I usually have insomnia. But, every night. When, I listen to your covers. I can easily sleep. Cause, the way you play is so peaceful. Thankyou for helping me out.
You are creating an ambiance, not just playing music. As I perceive your music, it's a whole ambiance you are creating-I hope that people have ever appreciated your unique genius, Alfonso. If there is one to do so, it's me. Humbly so, Pierre
Peter Fritz Walter totally agree amazing gift Iam a pianist and just admire this beautiful pure majestic way of playing . Congrats Alfonso and thanks for your talent
Theres something about the simplicity of the melody line of moon river, that makes me sink deep into all kind of of emotions. Bitter and sweet at the same time! - Beautiful playing. Very inspiring.
E 9 flat 5th I mean with the thumb on the b on the sixth string and shifted down on the "wider than a mile". I don't know if you've ever experienced with it but it sounds quite sophisticated IMO.
I see why people like your music so much my friend, your style is really one of a kind. It was a pleasure working with you Alfonso. Looking forward to doing some more of my songs with you!!!
0:39 makes me cry every time, I love how less notes in a broken chord can be so impacting, do you have the raw .wav or .mp3 of this cover? I just need this in my music library. The only version I've found better than Aoi Teshima's.
A great tune I recommend PianistaItaliano is An Affair to Remember from the 1957 film with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. You've probably got a video on here with it that I haven't see! There's a Japanese pianist who plays it quite beautifully on here check it out. It's a staple of my jazz guitar playing like Moon River, there's not many guitarists who play it though! It's something like it begins with F major 7, F diminished, E minor 7 E flat 6, G minor 7, C 7, F major, then D minor, G 7, E minor 7, A 7, D minor 7, G 7, G minor 7, C alt. Then repeat beginning but after the first C 7 then A minor 7 flat 5, D alt, G minor 11, B min major 7, A minor 7 D 7, G minor 7 C alt etc. That's how I interpreted it anyway.
This is absolutely beautiful...nnie harmonization...lush chords... I've been essentially into classical music piano and I would like to learn to play such cool jazz... Just don't know what to start with... Any tip, clue ?
It is more than beautiful. Can you please share how do you get this good quality of audio out of vst? How do you edit the sound ( EQ / Compressor) ? Thank you.☺
Thanks! I did not so much, the piano is the "Best Service Galaxy Vintage D" from this piano I used the preset "Intimate" the record is with Logic pro (mac) thant's all. I hope this help
Wonderfull ! Thanks for the heartfull music/arrangement/atmosphere, and convicing me to buy the Vintage D for my jazz influenced compositions. Is it a preset you are using (also on fly me to the moon) or is it from personal settings ?
Alfonso, I clicked through for the PDF but it shows me the overall site with a lot of content. Can you please give me a direct link to the PDF. I really love this tune, and would like to play it, if possible:) Thanks in advance, Pierre
Thanks. The keyboard is yamaha dgx 620, but the sound is from the Galaxy Steimway D, Bestservice. For more info just give a look to my other video "Fly me in to The Moon"
Pretty sure I alone can take responsibility for at least a thousand of the views! Seriously want to learn to play like this! Been playing hymns and such only by ear for about twelve years now and just starting to discover the beauty in this type of jazz. How long did it take you to be so good? And do you read music? Thanks :)
The same question that you did, I had often, then, how long it takes to learn..... I say it is hard to tell a specified period, this all depends on the way as you learn, what you learn, and how much time you invest to learn. I have seen people who have studied only a few years, and when they make the music the sound is wonderful. It is passion, willingness to do, but especially when you learn you have to be aware and certain of what you looking for in the music. Read music is a big advantage, because this brings you to the goal you seek even more quickly, but not only to learn melodies or harmony advanced, but mostly reading helps in the division of time, learn the rhythmic cells, which are essential in play the music. However, reading is an advantage, but unfortunately that's not all, the interpretation is very limited on the score, it all depends on you how you interpret the music . Read helps me when I have to learn a melody, a new song, as I often do with real jazz book, but then once I learned the song, I close the book and memorize it in mind, and I begin to harmonize otherwise, change the character song, I create an introduction and a final, I do this without a book, I try to make the song as in my personal view. I hope I was clear :-)
That's very interesting! :) am a very musical person and when I sit down at the piano to read music, I always find myself switching over to playing by ear cause I can't help it. But if it'd make me learn to play like you, I guess it's worth it :) Well keep doing what you're doing and don't stop uploading! Love your music
Sounds lovely thanks. You play this in D major right? I'm a guitarist and learned it in C but I actually think on the jazz guitar it sounds better in B major actually. I play B 6 9, E major 7 then a E 7 flat 5th, D 7 flat 5th. C 7 flat 5th to B major 7 on the part where it goes from the 4 chord down in "wider than a mile" part. It gives a more altered sound, not as sweet sounding as yours Italinao but also sounds great. I got it from Tommy Emmanuel who said he learned it from a pianist at a bar in Melbourne.

Your playing and melody both are very sooting!!
Which VST sampled piano sound is this?

Beautiful nuanced playing, may I ask if your left leg is using other pedal? Or is it just tapping to the rhythm :)
