That crowd was disrespectful as hell…Stokley (and Mint Condition) are The Truth! We can only dream of seeing quality live performances like this now. The 90’s were full of pure greatness!
I think camera mics just don't pick up on crowd responses well which leads to people who think any performer deserves anything coming and also basically suggesting they're smarter than everyone to say the crowd was lame. I really think it's just the mics. If you think a mostly black audience in the heyday of this song, "didn't appreciate" it, I think you're not really thinking critically.
Can we all agree that this entire band is underrated???? How do you sound exactly like you do on the studio version but live???? 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ How Sway??? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dino of h-town Stokley of mint condition Lil G of silk Tony Thompson of Hi-Five These four guys are unbelievable pure singers live and are among the most underrated and unappreciated singers of all time. All four are straight 🔥.
This was my favorite song during the time. Stokley was singing his ass off. I try not to throw the term 'underrated' around too often, but this brotha right here is indeed underrated. He be blowin'. Like for real, for real. And when he hit and held that note on *I* near the end of the song, I was too through. That's my part. Great performance, fellas.
Sometimes I be thinking the crowd was moving kinda wack but I’m pretty sure back then the crowd appreciated real singers. Had more reverence towards to performance so much that they’d wait until after there done for there standing ovation.
That's the days when the label wanted Mint to appear that they were among the cluster of 90's vocal groups like Shai, Silk, and Jodeci and once were even convinced to do a track show. After that they said never again after hearing someone in the audience complained them damn computers. Lol
Baby Stokley said turn his mic all the way on!! His voice and this song takes me back to a life that we'll never see again! 😢 What a wonderful time to be alive!
This really is an astonishing performance, and this song really holds up 30 years later. One of the classics of R & B. Stokley….still going strong and one of the greats.
Growing up on mint condition really made me appreciate good music, it was always hard to impress me after growing up listening to 90s R&B especially with today’s music.
I remember when this song came out. I was in the 6th grade and my sister had the cassette. I used to listen to it over and over. My sister introduced me to the best music!
Right they just like ok but at the time everyone was loving rap more and male r&b was phasing out smh they don’t realize 30years later people don’t even sing like this anymore or have stage presence!
This is one of the best songs EVER. A Timeless Classic. And think - these guys wrote this and put the music together themselves and they were young as hell!!!
I wish I could feel the way about modern songs that I feel for songs like these. I can listen to this song everyday and still love it. There isn't one r&b song in the past ten years that I don't eventually get tired of listening to. I mean I don't listen to this song. I feel it. Y'all know what I'm talking about.
Imo, it’s because of Jodeci, New Edition, Toni Tonie Tony, Troop, etc. plus local regional RnB groups. Just so much great RnB music out at the time. Plus it’s a 90s Harlem crowd lol.
This was one of my mom's favorite songs when I was a kid. Always jammin it trying to sing it to us. Never understood how good this song was until I got older and I'm glad she showed me and my sisters good music 💜
This brother deserves more accolades, his voice is therapy.
💯💯💯

@@jalynnbk6699 Agreed!!

I AGREE THEY DIDNT APPRECIATE THIS PERFORMANCE

@@jasminehouston-burns1691wow that's truth..... very enlightening

Lil G of silk
Tony Thompson of Hi-Five
These four guys are unbelievable pure singers live and are among the most underrated and unappreciated singers of all time. All four are straight 🔥.
I’ll add Kenny Greene from INTRO!
Yup
lil g did too much hollering for me but he could sing
Tevin Campbell
Slim from 112
Stokley’s vocals are insane! So slept on, he should be in more of the best of conversations from a male standpoint.
Swearrrrrr I think Jaheim is very underrated also
@@jiameshacavers1726😂😂😂😂

@jiameshacavers1726 no his voice is common..

Mint Condition is one of the most Under-rated Bands of my Generation.
Pure Musical Madness. Geniuses. 🥁🎹
You got that right!
Totally! They consistently sound as good or better than their studio recorded songs. Marvelous, exceptional vocalists and musicians!
Agreed!! I'm an 86 Baby but parents played the mess out of Mint Condition so I, of course got hooked! My favorite Album is Living The Luxury Brown!
Exactly
Major fact
Here in 2024 & Still love this song so much 🖤

Whew!! The last of the LIVE BANDS! and Stokley is just ridiculous!!! His vocals are out of this world.. yall definitely send me swingin in 2023!! ❤❤❤❤
The last R&B/ Funk band signed was Joe Public. 1991 I believe none since. Toni, Mint, Joe no mo! Sad but true.
Him and Rapheal Saadiq, best voices in the game 😍
Yes them two reminding me of singing alike
R.kelly
Thanks...why they never did music together???
Yes they are both light lyric Tenors
Add Tevin Campbell.

No question. Stokely is one of the great vocalists of contemporary music. No question.
Nah
@@bleedinggreennation1976 tough record that R&B never supported nor embraced. Smh...
Sometimes I be thinking the crowd was moving kinda wack but I’m pretty sure back then the crowd appreciated real singers. Had more reverence towards to performance so much that they’d wait until after there done for there standing ovation.
Their style was so much different then from most groups whose singers didn't play instruments, so it was kind of overwhelming for them
That's the days when the label wanted Mint to appear that they were among the cluster of 90's vocal groups like Shai, Silk, and Jodeci and once were even convinced to do a track show. After that they said never again after hearing someone in the audience complained them damn computers. Lol
You would be shock that he has a twin voice in this world! Watch Danny Boy do this same song bye them! He even looks just like him!👑🌍✌
Stokley is better than he's ever been! Check out the now it's amazing!
Ok this is it. He wrote so much music back in the day, you wouldn't believe it!👑
Baby Stokley said turn his mic all the way on!! His voice and this song takes me back to a life that we'll never see again! 😢 What a wonderful time to be alive!
My absolutely favorite Mint condition song by far! I can't believe I was only 16 in 1994! Funny how time flys!!
I Love Mint Condition. The Last R&B Group that was actually a BAND. 🥁🎸
It's crazy how he got better over the years singing live. He actually sounds better now today in 2023 than he did back then, well to me atleast.
Indeed... He's taken really great care of himself. He's my favorite male singer.
Man Stokley sung the roof off the place💕💕
This really is an astonishing performance, and this song really holds up 30 years later. One of the classics of R & B. Stokley….still going strong and one of the greats.
