    I've bought Logitech G9x (my first gaming mouse) in 2012 and was quiet happy to have it. Sadly, after one year of exploitation the cable went broken and i purchased another mouse. Eventually i changed 3 different mice until 2019 when i finally realised that there is no mouse better for me than G9x. I fixed the cable and still use it with a great pleasure. For me this mouse is just perfect. And i have no desire to change it for anything else in this world.

      I’m still using my G9 I bought about 10 years ago. It’s a top shape for me, but recently I decided to look for something with modern electronics inside. G502 Lightspeed is nice, but not as good for me.

    • @NinjaContravaniaManX
      @NinjaContravaniaManX 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same here! The G9x is my all time favorite. This was the time when I realized that smaller mice and fingertip are way better for aiming. I also thought about swapping several times, but alsways ended up going back to the G9x after just a few days. The first time was when Steelseries released the Xai and claimed "true 1:1 input... optical is superior... CPI is the way to go!" - Yeah... BS! Sadly, this killed laser gaming mice entirely. I really loved the shape of the Xai, but I just couldn't aim with it, no matter how hard I tried. I then bought 3 more copies of the G9x when my first one broke lol. The last one I bought was off eBay, totally overpriced, as it wans't produced anymore at that point. Eventually, all of them broke and Logitech stopped supporting some features in their new G software and it was finally time to say goodbye. But there wasn't anything that precise until the first PMW3366 mouse dropped, the original G502. Now there's plenty of worthy options. But the G9x will always have a special place in my heart and I will never forget all the great times (and hackusations) I had with it. 'sniff

    I recently bought the Cooler Master MM720 due to my nostalgia for the shape of my old CM Storm Xornet. After about 2 weeks it still just didn't feel right and my aim hadn't recovered back to where it was. So ultimately I went back to my Glorious Model D Minus and remembered exactly why I loved it.
    That experience has taught me that making a buying decision based on nostalgia for similar products isn't a smart purchasing decision. Good video and I agree completely with the recommendation of 2-3 weeks.

    Back in 2007 I've bought Diamondback - Plasma Blue Edition. That was my first gaming mouse, and I was using it daily for over 10 years - still got it today and revisiting it sometimes.
    I've always liked it's shape and overall feeling from the beginning. I also bought 2015 model, this time 3 of them, just to be sure I can use my favourite for many years :D

    Very timely video -- I just switched from an original MS optical mouse to an M42 which was quite a change for me. Initial tests using my wife's M42 for gaming I liked it immediately, but when I got my own and tried using it all day while I worked I noticed discomfort after a few hours. My hands are a little larger than yours and my first though was the mouse was too small, but after watching your videos and similar videos on mouse grips I've been experimenting with different techniques. I'm settling on more of a fingertip/semi claw for gaming, but find a relaxed palm grip with a wrist rest fits office/IT work better. That process has taken just over 2 weeks...

    My first mouse was Corsair m62 and my second was Corsair glaive. I used them both for few years until I found that the wire part was kinda getting in my way. So I went for Razer mamba wireless which I noticed it was a little lighter and I was able to use it more freely. After a year of using it, I switched to Razer basilisk ultimate. I notice all fall into big mouse category because I have a big hand.
    Razer basilisk ultimate became the perfect mouse for me after using it for weeks and still use it to this day. Being wireless which allowed me to use it freely and light mouse too. It was a perfect shape and allowed me to play more consistently on fps game I play, mainly Overwatch. I play on palm grip with three fingers on top because I use my middle mouse button for melee.

    Went back to watch this video after getting the Razer Viper Mini. I used the G502 before this and before that I used the G600 for about 8 years between the two, so I'm really used to big mice with asymmetrical shapes. Throwing around this mouse that's less than twice the weight and with an unfamiliar shape I was dreading the fact that I wouldn't be able to get used to it. But now only a week in with it, I definitely can feel myself being better with it especially for long gaming hours compared to the 502. It's great for the wrist and I feel more consistent with it. Its shape still throws me off sometimes but I get the hang of it after warm up.

    I eventually ended up modding my second Diamondback to have flat sides (using Bondo + paint) as I never really got used to those under curves, especially for accessing the thumb buttons without moving the thumb. Also switched to the DA when it came out, especially after Sujoy's recommendation on ESR. Sujoy's mouse benchmarks were the first time I recall seeing an objective and quantifiable assessment of sensor performance, and was sorely needed to combat the amount of laser sensors being marketed to gamers.

    I went from a Deathadder to a Glorious O- on 19.5 x 9 cm hands. First two weeks my hands were actually cramped. I never thought I could cramp my hands before because I've used extremely small cheap mice.
    That being said after some time I realized it allows me to move the mouse a lot better. The cramps also disappeared over time. Now I've gone even smaller. I cut my O- in half and am full on fingertip, even using it outside of game. I think it really depends on personal experience

    Actually this channel taught me to be open-minded and that ultimately the shape of the mouse has to fit the hand, grip style and the aim style. Basically i picked up a deathadder mini one day and it felt right instantly, never looked back. Only thing that could make it better is if it were wireless.

    How do you know you're old? You had these mice. I did. Ironically it was an old Diamondback why i ended up on this channel. Couple of years ago my Mom called me, they were clearing the attic and i still had stuff there. Going through my old stuff i found my old bag of mice. That included the IE 3.0, Diamondback, Imperator. Under the bag, an Icemat. So i fired up my Diamondback, and i realized how much i love a smaller mouse. At the time i was using my 3rd? Deathadder. Turned out i aim better with smaller mice. Also i like the shape of the DB, this is why i had zero issues with the G102's shape. Currently i'm using a Viper Mini.

    There's also the fact that you can modify the shape of a mouse with griptape, e.g. adding a ledge for your pinky finger. There's no mice on the market designed for a wide fingertip grip, and you gotta work with what's available.

    It was similar for me. I used to use bigger mice like the Corsair Glaive and others because I never thought about shape before and just bought mice based on the sensor pretty much. Played them with high sens in a palm grip and had decent aim even with my super small hands. Making the switch to smaller mice that suited my handshape more was difficult at first since I couldn't figure out how to hold them right without my hand cramping, but I stuck with it and now play much more comfortably and have more precise aim with lower sens and a claw grip on my O-. Still going to try the MZ1 as well, might be even better for me.

    i think different. for me mice need to fit like a glove, if its comfortable, i will aim good, i will hit shots. i won't be bothered by getting hand cramps so i can perform my best ingame and focus on the gameplay rather than how i "feel".
    I used the g203 for a good while, on paper it should've been the endgame - Small, lightweight mouse, with ambi design. However, despite aiming well, my hand kept hurting, I went back to my old SteelSeries Rival and still aimed better.

    I've been switching through mice that I'll use between a week or three to find something that's comfortable in both immediate and long-term use. I had picked up the Cooler Master MM731 since I like small/medium ergo shapes. Outside of thumb buttons that are a bit too far forward and stiff, I immediately fell in love with the comfort and weighting on buttons/scroll. It's always very comfortable at first with a tilted palm/claw grip, but a few times I'd get this weird fatigue in my 3rd and 4th finger that was almost numb; bordering enough on being painful that I'll have to switch out to something like the MM720 that forces an exaggerated claw. In general, I can play longest with a relaxed fingertip, but I think my fingers are short enough compared to the width of my palm to make it difficult on pulling that move with all but one or two of the mice I have because of how far frickin' forward thumb buttons always are, hahaha.
    Of all the name brand mice I've tried, the ONLY one that remains comfortable despite my grip is the Delux M800DB. Not perfect, but I can at least reach the terrible side buttons while fingertipping, and placement of curve edges don't precisely grind into the bones of my knuckle joints. When I fingertip it, the hump rests perfectly in the ridge of joints between the fingers and palm, and the rear slopes down enough behind the hump that it doesn't push against the palm to fight against my grip like longer mice do. From the few reviews I've seen of it, it does very closely resemble the Viper, but slightly smaller. I forget where I saw the comparison, but somebody said it's directly between the regular Viper and the Viper Mini. So a copy for sure, but a unique take on it.
    I think I'm asking you to have an opinion on the M800DB? I saw you didn't have a video on it and curious what your thoughts on it would be given the kinda unique dimensions it has. Looks to actually be more comparable to some Finalmouse, actually.

      Not really as your thumb will apply pressure on the the side and your fingers will "dodge" the good bit of the hump of the EC. There's a reason why a lot of the best aimers in CS used the EC.

    I’ve used a deathadder for 5 years. After switching to the basilisk I was hooked on checking out mice because I noticed how much better my aim was with the basilisk. Now I have sprees of buying and returning mice, but I cannot seem to get used to shapes that aren’t reminiscent of the deathadder/basilisk. I now main an xtrfy m4, which initially gave me minimal discomfort so I could actually get used to it but my hand is just so finnicky. It seems I’m just not able to use mice that are smaller/ambidextrous. My hands are about 19 by 10 cm. When trying smaller/ambi mice a specific tendon on the right side of my hand just starts burning. I can never get through two weeks without severely irritating that tendon. It’s such a shame, had such good aim with for example the mm720, with my favourite sensor the 3389. But I just can’t have my hand get used to it, it hurts too much. I’m a professional pianist, maybe that has an influence in some way. I’ve recently tried the Makalu 67, CM mm720, Deathadder Mini, Roccat Kone Pro, of which many are M4/Basilisk-like in shape. I can’t have any of them, although they all feel great when initially putting my hand on them. Gonna try deathadder v2 pro tomorrow. It is frustrating…

    Unfortunately, I aim better with it than other mice making it hard it to replace. If only they'd make a G305 Superlight.

    I've tried so many mice, but when I get my MX518 (oldschool version) out of the drawer, it always feels amazing from the start. Even after months of using smaller mice, I still prefer the mouse I grew up with. Maybe I go lucky at the start?

    • @AFXSnares
      @AFXSnares 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Still the best shape I've ever used, it's easy to swap out the sensor for g400/g400s/mx518L internals then you have a perfect mouse.

    🤣😂🤣 i play with my mouse now for about 7 years but now i needed a new one because it Self-employing now. Start making dots sometimes a "," between the "." Until i push a button. But it starts completely randomly. It was so wired on the beginning if i was in a game and doing thing if never klickt (the "." Was bind with a mouse button). Ps.: Roccat swarm or Tycoon ( don't know which is mouse and keyboard) with a roccat mousepad where i need to swap, one side is for control and the other for speed.
    So i bought the mz1 with the gpz pad 😁

    Razer viper mini is the best mouse i have ever used. I acually prefer the higher Los because when I play I I sometimes pinch the mouse where it raises a little of mousepad and for a split second and my mouse won't register. With the viper mini I dont have this problem.

    I've switched from the Viper Mini to the MZ1 for about a month now and I noticed that my flicks and overall aim is generally better but I haven't gotten used to the instability of the MZ1 due to the narrow sides. It's really noticable at long range gunfights where it seems extremely uncomfortable to control.

    Hi, i have been trying differen mice for over 1.5 years now and i always took your top mice list and measuring methods as inspiration. But i noticed a noticeable difference between symm and ergo mice. With symmetrical mice the 60% rule fits pretty much perfectly but ergo mice could usually be thinner and still as comfortable. Any thoughts on this?

    • @GuidoDePalma
      @GuidoDePalma 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      ergo could also be bigger. It really depends on the shape and your hand/grip. I haven't had particular issues with the likes of Naos.

    On my case i used to have a motospeed v30 and i bought a razer viper. At first it felt kinda weird but confortable at the same time, I thought i needed to get used to it. But now after a few months with the viper i can say I'd never buy it again. My Pinky finger hurts every day, i can't play for more than 4 hours without having to stop because it literally hurts

Maybe i can try adjusting my fingers or buy pads but it doesn't really bother me. Whatever feels comfortable i guess

    Always had thin mouses.. recently i got razer naga trinity for mmo's.. that thing is bulky af.. i find it really damn hard to get used to it.. also way how i holding the mouse ( fingers on side touching and moving the mouse and never lay my hand on the mouse, moving it pulling it up all the time .. i control mouse with my fingers not with whole hand ) now i am struggling to get used to it.. it's too big somehow.. ( i have big hands it's just that new feeling/shape of the mouse need to get into my brain ).. i hope soon i will get used to it.. or i holding the mouse in a wrong way from begining, idk but i think after 20 years doing it it's impossible to change that lol

    used the RVM for a few months, either the sensor was broken or I was not able to aim with that thing at all, but with my bigger mice not only I aim better I also make better micro-adjustments, I've been using the hyperx haste and it's good, like very good, but the problem is even after a few months my hand is still cramping sometimes, and I just can't find a good grip on it, so I've been thinking of buying the superlight because it's a tad taller and I feel like the shape would be great for me

    Sadly your mouse wasn't for me :( My hands are 20 by 10 cm so it was too small and uncomfortable for me when I tried it in the store. But I ended up on HyperX Pulsefire Haste and it felt great! It also was on a green scale for fingertip grip for my hand size, so I ended up buying it and was pretty satisfied! Had to return it though because of mouse clicks difference, but ordered a new one.

    • @m1shail
      @m1shail 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have HyperX Pulsefire FPS Pro and it feels much more bigger and heavier. It is very comfortable for palm grip but there's no way to use it with a fingertip (well you can but it's uncomfortable) and have those small adjustments with the fingers. The Pulsefire Haste on the other hand is great for it and I found myself popping circles in AimLab barely moving my hand sometimes!

      Just got my MZ1 yesterday. Still got comfortable some games. Need to get used to but aweome mouse coming from worn down G403. I got similar hands as you (19.5x9.5) I was a bit afraid it would be more awkward tbh

    • @m1shail
      @m1shail 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GOGETAdu54 I don't know, it's like too narrow for me. I have to kind of claw it to hold it on the sides properly, especially with a pinkie so there's too much tension because of it and I don't really wanna get used to it. Zy's 60% rule works great for me with the Pulsefire Haste and, besides, I saved quite some money with it.

      You might wanna look into cordura pads. I was also a hard padder until those hit the market. It's a speical kind of cloth that's water resitant, extremely slippery and very durable. The military uses that stuff for backpacks and ammo pouches. The SPC Endorphy for example is a really good one and fairly cheap. I'm fine with the 450x400 version but there's also a deskmat-sized version. Not sure if they're shipping worldwide, but there's plenty of other brands.
