    Hi! I hope you all enjoy this new video format. It's a lot more casual and has a more podcast/livestream feel. (Plus it was so much easier to film and edit so I didn't get burned out! Haha)
    I'm quite happy with it and will improve more as I continue the series!

    When it’s doing the lance attack it “breathes”, as you described it, because it’s mimicking the dragoon nobodies before they do their “jump” attack that sora can use his reaction command on. The dragoons will curl into a ball esc, shape while pulsing before they unleash the attack

    I love the "eldritch" feel that goes into the Nobody's animations. Like they're a part of our world but not really, so things like gravity and mass are mere suggestions to them.

    Amazing video! Wow, I did not expect you to make a long video about a single Nobody and I didn’t think a single Nobody could fill up a whole video.
    I have a hypothesis about Nobodies. The Nobodies are the weapons of the Organization. Some of their weapons can morph. Xaldin’s lances look a lot like the Dragoon Nobody when he makes his dragon. Several Nobodies either wield weapons like their commander, or turn into them when they are parried. Assassins turn into Chakram shapes when they are parried. It’s possible that Creepers’ are lower Nobodies’ weapons. What supports this is that the Creeper transforms itself into weapons for attacks.

    • @mutanttepig4759
      @mutanttepig4759 22 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@sakonan4883 That's definitely an interesting theory and somewhat makes sense because I recall that sometimes the organization members threaten to demote the others into dusks when they do wrong and having creepers who are one of the weakest Nobodies literally becoming the weapons of their superiors being a somewhat frightening, but interesting concept. Literally using some of their own troops as their weapons is somewhat terrifying and makes sense because of how low rank the creepers seemingly are it would make sense that sometimes they would literally be seen and used as objects by their superiors.

    (Casually commenting before watching the video:) I’ve always thought the Creepers undeservedly got way less attention than the Dusks and every other Nobody type, so I’m super glad you’re shining a bit more light on them now!

      @sakonan4883 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +8

      Tbf, Creepers are like the Shadows of Nobodies. But if Dusks are the Shadows of Nobodies, that means Creepers are even lower than Shadows lol

  • @davidbolt9370
    @davidbolt9370 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +11

    this was real fun!
    7:28 I always thought the leg shaking during their walk cycle was to show how weak they are
    when a person is straining themselves too much their muscles often shake and can't carry the weight stably
    the creeper is often mentioned to be the weakest nobody, so i guess it shows that even walking is a struggle for them
    13:45 I think it B R E A T H E S cause its trying to imitate the dragoon nobody, which does a similar breathing / pulsating animation before doing the jump attack
    maybe its trying to appear stronger by copying its more competent siblings :P

    • @sakonan4883
      @sakonan4883 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I wished the creeper imitated more Nobodies then, because I think it’s weird that it only imitates the Dragoon. I guess it’s disc form could be a reference to the Gambler Nobody.
      The sword form is large chance a reference to the Samurai.

    • @JDubsAnimation
      @JDubsAnimation  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @davidbolt9370 I love that interpretation of the leg shakes! It definitely makes sense that Creeper could struggle from weakness.
      Bruh I really can't believe I didn't notice the Dragoon reference 😅. Or it was more like, I could see the connection but I didn't think the connection was as strong as it actually was so I dismissed it completely. The Creeper copying others to look stronger is such a cute concept lol!

    I adore this video so much, giving attention to the most underrated enemy in KH2. One thing I'd like to mention is that the Creeper has an EXCEEDINGLY rare animation that will only occur when both a Dusk and a Creeper are in the battlefield at the same time, and you can use Reaction Commands. If you use "Reversal" on a Dusk in combat, that Dusk and all surrounding Dusks will become "confused" for a moment, and jitter around in place while looking for where their target just went. However, if there is a Creeper nearby, the Creeper will do its very best to mimic the "confused" animation of the Dusks! The only place in the game I have managed to see this occurrence is in the Foyer room of the Mansion at the end of Roxas's chapter of the game, and even then I had to lure in the Creeper and Dusk until they were in the same area. The only reason I knew this interaction existed is because Jiminy's Journal mentions it, because I don't remember ever seeing said interaction until I actively searched it out. I actually posted a video of it on my channel at some point, if you'd like me to link it.
    The fact that the Creeper mimics the Dragoon with its spear jump attack, mimics the Dusk with its confusion animation, and (potentially) mimics the Samurai by turning into a sword leads me to believe that the Creeper might be incapable of independent thought, and can only follow the instructions and examples of greater Nobodies.

    • @JDubsAnimation
      @JDubsAnimation  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      I just looked up your video! What a cool moment. It really does mimic the Dusk's timing and everything!
      I was thinking before how the other lesser Nobodies mimic or take after members of the Organization, but Creeper doesn't have a member to emulate. So maybe that's another reason why it follows the example of other lesser Nobodies!

    Wow, what a great video! I really appreciate the close looks at the transitions between this guy's different forms, because while playing it's hard to pick up on the relation between, say, the sword form and the disk form. I always wished there was a way to look at the attack animations of the enemies in Jiminy's Journal the way you can see the idle animation because some of them are just so cool or so creepy, but during gameplay theres always other enemies or party members getting in the way of observing them. Thanks for making this!

    There's one other weird thing about creepers. Like dusks, creepers react to the Reversal reaction command. But it's really rare to see it happen because you can't trigger Reversal off of them, so you can only see this in a couple of places where creepers and dusks spawn together or during the Twilight Thorn fight.

    "coin' because it has the lil' disk form it slides around the ground in, and "silly shoe hands" for how it walks around sometimes enters as JUST it's big, floppy shoe hands.

    • @sakonan4883
      @sakonan4883 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I think the Ninja in comparison to the other, isn’t as creative, but I’m gonna have to rewatch some footage, because I said the same for Reapers. Reapers are interesting enough, because they act like blow up dolls. Maybe the concept is that they’re whatever someone else wants them to be. A balloon takes the shape of whatever its blower makes it. It flattens into a flower when you strike it against a wall lol.
      All I can say for the Ninja is that they over commit to being flashy and active. I think the Assassins are more creative. Maybe it references how Nobodies overexaggerate their personalities to compensate for not having a real personality.

    10:40 I’d never considered the Lore Implications either, but maybe Creepers are actually amalgamations of multiple extremely weak fragments of Nobodies or something like that? Perhaps there are some vestiges left behind by Heartless formation that are so minuscule and weak they can’t even form an entire body on their own, and have to cluster together to keep from simply fading away.

      @JDubsAnimation For sure! The nobodies are inspired by the esoteric understanding of the daoist creation myth.
      The story is often told that there floated an egg in the chaos. The more accurate translation is that there floated a formless sack in the chaos and is interpreted that this sack was in the chaos and was the chaos.
      When Pangu realizes that he is a person and that he is alone, the sack is split open, and it's here where the primordial chaos starts to identify itself into parts like yin and yang, the five elements, etc.
      The word for chaos in this myth is húndún, which shares an etymology with the wonton noodle. It's an unformed noodle sack. This is why Arceus from Pokemon and the Nobodies in Kingdom Hearts have a white exterior that look as if they are meant to contain something, I suspect-it makes them resemble egg shells and wonton noodles.
      The rest of Kingdom Hearts is more so inspired by western esotericism, which makes the Nobodies as a more eastern influence really interesting.
