I actually appreciate this car. I hope they find their sweet spot. EV muscle cars don’t need fancy tech or gadgets. Just be faster than gas counterparts. It’s that’s simple.
Here’s the thing when they first premier the car it had a different type of noise that the actual EV engine makes… but everybody complained and they changed it to make it sound more like a v8 car….. in this world its damned if you do damned if you don’t

They don’t need these as compliance cars to offset the turbo 6 models. The reality is this company is in crisis, and simply backtracking isn’t going to fix all the massive underlying problems that have been hanging over this company for several years now. Dodge still has a TON of 2023 V8 cars on lots that aren’t selling even with significant amounts taken off MSRP.
@@Alan-tr5uj Not conjecture at all, Stellantis has confirmed the gas variant is coming in 2025 with two 3.0L twin-turbo straight-six Hurricane engine options already found in other Stellantis brands since 2021, with either standard output 420 hp or high-output 550 hp that both make more hp and torque than the outgoing 5.7 and 6.4L HEMI, just like they’ve confirmed a 4-door sedan version is coming with all electric and gas options available. I think Americans would've been alot more receptive to this car in the 50's & 60's than they are now. The mindset is less Jetsons & more Fallout which is a shame because America builds some of the best EVs. Personally coming from a w12 powered car to an ev was an easy transition & I love regen - makes twisty roads alot of fun
Does NOT qualify for Federal credit (but I could be wrong). Not that it will exist next year anyway, but there is a 55K limit which the base model starts above that threshold. Unless Dodge will claim its a SUV, which......they might try.
This is a very fine looking car, better imho than the last gen Challenger (Charger was ugly). The rear and front are thankfully sloped and lower vs bus like. I think their focus on power, comfort and cruising is on brand. Its just too expensive and being electric doesnt have that easy cross country capability
I would love to have an air powered exhaust -- if I can turn it off. It’s nice for a few minutes and sometimes I miss that, but 99% of the time I prefer the silent running of my EV.
@@XX-166Never got overcharged and I got exactly what I paid for and then some compared to that thing above. More range, more features and overall just more cost effective than the Charger EV, and that is just plain common sense. If you can’t see that then I don’t know what to tell ya.
Love your videos. For a daily w/track capability and size, give me a the Hyundai I5N all day everyday. Glad they attempted this, as you said… give ‘em another half decade on software, etc.
First generation it’s great. Has more character than a Tesla. Nice that it doesn’t have a iPad monitor bolted to the dashboard like a Tesla sticking up .
58,000 starting out? I hope the inline 6 is less. Shit I only paid 34,000 for my brand new challenger v6. They were letting the v8 go for 40,000 where I bought my car from. You can get a brand new fully loaded mustang get convertible for 58,000 and in certain areas less then that. They are definitely overpricing this new charger.
I hope everyone buys one of these. Then teslas will have a new group to race at lights for a couple months until they wont make eye contact with you anymore. Do they have sound effects for it losing a rod.
Why does the shades of the paint on the front bumper and rear bumper not the same I’ve noticed that in every video and every color, body color is darker than the bumper on all colors, maybe not as noticeable in real life but for that price it would bother me
The exhaust noise is hilarious. Why do companies still have all those extra packages for extra money. Just copy Tesla and give it all or almost all in every car 🤣
Im really liking everything about it but the price. Im still glad i purchased my tesla m3p with the tax credit. No better performance bargain. If the charger was the same price i might consider it in a few years.
They've gotta tune up the e motors or drop the price. People chose dodge because of affordable perfomance.. Now you get more performance for 50% more $$$$. Cool car but no bargain to be had... I'll wait for that 1st or 2nd yr ev deprecation to hit the new or used market.
If it was cheaper I'd love it, because that car is gorgeous looking and i'll take it over a tesla. Hoping the i6 twin turbo comes, as well as a rumored v8
Personally, I love the looks of this car, but I will never get a 2-door car ever again (inconvenient and uncomfortable for rear seat occupants). I don’t like how much hard cheap plastics are on the inside for $70K. I also hate the fake sounds. Even worse, the speakers are on the outside, which will create terrible noise pollution!
Good to see the military E1 can go green, kill their debt to income ratio, make dumb loud noises, complain how everything falls apart when subs are put in the trunk, I can keep going lol, run an extension cord from govtment building because they have no where to charge. Like Ben said go get a Model 3 performance purchase a loud cup to make dumb noises and call it a day.
Ive been shopping for car and truck. Your right if you drive a tesla everything is junk. Unusable, How hard can it be to make fast cars that drive themselves. If they have fake exhuast its the trigger to know they suck in my opinion. I do want to drive the dodge hybrid truck i keep hearing about. I can appreciate that option. I wish the cybertruck did a hybrid instead of an expensive extra battery.
Dodge should have partnered with a company like BYD for assistance with its EVs. This collaboration would have improved both engineering and cost-effectiveness. However, this type of vehicle lacks in performance and handling.
85 thousand!!!!! You can get a BMW i5 m60 for that much, which is a much much much better car from a manufacturer who has been mass producing EV's for over a decade. What is Stellantis smoking?
Worst decision ever! That should've been the Chrysler 300! A muscle car should be on a midsized platform at most and priced well BELOW a luxury sports sedan. Model S shouldn't even be in the conversation.
How can you be at that age and not yet know how to drift? Maybe you don't live in a snow state. :) (I think its required knowledge early on to know how to drive safely in the snow...then again, soooo many around me don't)

Old timer here, I remember when Henry Ford came out with the Model A, He tried to make it sounds like a horse. I loved it!

I remember blowing gas out of cigars and rolling around with my revolver stashed in the floor boards of my model A.
You remember? How old are you? 😊
@@TNitroH do the math, OP would be over 100yrs old
85k!! Stellantis has got to be joking. You can get a brand new Plaid for that kind of money.
But with worse fit and finish
You can save $20,000 and choose a Hyundai, a car that many people enjoy
I wouldn't buy *anything* from Stellantis.
Yes, you could buy a Plaid for that price. But then you wouldn't get a super slow user interface and the start/stop button.

I have a Tesla and this compared to a Tesla is not even close for that price for what you get. These should be priced a $40 grand at best.
