This car was the prize of the first session of Driver's License on Gran Turismo 4. Always took it to race on the Sunday Cup. Really nice to see one in real life, we never had these on Brazil
My dad use to be driving instructor. Imagine driving with a learner who always rev the engine too much because hes affraid of stalling when there is a big hole in a muffler :D
Its the same as 125cc motorcycle, they rev so loud but they go so slowly. In my town it there is a lot of 125cc and they sound like they are racing but they can't keep up with traffic its funny.
My daily driver, but stock. 162k km and still hasn't change anything everything stock. Just opened a lil bit the airbox and decoupled the exhaust pan. feels like +5hp
I daily a 1.4 sport with a 1.0 gearbox, although not the most easy thing with it being track spec. I wouldn’t change it for anything though, I love these little cars. That is why I bought 2 haha

Hi Joe A rep mate of mine had one of these as his own transport, he said it made a hair raising change to the cavalier he drove for a living and I saw what he meant when he gave me a lift it seemed a lot faster than the figures suggested, he would throw it around all over the place. He did admit any distance on a motorway called for ear defenders but he did spend most of the time trying to push the throttle pedal through the floor, although I feel the exhaust on yours had been breathed on if not the hole engine. Is it me, or interiors without leds and screens have a lot of charm and they feel very comfy ? Nowadays interiors feels more agressive and lack of desing, the only worry is if a bigger screen would fit.
In México this car was known as VW Derby but it was a 4 door sedan.... this particular one as Polo headlights and its a hatch... Very strange car indeed

But there are also a lot of modern cars with stock exhausts which are designed for show off and nothing else

What a nice grinder the VW Lupo is! I find the diesel version brilliant, for many years it was the one that consumed the least of all.

Actually no. The VW Derby was a SEAT Cordoba Mk1, whilst the VW Lupo was a SEAT Arosa.
The Arosa/Lupo and the Cordoba/Derby are not related.
