In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.
Kiell is great. Like a less angry but more indignant Ed Gamble.

Kiell looked so pleased with himself when he said "belongings". Im glad he called Alex out on his shenanigans on guessing the person after asking who the person is.
My favourite thing about these is those sneaky sofa legs in the background of Alex's shot every interview 😂
The moment he walked in I could tell he was going to be my favorite cast member of the season. He's got the Phil Wang body suit

(And I still can't believe he didn't "know". The man has eyes and I assume walked past at least one reflective surface before he started filming. 😄 )
He's got a much better version of the body suit lol- a jumpsuit instead of a morph suit is a considerable improvement
Kiell has surpassed every one of my expectations, he is awesome and charming and fiercely competitive. What a bloody legend.
When Alex says "Can you elaborate?" on what they broke as a child, I really want someone to ask if that's one of the questions. Then if Alex says no, they can refuse to elaborate and if he says yes, they can ignore the 21st question as it's only 20 question. I thought Kiell might be the one to do that.
I had also noticed each question had secondary questions and hoped someone would use that to their advantage. ..
Totally unrelated to the video, but I'm so pleased Kiell actually wore an "outfit" for the show, I always love when someone dresses down for the show, like Lou, Daisy, Phil, etc.

I loved how cautious he was..trying to guess the “right” answers to the more obscure questions..but for some reason the funniest part for me was him tentatively saying one of the items was “some…..metal?”
Kiell really took the 20 questions seriously compared to the others we've seen, he was really cagey about it! And he was right to of course because Alex was playing tricks
The cut at the end from anger at Alex to shaking hands was beautiful
I got a feeling watching this Kiell would finally catch that last question. He really took his time with this one. Well played. 'Could you move your eyebrows over here?', is a fabulous question.

This interview release progression [/season] has been a true treat
Every time Alex says, “You can go now,” it feels more like, “I want you to leave immediately, please.”
I know Kiell only from Ghost, and although he's good in Ghost, he doesn't stand out among so many other good actors in that series. TM is really giving him the opportunity to shine and shows him to be a very good comedian/comedic actor.
Have you seen him in Dreamland? He's really good!
So my guess is that Mae might’ve said Liza Minnelli, and Alex will guess David Bowie for question 19. Once their interview comes out, we can piece together the order they were done in.
Either Liza Minelli, so the order is Jenny, Mae, Kiel, Ivo, Frankie
or Paddington, so the order is Kiel, Ivo, Frankie, Mae, Jenny.
@@Tao_Tology I just blindly thumbed your comment up, assuming you'd done the work and got the possible orders right, rather than double-check back all the interviews; I guess I knew there was no points in it...
...Hang on, thinking back, wasn't Alex's 19th question for others 'is your person x?' followed by his last question asking for who they were? I don't think he did here so surely Kiell's has to be first and was it Frankie's he guessed Usain Bolt for q19?

It just being coincidence with the rhyming, Kiell 1st for Alex to ask Mae if it's Thomas Pynchon and for Mae to have chosen Paddington, with Alex's guess of Liza Minnelli for Kiell just being a random one.
Glad I cleared that up! I knew my initial instinct to trust a fellow TM fan's homework was a good one!

Another way to look at it is that neither Jenny's 'Alex suggestion' nor her person match up with any of the other 3 contestants', so she was either first or last, with Mae's being filmed in between.

Yeah, now that even he didn't seem to notice them I think maybe it's just the tech guy or something and the contestants were told to just ignore them during the task like always.
Certainly all the contestants already knew that there was a person behind the sofa. It's a camera person, not a gag.
The camera operator. My wife noticed him (?) right away because of the feet sticking out into wide shot.

@@andreraymond6860 more likely a sound person no? The camera pan is done in post because it's a 360 degree camera so they're not doing that.

Never heard of Kiell before but as with every series he ended up my favourite. He matches Guz Khan in his energy

No 360 version? 😭 i noticed the other 360 versions were less edited- wondering if that edit towards the end (11:17 ish) would be left in the 360 version, if it gets released.
Why does no one get up and move opposite of what they need to look at? Make Alex move his head. Or move the camera and look at the back as they pan?
The rules didn’t say that you couldn’t ask Alex to move around…
Did you watch the video? Can you move your eyebrows over there alex? The rules with taskmaster is you can always ask a question...Whether or not Alex will give a useful answer or help/cooperate is up to his discretion.
@@TheCreativeWill I meant more “Alex can you stand in front of the book shelf or lay down on carpet…” 😂 “move eyebrows” is too subjective as it can mean gesture with your eyebrows towards bookshelf
@@jillkearns525 Asking "Do you wanna move your eyebrows over here?" while then pointing directly at the shelf where he needs to look is hard to misinterpret. Alex knows it isn't for any points so I doubt he would move however it's phrased. Just a chance for him to have some fun being obtuse and putting their "balance" off and second guessing everything. Great way to introduce people to the contestants, Alex's brand of humor/awkwardness and the shows format of paranoia and eagerness to please and get the "right" answer.

If the first few episodes have taught us anything, its that if anyone will do this, its Mae. They're come up with some creative approaches to tackling the tasks so far.
