Thanks for posting this, I’ve heard Playback singers and she is the best. I don’t understand any of the Indian languages and still enjoyed it, and your reaction. People don’t get to dictate what you need to understand to have a reaction to art. If they did most of the art galleries would be out business. Shreya very very good singer.
You do not need to understand the lyrics to react to music. If you want to analyze it then yes, and the style. If you want a spectacular example listen to Samal Tau. If you are not moved by that, you have no soul. Sofie is a sensitive and empathetic reactor and she’s never claimed to analyze. I think people should just look at the girl in front of them and focus on the enjoyment we all get, rather than criticize.

This is Lata Mangeshkar‘ last concert in Hyderabad in the year 2002. She was 72 years old in 2002. She was very active till she was 86 but later reduced her engagements due to her health. Her last recording was done when she was 90 years old. She started her singing career in the year 1942. Mentioned below link is from the same concert. She is a living legend. No doubt about it.
