Whenever I see a truck like this on the road, it's being used as a truck. It's no pavement princess with an unused bed. It's dirty, it's dinged up, and it's rolling along asking for more. The only thing that can kill these is rust.
I literally bought a 88 f250 4x4 with 81k and a 351w 4 speed today. Very minimal rust. Runs and drives. I paid almost nothing. He just needed the truck gone from that parking space.
Nice, honest old truck. I've always loved how the Ford trucks handled a load; just look, it's loaded to the top of the bed sides with wood & it's sitting level!
I had a dinged up 1994 F250HD as in heavy duty. It was a regular cab 2wd with the 300-6 and ZF heavy duty 5 speed manual transmission. It had a 4.10 rear axle ratio and it could tow a house. I bought it for $950 in summer of 2006 and drove it some in 2006 to 2007 until I bought a 2.3 5 speed 2004 Ranger for pizza delivery. The amount I saved in gasoline per month in the Ranger was more than the Ranger payment. After the price of gasoline went down I again drove the F250HD in 2010 while I did some maintenance to the Ranger. Then the clutch slave failed in the F250HD and sadly I sold it for $500 around 2013 after I was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease. Oh boy of all of the 20+ trucks I’ve owned I wish I still had that F250HD. I’d love to find another one like it with 4wd.
I have a 1992 Flareside with the 4.9 liter straight 6 and 5 speed. If you put anything on the bench seat you need to be very delicate with the brakes or it will all fly onto the floor!
I have been refurbishing an '05 V6 4.0l SOHC Ford Courier hi-lift/hi-rider RWD crew cab ute with a tray. I've replaced the cooling system and most engine seals, replaced the old clutch fan with twin electrics, and rewired a lot of the engine bay. I'm now onto the suspension. New upper control arms, heavy-duty gas shocks, Nolathane stabiliser bushes, new bushes in the rear. Basically a rebuild but it'll be my home as well my mobile workshop. Full solar, genset. compressor, welder, etc etc.
Some guy who lives in my town has a 90's F350 Crew Cab Long Bed with a 460 in it and commonly hauls lots of stuff with it. It has soem exhaust work done to it and can be heard for miles. Beautiful looking and sounding truck
i had the same truck just red and single cab ,had a rebuilt trans and original engine blew a head gasket on me at 518,000 miles, best truck i ever owned
Also my favorite body style, I have a '93 7.3 idi with the ZF 5 Speed extended cab 8' bed , she need some welding and a fuel tank . She's the one I love 💘
There was an option to get the air ride captain chairs with built in arm rests and they were the most comfortable ride in the world. I hope one day you can experience one of these with the 7.3 and a five speed manual. The most fun thing to drive
First hand experience. If your willing to stack it, and add sideboards. You can move 1.25 cords. With no trailer. Just dont expect to do it fast. Side sway in corners is very real.
I was born in 1997 and I think it boggles my mind that cars my age are now qualified to be classic cars. I hate it. But it sure is nice seeing so many 90s era vehicles on the road today
All cars and trucks are more complicated today when computers run the vehicles and all the electronic gadgets. Unfortunately, this means their is little do it yourself on modern cars since their are few mechanical things you can do
My 88 he is a beast... Love my 7.5.. 460.. pulls my 40' 5th wheel.. and has hauled 1,000s of cords of wood... All super cabs are hd.... Single cabs are not
Ya see these are what I call trucks this Is what a truck was suppose to be for work and work only I tell ya I can’t stand any new trucks there massive and stupidly expensive and most people don’t even use them for what there intended drives me fucking crazy!
New 1997 F150 debuted in early 1997 but the old style F250 and F350 continued through the 1997 model year. New F250 and F350 design debuted as 1998 models.

Except in the South! They'll last forever down here
Oh fr I have a 96 f250 XLT with the 7.5 and it was a farm truck before I got it. It's got some rust cause it came from up north but I love it!

Over my 75 years and dozens of vehicles, the 1997 Ford F-Series was by far and away my favorite vehicle. Tough, reliable, comfortable.

@@kevinragsdale6256 nice I used to have a 1969 f-250 with a 390. I love old trucks!

Wow, didn't take me but about 5 minutes to decide to subscribe. Lots of facts thrown into the review, not just observations or jokes.

My favorite generation of the F series is the dentsides from the 70s. And I agree trucks aren't work horses anymore and are just overcomplicated

Also that year was the new oval designed f150. So it was a mix of classic and the rise of newer modern cars in one year.
The styling of Ford from 1994-2014 were the best. They all looked so muscular
It's known as OBS but more specifically the 92 to 97 obs is the "aero nose".
Obs ford 1993 to 1997 gas and Diesel greatest truck on the planet

Love these old F-Series so dang much
Thank gosh a truck with no super large rims with the thinnest tires imaginable
Had my 92 for 5 years now thing will not die
Some of these exterior shots are reminding me of the texas chain saw massacre.
I'm lucky enough to own a pristine 93' F-150 with only 71600 original miles. 302 V8 XLT. Wouldn't trade it for anything
Yea man, that’s one of the best!
I have a 1988 f250. 3/4 ton. Manual trans.
GREAT TRUCK

What diff did ford use for the front differential on a 1997 f250hd 7.3? I read that it uses a 10.25 in the rear and people call them sterling 10.25
So with the interior they do have cup holders but only in ones with the fold down center console. Have the power stoke of the same year
Beautiful chaste truck :)
Now we just have to get you up here to drive my Powerstroke lol
Nice
I can smell gas from here
How can I get you to review my 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid?
Submit it to my website! Zack Pradel.com/submit

IMO, this looks outdated for 1997. Maybe it's because the F-150 was redesigned in 1997 and became rounder.
Yep. The Super Dutys didn't get updated until later. Same with the Silverado HD's.

The basic body and frame goes back to 1979. Ford just refreshed the styling every few years.

New design was the 1980 model.
Outdated in a good way
Wow, my 1995 Chevrolet c1500 has a bigger single tank
