Flesh to Fill Your Wounds is actually insane. One of the best songs they’ve ever written, in my opinion. It touches everything they do well in one song. ::chefs kiss::
Apparently someone leaked it the day before Brendan was going to lol. He was impressed. I'm in the same boat as you, Counterparts means the world to me and this album will stay with me like their previous ones. The title track made me tear up and Mass grave of saints just floored me. the theme of saying goodbye to Loved ones, Pets, Friendships, relationships. it all hit me. My Nana passed in in June and this album came out on the 23rd anniversary of my Grandpa's passing. this album is AOTY for me no doubt.
I don't think i've ever listened to a full album without experiencing a disconnect at some point. Listening to this for the first time managed to keep me engaged throughout the whole thing and for sure was my album of the year. I discovered counterparts a few months before this release when i heard unwavering vow over the summer and like u said, its definitely one of the best tracks in the genre. With time, I listened to ynyam and nothing left to love and those have also had the same effect as this album. Really glad to have discovered what now is one of my new favorite bands for sure
Will always be my favourite band. Nothing else comes close in terms of mixing heaviness and beautiful melody. This is probably my second favourite album now. After The Difference Between Hell and Home of course.
Soil 2 feels like getting a hug from an old friend you haven't seen in ages

Yessir the highlights here are PLENTIFUL.
this records a fucking rollercoaster bro… one of the best ive ever heard
This is correct.
heartbreaking, so much sorrow, so much beauty... album is honestly otherworldy.
The conflicted feelings of sadness, uplifting moments, hype, good vibes, anger and wanting to throw down is so emotionally draining but satisfying
Nailed it!
Honestly my favourite Counterparts reaction ever. I can feel your excitement and nostalgia with Soil II. You need to do some more!
Hell yeah, glad you enjoyed it! If something of this caliber pops up I'll gladly do it.
