O kurwa, Drae is playing a game from the fatherland again! Manual: "Zrób to sam" do it yourself. "Sklep" means store and its the only thing you pronounced spot on. Haha Lastly, it's funny that the instructions in the top left are mostly english but end in Polish. What a mess 😂 Thanks man, another great upload!
The way the house looks, and the furniture inside (maybe besides the wall mounted wristwatch) is how most polish homes looked like inside in the 90s, the little square stools in the kitchen, the curtain covering the cabinet under the sink. They really did a good job capturing the vibes of those times. Some people live like this today too, but it's kind of rare
This is peak 2005 Poland energy, the "puchar wójta" on the announcement board was such a polish countryside thing in my time, i love this game already.
I love that you actually need even weight distribution on the bench press bar, and Drae being crushed to death because he immediately couldn't balance the bar😂.
For anyone curious - seems or sounded like the mom got a job harvesting cucumbers in Germany. Don't know if migratory work is still a thing nowadays but it certainly was very common in the time-period the game is set. So Drae calling a number in Germany (49 is the international pre-dial for Germany) does make sense.
1:38 I still have got that type of clock at home, you can fold it and set it standing or hang it on the wall just like in game, hah. It's over 20 years old but it still works! xD
Just came to the comment section to say in the first few seconds....the player actually has a really nice rug. Really ties the room together. Edit - Also I love how ooptube decided to send me a rug ad mid video. Well done targeted advertising!
That german talking about cucumbers was saying that there's a lot of arbaiten to be done. (Arbeit = work, you know) and I'm nowhere near close to being a German, I'm Czech, I understood a lot of the polish too.
Drae!! I ran out of your older vids to watch... I must say, your life sim vids are some of the best of your vids lol You have a way of going completely off the beaten path and do your own thing, and comes out more entertaining than I expected from some of those games
1. Opens the rear end by clicking on those little black stoppers. 2. Wanted to CLOSE the rear end of the flatbed, tried using his head, even moused over those black stoppers (you can see a prompt to interact flash up), and then gave up. 3. Drove off, lost the coal and the assigment. 4. Did NOT try to use the same stoppers again to close the flatbed ^^ (which, I guess, would have solved the issue) ❤Thank you Drae for the prime entertainment :D
There is a phone app that by also using the camera, will translate Polish into English. I use the app quite a lot as I only know quite basic Polish, but enough to manage. The birds are pigeons, not doves. Pigeon breeding / racing is a popular hobby in Poland, The money used in Poland is ZLOTY (pronounced as Zwoty). Zloty means Gold BTW. Keep up the great work 🤩
Yes! Just on time. I already finished watching the Finnish Cottage simulator videos and was sad that there wasn't more. I am wondering if the Poland simulator is better.
Yup, 90s & early 00s. Times of low income, people laid off, general job insecurity. "Western flood". Small businesses going under after markets and supermarkets opened. Repercussions of centrally regulated economy of "communist states" left Poland in debt, without the ability to manufacture anything on a larger scale, with technology that worked but was decades old. Everything sold out to foreigners. Rapid changes led to corruption and social division. So here You are, a nobody, without a job, driving a 30 year old Nysa looking for scrap to sell to a shady guy. Just like I remember.
I recently got to see the tattoos of a music band I enjoy listening to. They are called Little big. The guy singing has a bear face tattooed all over his body. It took me a moment but I had to laugh once I realized what he had done with his tattoos. Bear; chest, knees, elbows, back and I'm sure he probably had more tattoos where I couldn't see 😏.
About the Christ the Redeemer arms there. So, apparently, the statue was created by a French-Polish man called Paul Landowski. This is probably in reference to him
Drae, I'd really love if you could pronounce grzegorz brzęczyszczykiewicz chrząszczyżewoszyce powiat łękołody in your next episode. It's from an old comedy about ww2, just copy paste that into youtube and you'll find a clip, I assure you every Pole will love you for it.
Of course Drae forgets where to go on his first job, like 30 seconds after being told where to deliver the scrap vehicle. That's certainly a form pf improvement, lol....
OHV most garanteed means Over Head Valve, wich is an type of engine valve configuration. Wasn’t sure first because of the game being polish and could mean something else. But the fact that the car and the auto shop referred to it kinda hammers it down.
"We have a rotary phone, god I haven't used a rotary phone since I was a kid and I'm showing my age now... tbf they didn't even exist when I was a kid, my great grandma had one".... dude... just stop talking 😭 God i'm old.
This green/ blue vehicle is called nyska (diminutive), becouse it was produced in Nysa , PL, city's name comes from river Nysa (so blue was typical color for this vehicle i think) . I was a passanger of it few times as a kid.
wow surprised no one commented on this but pretty sure to close the smar truck bed you do the same as you opened it. those tabs at the back. pretty sure it had text over it once it was opened at 23:29.
Drae the currency is złoty which is pronounced zwoti (z-wo-ti) and the exchange rate to usd is around 4 złoty to 1 usd dollar. Also bieg (I'm 1 minute in) is gear and is pronounced (b-yeg)
As a polish guy its so funny to hear the polish words butchered
Same :D
they are violated and american legal system cant do anything with it
Now you can have the authentic polish experience in the comfort of your own home
not unless there is a cuss button like in my summer car.
LOL those oversize watch-shaped wall clocks actually were a thing in Europe in the 90s. Totally forgot about that.
Dont forget Swatch was a thing too, i recall bigguns

Actually the arms are a nod to Polish statue of Christ, located in Świebodzin. Tho this is set in 90s, and the statue was raised in 2010
OHV (over head valve) its the type of engine in polish car Polonez (in this game its called OHV) and its a player's dream to have one

I rather want brakes on all four wheels:)

In Malaysia, my late grandparents have that oversize watch. It is also pretty common during their time.

Yes! Just on time. I already finished watching the Finnish Cottage simulator videos and was sad that there wasn't more. I am wondering if the Poland simulator is better.
NYSA van is faithfully recreated, I rode in one, which was converted to a mini-bus.
love that the weights are tire rims
Drea, thank you for always making content and being a good person.
I wish I could play any game with Drae as commentary.
