Great interview. I think, had he won S., he would have been a force to reckon with on the Eurovision stage, not just because of the message of his song, where immigrants from outside the so-called west, especially those from Arab countries, can really identify with its lyrics, but also because of the whole situation in Gaza right now and people solidarizing with Palestine. And it would have been a real competitor to Israel's propaganda song in the televote. Yet, some right-wingers chose the 2nd song in the Superfinal (that's why Superfinals shouldn't exist, neither should national finals like BF up until now, where they're revealing the semi-final results before the final is taking place), not because they liked Hera Björk's song, but because they voted against his song. Just like with Austria 2012, where Trashittaz won due to the anti Conchita vote, or BF 2023, where Blanca Paloma won due to the anti Agoney vote. All 3 of these songs (not so) coincidentally finished last place. When even people who voted for a song in the nf aren't convinced by it, then how can you convince people to vote for it on an international stage, with much harder competition, and without the gay or Palestinian person you wanted to defeat in the running? Nothing against Hera, she's definitely better than Trashittaz and Blanca Paloma, but this song just wasn't it. But voting for a song just to oust another song never leads to good results at Eurovision. Hopefully, he can follow into Conchita's footsteps, go to Eurovision and win. Same thing goes for Agoney.
