The song is inspired by Marilyn Monroe, an actress who was heavily sexualized and exploited through her body by the media. Even though she was a self-made woman and very intelligent, her portrayal by the media dumbed her down and only focused on her body (meaning behind Minnie and Soyeon’s first verse). The music video sort of places them in her perspective, and the overall message is to criticize the media’s over sexualization of women’s bodies, including both the hateful and negative reproach women receive for showing their body, as well as the unwanted focus the media puts on it. It’s very powerful, very daring, and something very new to the Kpop scene!

For the part that you got confused about, the part about people having a dirty mind, when people hear the word ‘nude’, they only think of erotic and sexy image, but soyeon is just pointing out at the end that we are born nude and our nude self is just natural and is showing our natural selves, and that thinking only of such erotic images about nudity mean that we only got a dirty mind. That’s why they sing ‘i’m born nude, you got a dirty mind’
Same for soyeon’s rap part. She sings like, if y’all audiences expected something erotic, you came to the wrong the place. And it means that when gidle talks about nudity, it does not necessarily mean something erotic for the crowd. The whole song focuses on wanting to show our true selves and not just be the image created by the audience. Marilyn Monroe was a figure who was actually very smart and talented, but the people created an image of her being dumb and stupid with a sexy figure. So here in the song, it expresses that we show our portrayed image to the world, but we just want to be appreciated by being ourselves.
The lyrics and the mv have a lot of things that points out Monroe and her performances, so if you get to know her, you might appreciate the song even better. I kind of think you didn’t understand the song even one bit, so I definitely think you would have fun solving the puzzle behind the song if you tried. So don’t judge a song by listening it only once please :) well, i guess this song is too deep for your taste? tbh i don’t think I understood all of the song yet too, so i’m still having fun watching the mv and finding new elements

He can judge it only listening to it once because the lyrics were all over the place. Some people dont want to dig deep into a song history and I think they shouldn’t have to. I also am more found of song lyrics that are self explanatory without doing background research about. You don‘t have to be hurt he didn‘t like your favourites songs. You are doing him wrong here. However nice meaning nice content. Let‘s just all focus on our own interests and stop judging people for their taste in music :)

Someone said it somewhere else, but I'll repeat it here cause it's important! They
named the song "nude" be the members are called “children" in South Korea as a term of endearment so from now on whenever someone googles "child nudes" in Korean this will come up instead
AND ADDITIONALLY every time someone googles “idol nude” this will be the first thing to come up instead of anything else, like it’s so clever and amazing and they’re using their fame for GOOD and helping out their fellow idols I LOVE THEM

I think their name also comes up as "children" when translated into Korean because
      "Child" is "아이/ai"
and "들/deul" is the plural forn of a word. Their name G-Idle/Girl idol" is typed in Korean as how "idol" is pronounced so generated translations tend to misread it as "children." I'm sorry I'm not able to explain it well😭

Nude refers to being raw, being yourself in a way of acceptance. The persona here has to face people trying to see them as vulnerable as possible, but the trick thing is that they're not ashamed or being reluctant of doing so because they "were born nude", they're proud of who they're, they love themselves and others opinion doesn't really matter. The reference on Marilyn adds the fact that people only care about how nice she looked and stuff, trying to undress her to consume her beauty and sexiness, but in the end, her "nude self" was a strong and smart woman. Banksy come as someone who may perform art in a way in a trick way. His art referred in the MV is "Love is in the bin", which is basically his most notorious work "Ballon girl" displayed in a fancy frame. We all know what happens next, the displayment of a piece of art doesn't make it any special, destroying it was an act of making people think about the true value and message toward things. In our real world people got it wrong, wonder how much the irony of the piece added to its price, but in Soyeon mind it's a way to call out the value of things that we only see the visuals and look more inside of it. "How do I look?" is one of the keys of this comeback, and it's basically a way to call out what's the real me? I'm being dressed as someone that you want to see, or it's the real me? Thus, the real me call only be seen nude.
English is not my first language, but that's quite it.
Soyeon is the biggest treasure in kpop industry. Don't be shy to call her the best just because there's idols older than her in the industry. What she has done so far is beyond the standards and will probably force upcoming idols to work on their own music and concepts as people use I-dle success to validate meaning in k-group tracks.

Not every song needs to sound catchy, or need to have high notes or solid rap. The lyrics/message is the hero. The first listen to this song was sort of... jarring. And the second too. But putting the piece into an artistic, expressive context speaking out against the objectification of people in the media, and particularly woman, and using the term 'nude' to describe shedding off the 'clothes' (expectations) people put on you, and being your true, genuine self. Like the music or not, this is a piece of art, and it is one of the most important k-pop comebacks of the year. Soyeon is an undeniable genius, and once you start listening to the song you notice all these little unique things she does in the production that are just... so very clever and good. I really like the last part when soyeon sings "nude" the imagery presented there contrasts with everything else that happened since the mv began. It's so much simpler and without all the extravagance but it's like just simply saying "this is who I am" in a conversational tone. On the first listen, I didn’t love the song but I loved the concept. By the third listen, I was absolutely hooked. There are layers to the music that aren’t obvious on the first listen. It’s not a normal pop song. But I also like NCT so please give me that experimental stuff, and I’ll take it all day long.
I don’t get the confusion about the lyrics, though. They seem pretty clear to me. Think about the objectification of idols and especially of female bodies. Think about how context impacts changes the value of those commodified bodies. “Nude” can be naked as in without clothing or it can be “nude” as in “bare”. Them claiming to be “A nude” suggests they are works of art. There are layers, but even at the surface you can tell it’s about objectification and commodification and being forced into performing as a character defined by the public who will pay for them to remain in a box but then turn on them when they fail to fit that made up image.
To be fair, though, this wasn’t as bad as one reactor I watched who literally kept talking about how great they looked. They do look great, but that misses the entire point of the song. They aren’t asking “How do I look” because they want us to acknowledge that they are pretty. They are asking the public to examine their standards and expectations.
