This was literally perfect timing, I have my own brand and have been struggling with the creative side and only making stuff that I think people want, instead of just making shit I like. No point in doing it day to day if you don't get to make shit you love!

Remembering to have fun with a project like this is so important. Whenever starting a business venture, things WILL get rough. Remembering that joy you felt when you started will help you keep pushing.
I wanna see us all succeed!!!!

Clocks & Colours is a brand that I will always stand behind - not only because of the gorgeous work they do, but because of their philosophy as artists - following your gut
As an artist and art TH-camr, my creative process is defined by that philosophy
Awesome partnership - one more reason I’m so proud to be Canadian
    My love to you both.

This video made me smile :-) Just another independent creative here looking down at the ring I bought in Ubud, Bali, which was my first stop on a 3 month adventure backpacking Asia after I decided to quit my day job in San Francisco and set out on my own creative journey. 4 years independent this week!

  • @elohbeoh8107

Clocks & Colours changed my life. When I discovered the brand it inspired me to push my skateboard brand I'm building. Sirius Skateboards. I had issues with local skaters pushing their logo with a star and it resembled mines so we bumped heads. But over time I realized I can use a star the way you guys do on rings and not as a logo. I even decided when I push my next drop I will use letters for the logo as clocks and colours does. Eventually I will grow as a brand and collab with those who bumped heads at first. Everything has a positive side if you follow the stars guidance.

"..I wasn't really concerned, like if this is gonna become a real business or anything. I just wanted something where I could make some cool products that I was into."
In my humble opinion, this is the biggest take away. Too often we hear things like "make stuff with your customer/audience in mind". While that has it's place, it can be limiting in the creative space. Build a brand that's for you. There are almost 8 billion peeps roaming the planet. Someone will be down. Chase what makes you happy. Not what makes others.

An enlightening video, to say the least...
Creators and artists are meant to create and bring value into this world through their projects.
When you create a piece of art, a business even a cup of coffee, you put a piece of your energy in it.
To build a cult following, people who want to be around you and your brand you should tell your own story.
Don't try to write someone else's story...
    Align ...
I just saw that you are connected to etah love ! I love the philosophy and the pieces of the brand ! keep going

My whole journey in jewellery started with a ring, bought in Dresden. It originally came from Bali too. The stone cracked after hitting something harder 😏 I took it to a goldsmith and swapped the stone with a blue Topaz with some personal changes to make it fully mine. Wearing it since 5 years and confirm stones have an affect on you

Inspiration is a funny thing... being inspired.
I too am taking a journey of personal crreation, taking my own work, my own art and trying to make something with it. Tonight I have listened to Adma Savage from tested, give advice to his thirty year old self, that was solid (no, I'm not 30, I'm 51) and one of the first things I thought after I heard it... other than being inspired was... I want his t shirt.
And then this video comes up, and I always enjoy the content and knowing a bit about your journey I knew it would be inspiring.. and at once of the first things I thought was... I need a ring.
Now sadly, I don;t have the funds for either... breaking out alone in my current situation means I am living on a shoe string...
But, I will be heading ack to south east asia myself next year and when i do, you can bet your life I'll be having a ring made, and a t shirt printed :D
    Great video... very inspiring.

Hey Pete! When you use a Mic placed that close, it’s really sensitive to pops from “p” or “h” sounds… try using an eq with a hi pass (low cut) around 100hz or maybe a touch higher… it’ll help mitigate that “thump” in the low end of speech.🤗 appreciate your videos so much dude

Ubud has always been ‘famous’ within Balinese culture and also amongst Australians. Walter Spies was one of the first, & most prominent, westerners to call Bali home, in the 1950’s, and he lived in Ubud. The ‘Kingdom’ of Ubud is the second wealthiest in Bali and it is also fiercely protective of maintaining its culture and ‘controlling’ its commerce. Selamat malam 🙏
