in Ireland - they'll be road legal later this year]) - besides, 25kph is perfectly adequate for commuting, imho. I've had my cruiser for about a month and have yet to get 400km total on the thing but I've already gotten a flat front tire and lost one of the nuts on the front axle, which fell off somewhere mid-ride on my way to pick up some locktite to fix the constantly-loosening axle nuts (irony at it's finest). And its ~80$CAD for shipping on anything through Voro motors (I live in NB Canada) and I wasn't prepared to spend 100$ total on a replacement nut so I went down to the hardware store and found myself some uncapped nuts (for 2$ btw) and put that on, I've got mismatched axle nuts now but whatever, literally cost 1/50 of what it would have through Voro. Same thing with tire sealant, I had to find some for myself or else it would have cost 120$CAD to order through Voro.
I wish I had known that locktite and tire sealent are *****REQUIRED***** for owning an electric scooter, having those 2 things would have saved me alot of the headaches i've had with this scooter. Maybe it's just me, but I've spent 2350$CAD on my scooter and I would like it to be useable with what comes in the box. Why can't scooters come with a little bottle of them, it makes no sense to me.
When it's running though, the scooter is awesome. I bought it for it's stellar range/IPX6 rating/45km/h top speed and in my sleepy little town, the key-lock is all the anti-theft I need for most of my rides so it's really convenient for me as well. When I'm actually able to ride the scooter and I'm not worried about the thing falling apart and literally killing me mid-ride, It's an absolute blast.

Completely disregard the waterproof rating. Treat this scooter like it's IPX4 (splashes of water). I've disassembled this scooter and trust me, it is not anywhere near the IPX6 rating they claim on their website, or the "IP67" rating - they lie and say they have an "actual lab testing cert" for IP67, which would mean submerging the entire scooter in 1m deep water for 30 mins, which is obviously not possible. This claim is in the comments for your Cruiser video from last year if you're curious.

Not sure if the loss of 3 miles of range is worth an average of 1mph faster speeds. To be honest, I really don't think Emove Cruiser owners care that much about speed. 25-27mph is just fine in my opinion and the primary reason for buying a Cruiser is RANGE, RANGE, RANGE. So, the fact that it gets less range is disappointing.

I own an Emove Cruiser and would love to have the extra speed. I'm not going to upgrade for it, but do realize that it's probably closer to a 5 mph difference at top speed. I'm not a small guy, so my cruiser only goes about 24 mph as a top speed on a long straightaway with 75%+ battery left and can't sustain much more than 20-21mph for an extended period of time even at that charge on level ground. At 50% charge, expect significantly slower speed with a top burst speed around 20mph and sustained 18mph. Even 'normal' hills typically cut all of those numbers in half.
If all of these increased by 15% or so (as appears to be the case), I would be pretty happy. I do agree that you won't actually be able to average much above 20mph in any city commute without being dangerous or a jerk. Technically a Segway Max would probably function similarly for efficient travel, but not be nearly as fun or capable up hills.

@@e-guy8259 So I got the cruiser over the booster. As much as im enjoying it, i severely under-estimated how much the extra weight of the cruiser was going to factor into my use of it. Don't get me wrong, the range on the thing is insaaane, and taking it for long trips without having to worry about the battery is fantastic. It's also comfortable to ride. But I won't be taking this thing on the bus or what-have-you anytime soon. It's really a pain to move around. Even taking it up and down my stairs to the apartment sucks, and makes me think twice about going to the store with it. I don't think it's very comfortable to pick up either, and I find it very awkward even with the grab handle attachment. If you work out though unlike me, might not be a big deal. If mobility and portability are important, i think the booster might be the way to go (though i say that without having any experience using it).

It is something they are known for, but you're also the second one to mention this in the last couple days.
My guess is that because we're in absolute peak scooter season right now, that the scooter companies aren't able to keep up with responding the way they have been in the off-season, or even in peak season in other years. I know Melvin, the owner cares a lot about the customer base and over all reputation of the brand. Hopefully they can grow their staff fast enough to get on top of whatever is going on. There are other very large companies that I have "tested" reaching out to several times with email messages, and even let them know that I was from ESG and was testing them the second time around. Never heard back.

I just wish it was dual 1000w motors so you could hit 40mph if needed. besides the top speed being a little low it is by far the best bang for the buck e-scooter. if you have more money to spend the best bang for the buck at high end is Nami Burn E2.

This scooter could handle it, just easily swap out the controller for a 30 or 35a controller. They use a 25a controller because they want the extra miles. But if you want a quicker scooter, upgrade the controller which is super cheap

With the exception of the impossible to install "sport handle bar" all of these accessories really need to come standard at the moment.
If I can buy a perfectly good modest scooter for under $200 bucks which anyone can at the moment what is the point of spending all that extra money?
Anyhow great review but clearly the Industry needs to expand far more aggressively inside the United States so that a dealership model can be developed thus creating more professional feedback "to keep those wheels turning."
In the meantime actual pure bev motorcycles are starting to appear at this price point soooo..

Varla eagle has this scooter beat. Varla easily gets over 30 mph and is easier to fold. The range on the cruiser is insane, but I personally like having a scooter that can get close to 40mph. It just means there's more power available.

Based on other videos I’d say the speed isn’t correct. One person said that the computer sees 10” tires when in reality they are 9.25”. Tests I’ve seen shows that the speedometer is 4-5mph higher than the actual speed.

      Hi Wong,
All of our speed tests are done with a Racelogic Vbox Sport, which is more accurate than typical phone GPS. I agree though, the speedometers on most scooters aren't accurate. Do you think the new Cruiser is faster or slower than 30.5 mph? -Paul
