Hi, thanks for watching, yes I've tried the same thing unfortunately with out being able to be certain one way or the other, as mine does it very infrequently, this was the first time in months, so I reckon the best thing to do is change them 😊, I've literally done everything else, so I'm hoping this will cure it once and for all, take care ....... Hi I had same problem, if rev counter stops working its the left cdi unit or right one if rev counter works. You can fix it by cutting plastic back off cleaning black stuff off circuit board then re solder all the joints, in particular the ones to the pin connectors.
Hi John, thanks for watching, I was considering trying to fix them or at least overhaul them, but I'm useless at electrical things, mechanical yes, electrics no, hence the fact I change them ..... Colin ☺️
I had that issue with my 1989 TA. Confirmed by pulling a plug wire, then reversing the CDIs, and pulling the same plug wire.
