    $35k to $40k is unrealistic in today’s economy for a big awd sedan with almost 500hp. I bought my wife a Camry this summer and we had to shop around to get a Camry under $30k. Civics over $30k were the norm (and we live in the Great Lakes rust belt, not California or Miami).

      Pretty much all EVs are faster than gas cars. I was driving a rented Chevy Bolt a few months ago, and it was smoking all muscle cars from the starting line, and weaving in traffic was a blast. Gas cars just can't compete.

    • @Alan-tr5uj
      @Alan-tr5uj หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      That’s all conjecture at this point. I don’t believe anything TH-camrs spew into the ether for clout; Until one of these shows up with a V8 under the hood, or STLA says a V8 is coming- there’s no V8. They don’t need these as compliance cars to offset the turbo 6 models. The reality is this company is in crisis, and simply backtracking isn’t going to fix all the massive underlying problems that have been hanging over this company for several years now. Dodge still has a TON of 2023 V8 cars on lots that aren’t selling even with significant amounts taken off MSRP.

    • @khanmimaad
      @khanmimaad หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Alan-tr5uj Not conjecture at all, Stellantis has confirmed the gas variant is coming in 2025 with two 3.0L twin-turbo straight-six Hurricane engine options already found in other Stellantis brands since 2021, with either standard output 420 hp or high-output 550 hp that both make more hp and torque than the outgoing 5.7 and 6.4L HEMI, just like they’ve confirmed a 4-door sedan version is coming with all electric and gas options available. Go watch Out of Spec Review’s coverage of the Charger Daytona, featuring the guy in this video you’re commenting on, where Kyle Conner mentions at the end that all the Dodge spokespeople he talked to said “wait till you see the Sixpack (gas) version”.
      It’s wild that you’re commenting on this video but don’t know there’s going to be a gas option lmfao they would go out of business exclusively selling BEVs, it’s not 2018 anymore where everyone and their grandma wants an electric car

    • @RenlangRen

      @steved1387 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheLastMoccasin And how are those GM and Ford EV projects going? Selling like hotcakes, right?
      This is actually a case study in what happens when a lunatic CEO decides to destroy 4 brands at the same time by cutting costs through purchasing cheaper parts, then jacking the prices up by a third, laying off workers, closing plants, plus firing engineers and replacing them with cheaper overseas engineers. All this was done by one jagoff, Carlos Tavares, the former CEO of Stellantis. Let's see if Dodge cuts the price by 35%, and gets down to fixing some of the obvious software flaws and other glitches. This was a rather positive review. He said it was a nice car -- not perfect, but nice -- but way too expensive. It doesn't seem like there's any fatal flaw that can't be fixed, and it looks really good.

      I do also completely agree with all that you said about Mr. Tavares. I just don't think it affects the inevitable outcome for the company that much. Might make death come a little sooner, that's it.

From the ridiculous fake noise, to the weak overall design (interior and exterior), anemic performance and range, laggy electronics, and cheap materials, this thing has FAIL written all over it. And it's not worth anywhere NEAR what they're asking for it. This thing is just going to sit on the lot with the rest of Stellantis' junk and rot, which is right where it belongs.
    To be clear, I don't hate EVs. The ones that are done right are amazing. This Dodge...isn't. There are so many design fails and so much gimmicky BS it's hard to list it all. Whether you like or dislike Tesla, with the exception of the absolute train wreck that is the Cybertruck, they've nailed what an EV needs to be. There's a reason the Model Y is the best selling car on the planet. That was the bar...Dodge missed it by a mile.

    $70,000 for the Food Stamp version of the Charger. The cheapskate edition. For the Scat Pack, add an additional $15k. And no more range than my 1985 Chrysler Lebaron with a 13-gallon fuel tank. Supposedly, people are lining around the corner with deposits to be the first ones on the block to be seen driving one. And dealerships are tacking on humongous markups for that very reason. 😅😅😂

    I make well over six figures and I can't afford to get one of these. Gently used Mustangs, Camaros, chargers and challengers can be had for half of what this costs and they aren't necessarily disposable. I don't see people who want a muscle car even considering this.... and I honestly don't see hard core ev buyers going for it either.. I guess 😂😂😂. Why can't they build a lighter, smaller, faster EV muscle car and charge half the price? We are now buying cars for 70 thousand dollars. I honestly don't think I can ever do that unless it's a really high end piece, not just a whatever this is.. Scattered Pack. I think it looks good, I want to see what the ice cars wind up being, IDK man.

    After hearing the insane price of $70,000 for Dodge charger electric car is beyond the pale. You would think those guys would go out and buy a Tesla take it to the factory have their engineers drive it and then try to copy at least one thing from the TESLA. If the car leases for $100 a month that might be a different story. But I don't think anybody in their right mind would even buy a $40,000 model leave alone 70. What were they thinking?

  • @kqschwarz

    Personally, I love the looks of this car, but I will never get a 2-door car ever again (inconvenient and uncomfortable for rear seat occupants).
