I feel like its been a while since I've played with my own laser mining mod :) Now Livestreaming at: dw20.live/tw Follow me on Twitter: dw20.live/twitter
There are a few early game things that might help you out. 1) Silent's definitely has patterns for making hammers, lumber axes, and even paxels as well as various weapons and armor (lead armor is really useful for underwater stuff). 2) smelt up force logs instead of regular wood- the charcoal you get smelts 10 items instead of 8 that way, generating more power. 3) get that fortune upgrade ASAP for any of the gobber mod materials- the mining gadget can mine them all up despite them needing to be mined up by netherite+ tier picks. 4) look into Forcecraft some more- more specifically the infusion crafting mechanic- for some early game enchanting (though only for force tools and weapons)
Mods that add burning things that don't waste fuel are always amazing. I *hate* wasting fuel. I've also realized that every mod of yours is one of my favorites.
20k RF per charcoal in the charging gadget. 100 RF per light source. That means one piece of charcoal will turn into 200 light source sources. Talking about Dire and his love for overpowered mods 😁
Hi, I think your mining gadget should make some sort of popping sound when block(or set of blocks) gets mined/broken. That would give you an audio feedback which would make you more precise / more intuitive when to release mouse button / stop mining (kind of like a pick axe). Love your videos by the way!
two suggestions I would recommend... 1.) turn your main "valuables/ingots" storage chest into a Sophisticated Storage version of a chest and add a Crafting upgrade so you can craft right within the chest itself (since there is no tinkers and the normal Crafting Table can not see items in adjacent inventories), and 2.) Check out the Gober mod's Hammer and Lumber Axe items (the hammer mines a 3x3x1 area and the lumber axe chops down the entire tree for most tree variants). Obviously, you will want to eventually upgrade to automated creation of resources/wood, but in the early game it is really nice to have a non-powered set of tools to dig strip mines or tunnels in the Mining Dimension to begin gathering enough resources to start automating stuff. Also, Create is something I really do recommend looking into sooner rather than later as you can take the cobble from a Cobble Generator and turn that into many, many resources including Iron, Gold, Stone, Sand, Glass, Nether Quartz, and many more useful resources and building materials. create is also a really easy way to automate wood production (and processing into sticks, planks, etc)
Also wanted to add, the RF Tools Storage Scanner is a relatively early-game nice way to craft with all your storage and see what you've got. Set the radius high and pick/choose the inventories you want to see with the routable stars. Not real good with putting back into storage, but with the bug right now in the Functional Storage, it's good to see what you've got. At least until you can do a decent storage system. Also, put the nickel dust into your crafting grid and turn it into nickel grit. It can be smelted into ingots that way.
Bug in Functional Storage? I love the storage scanner, but I can never figure out how to reset it after changing my storage system. I'm always left with a bunch of entries that say [Removed], that I can't get rid of.
So long as it is the only block touching the ground, so you can place logs between trees, chop the extra bases down, and then use your saw on the last tree's base to chop them all down at once. Also, use iron as your tool rod and you'll get "Magnetic" as a tool trait which brings items to you.
Hey dire just saying press GRAVE KEY next to number 1. While braking stone. Can hold shift . Ftb utilities is the best. Uses food and durability on tool but can take entire tree. Or tinkers broadleaved axe.
Hey Dire, you can convert the nickle dust to grit in the crafting table. Also the "saw" from silents can take the trees down easy, I use uranium/yellowrite/power ingots to make most of my tools to begin with with diamond tips. I made a bank of nine Mekanism heat generators for passive energy to start since I found a nice chunk of osmium mining down to bedrock, but finding gold has sucked...found plenty of iron and tons of copper and tin.
Because of COURSE mining lasers :> And there was much rejoicing. And, yes, Dire, you are very cool. Oh, a suggestion for your mining gadget -- perhaps an upgrade that veins only the blocks you are looking at - kinda like vein miner. Such as in the tree, it will mine all the wood but not the leaves or grass until you let go of the button. Not all at once, but as you go. All this cool new stuff. I just went straight to Create asap because trains :> I found most of my lapis, et al, in some of the deeper large caves.
Cut down the Force trees and cook them into golden power source. They last double the amount of time in generators and furnaces. Also cooks a bit faster.
I was hesitant to try out the Mining Laser though once I saw the auto lighting functioning I was sold! Mining laser plus Pocket Storage is mining heaven!
*sigh* Older Direwolf series, it was an accomplishment to get a quarry up and running. Either a crawler, or strip miner one had to manually move. These days, episode 3, QUARRY IN A TOOL!
@@paulnieuwkamp8067 Huh, I hadn't thought of that distinction. Wait, I did. Hyperbole, look it up. His mining tool is often faster, uses far less energy, easier to produce, easier to set up, easier to filter, easier to process, and far easier to target for specific materials than a quarry of old. Why would anyone want to go through the trouble of setting up all the automation required and find a location to set up and worry about block loaders when one can get more mats that one can use with this? Hence, "Quarry in a tool!"
@@greyed Why anyone would bother? Because, and bear with me for a moment here: Quarries run without the user having to do anything... I didn't know how else to share that with you so I thought a comment would work. Anyway, love all of your packs and the letsplay series, been watching for years, from way back in the ComputerCraft days. Cheers - Allie
get power ingots and power sword/axe, they are just like diamond (at least power axe was even better for combat) but cannot be enchanted and have some cool effects
What would be absolutely terrific would be the app actually working. Played for just over 8 hours yesterday and the app no longer works. Have to upgrade to a Beta release that only includes some fix for Xycraft, a mod I don't care about, just so the game will run. How do you take out one item from a stack out of the chests? Never found key combination to do that. Always either take whole stack or half a stack...
