This is the best #FM23 video I've seen so far. The amount of detail and information that Jack discusses and outlays in this video is unrivalled. It's a gold mine of info and a brilliant insight into how someone thinks
Beautifully laid out series intro, from the overall plan to the tactical breakdown, to the training regiments. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing, immense work, can't wait to see this series unfold! Well done Jack.
Thank you H2! It ended up being a lot longer then I intended. But I thought rather then cut loads out, I would just have it in chapters and people can go to the parts they want to watch. I've also tried to make it so it flows quickly as you're watching it so it doesn't feel as long!
as a person really interested in coaching and learning from coaches/trainers in all sports, this is an amazing series/concept. I truly hope this series crushes and you continue this kind of content into the future.
@@TheCultofFM welll I went 7 episodes in one night since I discovered it, so I’d say you’ve done a great job keeping it entertaining and still fascinating on a trainers level. The way you’ve implemented real life training, which to me just doesn’t work well in FM is great. Way more successful than I did, maybe that’s just poor injury luck on my part. But FM doesn’t like real life training methods like the hardest training successions being the day after the game furthest out from the next game. Or even right after the game in some cases in the NBA and probably other places as well. Your players just fall to pieces. You’ve gotten a new regular in me, I can’t wait to see the rest of your content, and future content.
Haha thank you I appreciate it! Did you come across this video looking for coaching videos or FM videos out of interest? I suppose thinking about it, it could come up in either!
You've put more thought into this than I've ever put into anything in my life. Super impressing. Gonna watch all the episodes already available asap. Can't wait to see this play out.
Thank you Albzzyw5805! That's extremely high praise and I can't thank you enough for the kind comments! I hope you stick around and join us for the journey right the way through! Who are you thinking of starting with if you try it yourself?
Thank you I appreciate it! A bit different to a normal FM Series on YT with a lot of real life references throughout the early episodes Thanks again and I hope you enjoy it!
Loving the concept so far. Can't wait to see the football the system produces, I've wanted to try a more direct style myself but I've always been hesitant to switch from the old faithful shorter style. Maybe this will inspire me to break the mold
Absolutely love the level of detail, something I do myself in my own save. My club dna is a very defensive philosophy and whole club based around that.
Hi, just found your Channel, with this episode!. I watched the whole thing, very interesting. I am only a Level 1 Coach but have played FM, & sadly Fifa, since 96!.
Hey! First of all welcome and I'm glad you found the channel! Haha FIFA is ok too in parts. I've loved FIFA, PES, LMA Manager & Football Manager all throughout different stages of my life. Hopefully you'll enjoy the series I cover a decent amount of real life coaching stuff in this series let me know what you think when you get up to date on E6! Jack
It's very interesting to see how Associations approach coaching on a national level! Especially for us coaching in other countries, where things are very different! From an FM perspective, it's impressive how you try to model the "England DNA" set of philosophies, to a computer game, where everything is much more limited! Well done Jack!
Thank you mate I appreciate it! Yeah this is one of those things that I could come back to once a year or once every other year and see with how FM develops we can do more with it and applying real life to the game. In my Moneyball series you can see the difference of the stats from FM22 to FM23 and the huge brilliant positive difference it's made to the Moneyball concept.
@@TheCultofFM are you still working in SI? I remember you were working on the match engine! I am delving into details of all your previous series, to actually see the differences :)
I like this video much better than the redone, shorter one. There are loads of samey series on TH-cam; what makes a series distinctive is its background, philosophy, ethos. This one is outstanding. I hope you maintain these aspects in videos going forward.
Thank you Andy I appreciate it! I will try to. Obviously there are parts of the save where it won't be necessary but there will be points in which I explain a real life concept and they will be longer like this
@@TheCultofFM I'm implementing as much as I can into my Academy Challenge with Loch Ness. I particularly like the thought of planting 'DNA' in 15-year-old kids with roles like CWB, BPD and Libero.
This was an epic breakdown and I accidentally come across this channel. Some day and some when please can you do the Bilbao challenge, with a philosophy like this.
Thank you I really appreciate it ! I played as them recently off camera so it's unlikely I would do this in FM23 but I'll put it down for a future series down the line as it was really fun!
I remember asking you about this on stream and you said that you didn't really have any experience with this, so it'll be interesting to see how it works out for you man! Looking forward to it!
Have u ever tried the ‘official’ youth academy where u sim a season and then take a team promoted into the bottom division to make it as hard as possible
I myself am trying to do a youth academy only save for the first time. I am starting an easy one at Ajax with the goal of winning the CL and I if don’t fail I will try a harder one. Eventually I want to try really hard ones.
This has been very inspiring. I’ll watch the rest of the chapters, looks mighty interesting. A question: do you think a youth academy save would work well together with an attribute-less approach?
Thank you I appreciate it and hope you enjoy the series !! It’s the ultimate challenge I guess for me either I want completely no attributes to apply a moneyball concept to it, or to do a youth only save where I can see their attributes and see their progression etc
Interesting what you say about how good CL runs usually lead to international success when you look at Real Madrid over the last 6 years and then at Spain’s lack of success
I'm not entirely sure how you intended this comment but I'll explain what I meant by that and I wasn't making a claim or statement it's more of an observation and it's not a hard fast rule. My words were "normally" and "big performance at a international tournament" I didn't say it was a rule that CL finalists automatically equal a international trophy. I said performance too as international football is almost like it's own sport with so many different requirements to be successful compared to club football and teams can perform well at a world cup without actually winning it for example. For the Madrid example in the last 6 years I would suggest part of the reason why it doesn't correlate for them is they may well have done extremely well in Europe over the last few years, but how many of those starting 11's had spanish national team players compared to Barca 2009-2011? In a different example in the lead up to Germany winning the world cup in 2014 you had Bayern getting to the CL final in 2010, 2012, Then a Munich V Dortmund final in 2013 which they won. Again lots of the World cup winning team was between those two squads. Or even a combination of City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham as they've shared English team finals between them over the last 6 years and almost the entire England team is within those 4 teams. If you want to look at that same period for your spain example, you could use England and the amount of times someone has got to a CL final in the last 6 years then use England performances at the World Cup in 2018 and Euro 2020 as an example. The rule does seem to hold up for European teams in recent history except for England in 2008/2010/2012! It could be worth looking at including the UEFA Cup/Europa League over the same time frames and seeing if this adds to the trend or not. Again it's not that European international teams can't do well without their clubs doing well in the CL ( Italy, Croatia, France ), it's more if a European nation has multiple teams in CL finals over a close period that nation does tend to then do well at International Tournaments.
Hi Jack, came from the network save that you do with Daljit and you got a new follower, quality material and host here in this channel mate! One question, this series will be on TH-cam only or you'll play live on Twitch too?

I’m a young level 2 coach currently coaching at Luton Town Pre academy. Any suggestions on how I can develop myself to keep progressing to the next level
Hi I would say you're already in the right spot and right places congratulations on that! My suggestion depending on your time available would be to coach an older age group at the same time even if it's not academy related. This will give you a different challenge as a coach and might make it easier for you to access a place on a UEFA B course in the future when you decide that is the next step for you.
I can force the youth teams to play my tactic so their preferred formation doesn't matter to us. I explain the staff in a further episode and it will become an evolving thing through the series. But mainly we will look at their personalities first especially the youth coaches
great video and great idea for a series but that tactic is possibly one of the most disgusting things I will ever see. genuinely gagged when it first came up
