It's even more annoying to use Soul's Wick than you think. You have to unsocket your spell echo, or it spell echo's when you're trying to summon the spectre and makes a random zombie. Additionally, you probably have to turn off a bunch of auras, because the mana cost will be too high with your auras on to actually summon spectres, even with the reduced cost. Also, by the time you summon 6 spectres, the first ones you summoned are almost done their duration. It is absolutely awful using soul's wick outside boss fights, even then it sucks tbh. Literally: 1. Turn off Auras for mana 2. Unsocket Spell Echo 3. Remove any auto-cast offering, or it will eat your desecrate corpses 4. hold corpse target button, mouse around screen to get a goat and not a default skeleton 5. Click 6 goats I promise by the time you click #6 you'll already be 10 seconds deep, and your first spectre is about to run out of duration. When he does, you're gonna have to turn off your aura's mid-map, unsocket your offering, take out spell echo, and do it again.
Thanks for sharing Ethan, looks interesting if you stumble across a few of the important uniques or if they're relatively cheap early. Definitely looks like I'm running heist for day 1-2.
soulswick is a pob dps trap actually keeping them up and casting them while mapping while alt hovering over the corpses is super awkward once you do maps where you have mob corpses lying everywhere
If you have to summon the spectres constantly that won't work because of how spectres work. Yes you can raise your spectre where you want but you have to fish around for it after casting desecrate to pick the right one.

i thing you should go turong instead of goatman for levelling. It's pretty much immortal and the clear is very good. Not to mention one of their 2 attack got a 100% chance to ignite and 150% more burning, it might do decent burning early
unless im remembering incorrectly but you aren't garuanteed to get only your spectre corpse when desecrating no? so soul's wick is still a massive meme because im not going to stand still and corpse target then check to see if im highlighting the correct corpse 9 times every twenty seconds. Unless there's a way to resummon your spectres garuanteed that im not aware of this just sounds like a death sentence to me
Gave this a try, seemed fun to mess with for a Sunday morning... So far I find weird that in PoB, you have "20% incr effect of Offerings" as well as "Vitality has 100% incr Mana Reservation efficiency" and you don't use Vitality or any Offering.
I'd like to mention on the topic of brittle - it will now properly scale with ailment effect so we could get it to be higher than 2% at least if we have some. Unsure where to get it though but it's interesting!
Souls wick with minion instability and cwc cyclone summon specter, combustion, elemental army, increased crit, minion life. Intentionally leverage take more damage to kill them faster. Poor minion auto bomber?
Any thoughts on a Support Spectre to go along with the Goats? Use it as a pseudo AG. Or should I assume you just want big boy damage and clear from the Goats period and they don't "need" any support from another Spectre...that would instead be a setback.
Souls wick can only be used with Flicker shades from phantasmal desecrate, re summoning spectres is impossible in the middle of doing anything... the reason it works with phantasmal desecrate, is that you can just cover everything in flicker shade corpses when you get its quality to over 100%, so your 99% guaranteed to summon one when you cast raise spectre th-cam.com/video/wyFaqhgrK3k/w-d-xo.html here's that concept in action, from last league.
This build is pure garbage. Trying to summon specific spectres with soul's wick is'nt viable at all, hell a struggle. + it's really squish with subpar dps. Soul's wick is made for minion instability. Nothing else.
Comparing spectres to zombies isnt really fair because zombies deal very little dmg, comparing it with skellies, carrion or aw is better imo, please consider it for the next time. Is there any other spectre you are interested? Im looking into pale angels with explode ignite prolif, its possible, or demon herders. cheers!
no desecrate will have monsters from the sector, and your goats, so it's gonna take multiple casts of desecrate to get your spectres back, in the end you'll spend more time re-summoning your spectres, than actually playing, it's too much micromanagement, not worth it.
I'm feeling that wraithlord is all right, but soulwick is unconventional to me at least. When I play minion builds is most likely because I like the QoL and chill gameplay, I'd go for other min maxing ways later on without soulwick, while keeping the QoL. (Or an entirely different minion build if I'm not feeling the dmg)
the helmet dissables non specter minions, and slavedrivers already died way to much even with 100+ ex/divine geare, slave drivers are WAY to squishy to take into endgame, especialy since specter gem lost EVEN MORE lvls....
Kinda disappointing really, for leveling & early mapping it seems viable enough (i tried various options as well in pob), it just falls off really hard after that, souls wick is not the play, it's abysmal really, having to resummon your only source of damage, every 20 secs, you're gonna end up re-summoning your spectres more than the time they'll be alive :/ I think the new wraithlord dream is dead for now.
this is so misleading for noobs. pls update it. you cant use the temporary spectres nowhere. your desecrate always produces corpses from the map or hideout so you dont raise the spectres you want, instead you raise trash mobs that dont do anything. second of all midnight bargain is unusable, because you have to sacrifice life for it to use it. ticking some checkmarks and think it works like that ingame is just bs. and bosses will take ages on it as well, cause projectiles that cant shotgun are just bad. i dont mean to hate, but when new players come and watch this, will think oh 8 million dmg budged lets go, where in reallity you deal at max 3 million with everything up including vaal haste. so they will suffer through everything and throw the game away and never return. especially equipping 2 midnight bargains like come on man...1k health in maps lets go!?
I mean, he did say it was a meme build and he isn't using the items in his pob. He is just sharing ideas. Also, "Raise Spectre's most recent monster types are now saved to your character and may be Desecrated" Will still be clunky to use, but it is possible to use it for bossing with enough duration and resummoning during immunity phases. The availability of crit multi for minions in this patch will make this better.
too much work to resummon every map.. If you are ok with resummoning every map then poison animate weapon is way better,, but that has a shit play style.. this sounds the same.. like imagine if you do 100 maps.. you have to summon 700 spectres.. wtf... Anyway rly interesting build good job !

I made the mistake to league start animate weapon once and hated my life.. ended up doing a yellow maps full respec which costed a lot.. :( if you don't have fun playing.. what's the point..
Seriously doubt you can do a map in 20s with all the mechanics they throw at us nowadays. You'd need to resummon them like 3-4 times per map at least. Also you'd have to probably use like 4-7 desecrates to get the 9 spectres of yours so by the time you summon 9th spectre probably your 1st gonna already be almost gone.

to get brittle you can get brittle ground on boots while using the endgame bosses currency (one of 2 searing exarch or eater of worlds)
I am really excited for Diallia Malefection for minion builds now, quality off the charts and +2 levels will be very interesting

soulwick would work in 2 scenarios. if duration would be over 5 min or if you could lock the spectre to only raise the one you wanted
they should just remove the duration. they are already locked to the zone. no need for this timer that does nothing but make it borderline unplayable.
Souls wick is just a no go on an only spectres build. Putting that up is literally pointless. But other than that it looks okay.
I can't wait to run spectres that don't die every five minutes. Tried fire raisers last league and they just would die sadge

so we have 7 spectres maximum now? omg I will play primal crushclaw lol
it's gonna be really hard to scale them for endgame, 2-5mil is about as high as i can get them in pob.
