About to give this a go. My buddy is giving me his old 2000 Ford F-150. It’s been sitting for about 8months. I bought a new battery and tried to start her but it wouldn’t fire up. It cranked just fine and with some starting fluid in the intake fired up but did not keep running without it. My plan is to replace fuel filter, syphon gas and put some fresh 93 in with maybe an additive. This video was very helpful because most I talked to were saying it’s going to be a beast to change. Your video did not look that way.
Also, noticed that the lines look new. Did you do that before? That’s what some friends are telling me that the lines will be all crudded up so it might not be as easy as your video. I’m buying that tool today as well from Advanced.
Thanks for the comment, hope the video helps. It’s not a horrible job at all, as you mentioned, the worst part is the corrosion. I had never personally changed the fuel likes and I’ve had the truck for about 7 years. I did have to twist and wiggle the filter a bit to work it out of the connections, I didn’t include 100% of that process for the sake of video length and blocking the camera with my arms/hands but it wasn’t horrible. Just remember to release the fuel pressure first, and be ready for gas to come out (watch your eyes/face and have a pan to catch it). Good luck!

Hello, thanks for the comment. To change the fuel filter it does not matter how much gas you have in your tank. The only time it would matter is if you were removing the gas tank. Good luck!
