I've worked with my wife off and on for the better part of 20 years now - since even before we started dating. We really enjoy working together and we do it well - but it is HARD to turn it off at night. As a creative, i feel like its important for the other person to at least challenge whatever ideas spring forth. It'll put into perspective why the idea is good, and sometimes new ideas come about from the challenge...at least in my experience. I wouldn't want a creative partner that'd go with every single one of my ideas in a heartbeat.

100% can relate. We run the same channel together + an agency and feel the same way as you guys. Because we know eachother so well we get into so many fights due to assuming what the other person thinks. Correctly guessing what your partner thinks works in everyday situations like "You wanna grab McDonalds because f*** cooking right now?" but not if you are doing creative work for a client. You got a deadline, you have some must-have shots, it might be super hot or super cold outside,.... so many stress factors pile up and if you don't communicate properly it just ends up being a unejoyable mess.

If you didn't have any creative differences and 'butt heads' every so often, you would not grow as a creative and a couple. Understanding that you have enough faith in your relationship to be able to challenge each other creatively, allows you both to grow.
