Ukrainians are forbidden to leave the Ukraine by order of the Zelenski government. People entering the Ukraine do so following strict regulations.
Fighting fit people in most countries have an expectation to fight for their home land, and most would. But Ukrainians aren't locked in, there are plenty of Ukrainians moving around, many have already gone to Poland as they have openly discussed in statements to the public.

The Ukraine suffers the most miserable living conditions in the world.
War can do that to a country.. Especially when the enemy purposefully aim at civilian areas, not just military targets.
