One of the famous composition by Cole Porter.
In this my "version" there are many "Changes and Notes" of the melody, that does not exist on the original, even though I've learned that you should never change the melody, at least in the first verses.....this time I ignored the theory :-)

    More informations:
"Night and Day" (Jazz Standard) is a popular song by Cole Porter. It was written for the 1932 musical play Gay Divorce, and is perhaps Porter's most popular contribution to the Great American Songbook.
Fred Astaire introduced "Night and Day" on stage, and his recording of the song was a #1 hit. He performed it again in the 1934 film version of the show, renamed The Gay Divorcee, and it became one of his signature pieces. The song itself became an American standard and has been recorded by dozens of artists.
Porter was known to claim that the Islamic call to worship he heard on a trip to Morocco inspired the song.[1]
The song was so associated with Porter that when Hollywood first filmed his life story in 1946, the movie was entitled Night and Day.
"Night and Day" has been recorded many times, notably by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and U2.
Sinatra recorded the song five times; with Axel Stordahl in his first solo session in 1942 and again with him in 1947; with Nelson Riddle in 1956 for A Swingin' Affair!, with Don Costa in 1961 for Sinatra and Strings (considered by many to be the best version)[citation needed], and even a disco version with Joe Beck in 1977.
Fitzgerald's most celebrated recording of the song occurred on her 1956 album Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Cole Porter Songbook. The song was recorded by Ringo Starr in 1970 for its first solo album "Sentimental Journey". It was then recorded in 1982 as a one-off collaboration between Tracey Thorn with student friend Ben Watt as Everything But The Girl; subsequently the duo became a well established pop act.
The song was recorded by U2 in 1990 and appeared on the Red Hot + Blue compilation album. Thomas Anders (of Modern Talking fame) recorded his version in 1997 on the album Live Concert. Rod Stewart recorded a version for his 2004 album Stardust: the Great American Songbook 3. A rendition was recorded by The Temptations and the version is features in and on the soundtrack for the 2000 movie What Women Want.
"Night and Day" also reappeared on the American pop charts in 1967 done by Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66.
In 2004, a version of "Night and Day" was included in the biographical film about Cole Porter, De-Lovely, sung by John Barrowman and Kevin Kline. The song was also recorded in 2005 by Sondre Lerche on his album Duper Sessions. In 2007 it was recorded by Bebel Gilberto with a bossa nova approach on her album Memento.
The Colts Drum and Bugle Corps is using "Night and Day" for their 2008 show.

I was recently diagnosed with severe ADHD and today is my first day taking meds for it. My wjole life has been a constsnr barrage of thoughts and clutter in my head and this moment, just now, was the first time in my life i've ever been 100% at peace and I shed teats while listening to this with not a care in my mind. Thank you stranger, for this wonderful memory.

Dont get the ADHD stigma into your mind, everyone of us has a little bit of these kind of struggles everyday, my suggestion take 2-3 hours everyday cut internet iphone from your life and do just one little thing that makes you smile.

Ive been playing drums for 45 years. I am 54 now and play in the Detroit area. I started playing piano a few years ago to expand my musicianship. It has mad a big difference in my drumming being more musical. Your improv is beautiful as well as your touch. If I could start over I would choose piano. Now I still practice drums everyday and have become proficient but I would love to play piano like you. Great job.

I am convinced that it is never too late, because learning a musical instrument should be available for first-line for personal enjoyment, therefore, to give joy to the soul. Then if one wants to learn just to prove to the listener to be a good musician, I think that music then takes a materialist form of listening, so with little or almost nothing of the soul ..... So I say, if you love music and play instruments, do not hesitate, take the liberty to get started right away without stopping age.

You are what a quiet, midnight pub needs. Single man slouched over a double Scotch whiskey at the bar, white-haired bartender drying a wine glass three chairs down, and you on the piano - sitting there and playing your soul out on an old, upright Steinway. Play on, man.

No it is never too late. My old piano teacher started playing piano at 15 years of age, and managed to get his grade 5 within roughly 6-7 months!! That teacher was awesome too! He played at top hotels including the Ritz, and got an Honours in music.

Thanks for the inspirational response, really appreciate it. Music has been something that has always dragged me in. Perhaps it's my calling, despite being a late bloomer. I've always half-assed majority of things in life to this point. Really want to change that and have something in my life that I can say, "I'm proud of what I achieved."

I have been looking for a rendition of Night and Day that feels as good as the version in the movie Now Voyager. That was played as background to a party in the second half of the movie.
    This rendition exceeds that. Bravo

Jazz and Classical demonstrate the same amount of talent and beauty, but in different Genres. Sometimes I wish we could break the boundaries of music and just call it all "Beauty" so there's no imperfection of the Genre, only beauty remains. In a sense, both are amazing because they demonstrate talent and challenges the player to be able to read and hear it right. Playing piano for 2 years and having a musical family, I am knowing of this. Continue with your good works and play on!

i'm a hard-rocker in general so it's something new for me. its a welcome change to all the strong beats, the hectic guitar solos and those things.

I started playing exactly one year ago at 20 and still love it.
You need to pick an instrument that you absolutely love. I played clarinet, drums, and trumpet before landing on the piano.
In those 12 months, I can play "Never Forget" and "Epilogue/Ghosts and Glass" from Halo, The "Red Army theme" from World At War, "My Heart Will go on " from Titanic, and "River Flows in You" from twilight.
We're talking a couple of hours a week, all self-taught.
If you love it, there is no minimum age.

  • @mirrorpiece

@PianistaItaliano True right? music is about understanding. When you start to understand a piano, that is when you can play with your heart and it gets fun. That goes for all instruments.
