I love that,with all the people there including the audience, Ade tells his story to his long-time friend Dawn.. and probably she has heard this story (at least) once before and yet she reacts with the perfect surprise and enjoyment that you would wish from a friend. It was beautiful to see them on the couch together. ♥
Back in 1991 I was lucky enough to see Ade Edmondson and Rik Mayall in Waiting For Godot in the West End. They played the lead roles Estragon and Vladimir and did so in a way that was very reminiscent of their Young Ones characters. Enjoyed it immensely. Actually I also remember that Chris Ryan (Mike) was also in it in a minor role (Lucky I think).

God bless him. We were peers, but I never met him, when studying in Manchester. Similar/same ages. Him, Rick, Jennifer and dawn have special places in my heart and I feel they are family.
I hope the British folk here are aware of the low key impact The Young Ones had here in America...it was a little obscure, it wasn't on all the time, but for those of us who found it, we fell in love and stuck with it for as long as possible...

Every time I watch "The Young Ones" and "Bottom" I paralyze by the genius of the comedians in it. Adrian Edmondson is quite unique!!! What kind of people haven't given him any awards yet?????
I watched The Young Ones back in the day on MTV. Little did I know my future husband was watching it across town loving it as well. We told our children about it. When they were teens we found the DVD. They love it too. They're grown adults now. As a family we still quote lines from it. Yes, we Americans love The Young Ones.

Fast forward 20 yrs, I become a fan of the VoD, and eventually watch most of the episodes. And only now am I making this connection.😅 I'd have recognized him as Frank before Viv😅
Went to see ade last night at thr symphony hall Birmingham he was absolutely brilliant will always have love in my heart for ade and rik rest his soul❤
I loved growing up in the 90s. British and Irish comedy was peak. I count myself as lucky. Growing up on shows like only fools, father ted, red dwarf, britta empire, Alan Partridge and Bottom. We was unmatched in the sitcom world.
