Crazy thing about is that when this band started he was the drummer and didn't want to sing lead. When their first lead singer left the band have to push him into the lead. The rest was history. Always the coldest singers are the ones who are the most quiet and recluse.
Raphael Saadiq's tone is similar but that's about it. Saadiq is an incredible talent but Stokely's range, control and raw power makes him multidimensional
No one and I mean no one is touching this band, NO R&B artist is even CLOSE to Stokley's vocals... He's flawless... His voice Is so beautiful and soulful.. Everything about him is beautiful, soulful, phenomenal.. he's so pure, he sings from his heart, and when we hear that beautiful melody flow from his lips, it reaches our (fans) hearts... When I hear his voice I feel so connected to him, I FEEL him, as if he were right beside me... Singing to me... Letting me know that everything will be okay.
