I absolutely loved Casey James! The only reason he was criticized so vehemently was that Cara has dreams of him and he was so good looking that they just could not handle being lesser than him. Sorry judges.

I oculd have done without them fawning over him and making him take off his shirt. From what I have read, this kind of thing embarrasses him. And he has proven Simon wrong. He can sing and has charisma. Can't wait for his album.
He turned out to be one of the best idol contestants. One hell of a guitar player too but I agree with Simon here. This is a pretty bad audition. And this is John Mayer song too. Slow dancing in a burning room is a tragic tragic song, you can't just sing that like a bailiff reading a statement.
Simon was a bad judge. This proves it. Casey was top 5, the best one that year, I thought. Simon said no to Taylor Hicks and Daughtry too. And Simon said yes to a bunch of dead-end losers. Simon was a fun bully, but had a terrible eye for talent.
What an embarrassment of an audition. The judges were ridiculous here. Smh. He turned out to be one of the best singers that season and they didn’t even let him finish the song. Probably a bad song choice but still you could tell he was a good vocalist nonetheless
