So he deserves to win because he's a role model? What happened to talent? The rest of the finalists are being judged on their skill and talent, making them even more deserving because Richard's talent, his singing doesn't measure up to other finalists. But you want him to win because you just love who he is. That's not what the show is about. When you vote it's not because of his talent, it's because of is backstory.

Richard and I worked together at the same elementary school for years. He is a genuinely nice person. What you see on stage is exactly who Richard is: kind, friendly, humble, talented!

Richard is from Terre Haute, IN, the same city as where I'm from. We live an hour away from there but were back a few months ago to visit family. We saw him in the parking lot at a shopping center, and when I recognized him, I waved to him. He waved back and asked if we wanted a selfie. Ha! He was very down to earth and seemed genuinely glad to see us, mere strangers he had never met before then. He's a good dude sticking to his roots, and the community and country are behind him!

I agree itsdylanschmidt. He is just an ordinary person with a voice that melts your heart. Wonderful Wonderful Man. And thanks also to BGT for having Sydnie Christmas perform. Some think she should not have done so, since she did Broadway on the eastside. My wife passed away the beginning of this year. And Sydnie's voice and words made me love my wife so much more, and I never would have heard of Sydnie, if it was not for BGT. I would love to see her and Richard sing a duet. WOW!!

Exactly! All natural talent. Richard was so nervous in the beginning, and when he sings, the audience sings with him and even at home we can feel the energy. All those years, caring for the school and singing to the kids, you deserve this attention for your wonderful voice and the example you are to us all to never give up on our dreams. This is a talent competition. He shouldn't win because he represents something people identify with--a common man pursuing his dream. That's admirable but that's not what's at stake here. All the contestants personalities are a part of their 'act', but in the end it's about talent and skill. Richard is a good singer but nowhere nearly as good as others in this season. His story isn't the talent we're supposed to be voting for.
The story matters a lot but it should not be undue influence. How do you explain to the more talented person? That has happened

I don't think he will. He only sings journey songs and he was off key. The woman before him was a better singer than him. It's not a Vegas act. He has heart ❤️ in his singing but only Journey songs is boring.

This man is what A G T should be all about ...a humble ..man with a amazing talent...a hero..for sure ..ANYBODY can program a computer to fly a bunch of drones...my 16 year old grandson does that...with practice anyone can do acrobatics..blindfolded or not ...but it takes a good given talent to sing like Richard does...and to be as humble as he is without the ego that most singers have is what being a winner is all about ...he.s a champion..his life will never be the same ...and if by some chance (which won.t happen) he doesn.t win..he.ll still be a superstar he.ll get a record contract and people will know who he is and will pay to see him preform ...as for the drones and the acrobatic bunch ...if one of them win ...within 6 months no one will remember their names...what they have to offer America right now will have no effect on bring people together God Bless You Richard❤❤❤❤❤❤

I have been a music lover for most of my life. I play guitar, bass, and have sung since I was about 10 years old. This man is not only a great Hoosier representative but is a tremendous talent. He is seemingly very humble, very kind, and very thankful to be recognized for his talent. Richard, you have this fellow Hoosier's vote, and I am wishing all of God's blessings to come your way. I share Richard’s love for Journey. They’re my favorite band of all time. I even saw them in concert twice. In 2022 for the Freedom tour, and this year for the summer stadium tour. I’m more excited the fact they’re performing with him next week.

Just when I think I can't be more impressed with Richard, he goes and proves me wrong.. I'm amazed this guy wasn't discovered a long time ago.. He so deserves to win it all but if he doesn't, he'll make up the million he lost very easily in record deals everywhere...
It's so refreshing to hear occasional slightly flat notes that aren't tuned with pitch correction for these live performances. They give so much character and realism and it is part of his soul. This dude has a great voice and is fantastic at performance. He's a winner regardless of results, and I've said he's going to win since day 1.
