Our little autistic grandson is 16 years old today. No he won’t be getting his drivers license, nor will he be one of those lucky 16 year old kids that gets a car for his 16th birthday. But he has come so far and has been able to do things we were told he would never do. He seems to function almost identical to Abby. You know I watch him and think how wonderful it must be to feel so content and to see just how genuinely happy he is.

This video is awesome. I've lived my whole life in South Dakota. I lived 1 mile from the campground you stayed at in Rapid City and walked passed it every day this summer. I know the path you walked on in Rapid City and I walked it many times. Also the smell on that path is from the turkey vultures that roost in those trees every night in the summer. Seeing your videos of my home makes me so happy! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us!

You picked a great place to road trip and camp, South Dakota is beautiful and lots of touristy things to do. Wal Drug is overwhelming but my absolute favorite stop was in Mitchell S.D. at the corn palace, and Deadwood S.D. has a ton of history to the little town! Safe travels!!

I have heard the story of my family camping in a popup camper in the Ozarks (southern Missouri/northern Arkansas) in 1969/70-ish and it rained the entire trip. Apparently my brother also wet the bed several nights and we were soaked every day because...rain and pee. My parents spent every day washing clothes. You have a GREAT setup, LOL!
Looks like so much fun. As a mom of a child with Lyme disease when you can wash soap up good from head to toes will get ticks off. Especially Abbie. I may have to go there now

Honeysuckle is my favourite smell too Cilla. Growing up there was a honeysuckle tree growing underneath my bedroom window. Every June/July when it was blooming the smell of it would come in through my window at night and I looked forward to it every year. The smell reminds me of my parents who have both passed now.
I love seeing this. We used to live in Spearfish, SD. It’s a beautiful place. There’s some good hiking around there in the Black Hills National Forest.

My mom and I have been through Wall South Dakota, and the only thing we liked about it was the Wall Drug store, they also have really neat book store inside. We also went to Mount Rushmore, and we saw the last surviving Man, that helped in grave the four heads of the presidents on the mountain, he was signing books.
