I wish they made the king cab in the Pro4X version. Not everyone has kids to haul around.
I have a big Labrador 😅
@user-zv3fe4nz8o I bought some parts from a guy who had a 2022 King cab Pro 4x in boulder Grey (I have a 2023). He said they are not that many and it did look pretty cool. I'm in Canada. He had it lifted with Nismo wheels, Z1 exhaust and katzskin leather interior with red stitching. It looked factory.
They have it in Canada
They do in canada, but I wish they would bring it state side
@@daniel0atk And somewhere in Canada someone is complaining that they don't get the S or SV versions.
This new frontier is so good because it was based off of the previous model. I have a 15 frontier and it has been a fantastic truck.
King cab Pro 4X with 6' bed. In the upper $30 thousand range. Sold!
Yes, bring back the Xterra. Right the bad decision! I see old ones here all the time.
Nissan did a nice job improving the infotainment screen. I like the Pro4-X trim the best! Nice review,
I don’t understand the thought process behind some truck manufacturers’ decisions. The King Cab setup makes perfect sense as an adventure vehicle, but why isn’t it available in a PRO-4X configuration? Does everything really need to be turned into a four-door limousine?
I’m in the market for a truck, but I don’t plan to use it as a taxi. The King Cab with a longer bed is ideal, especially if they removed those jump seats, which could be replaced with overlanding gear storage. A long bed works great for installing a deck/drawer system, and I could easily haul my paddleboard with less overhang.
Offering the PRO-4X option for the King Cab might not be the most popular choice, but it would definitely sell. Toyota has a similar concept with the Pre-Runner, but I’m not a fan of leaf springs, turbo engines, iPad-style entertainment, or the lack of small, hinged doors like Nissan’s King Cab. What gives?
If i was shopping for a mid-sized truck right now i would probably go for this one. Compact trucks didn't have back seats originally. These big family cab creature comfort truck things are relatively new in the truck world. King cab WAS the bigger cab back in the 80's.
I have one. Sideways jump seats thst fold up into the walls.
Bring back the Nissan quality of the 1990's
They did with the Frontier.
The Frontier is that.
I think it’s called king cab because if prioritizes the ‘king’ (the driver), at the expense of the crew.
When they came up with the term king, there was no such thing as a crew cab compact truck.
If you want a crew cab, you prioritize passengers over cargo, the opposite being true for the king cab.
All other manufacturers no longer give you a choice, hats off to Nissan giving you a six foot bed without extending the wheelbase.
I’m looking at these exact trucks now to replace my work truck, the back seat doesn’t bother me at all
I like the refresh and love those suicide rear doors, easy access to put tools and range toys back there. Toyota dropped the ball buy not including suicide doors on the new Tacoma.
Suicide doors on my f150 sucked for groceries in a parking lot. Need enough room to swing the main door open large enough for the rear door to open up. Then you have to basically close the front door so its not in the way when loading. Then you are cut off from your cart becuase the suicide blocks it. Easier to bring a tub and throw everything in the bed of the truck. This may not be as big of a deal in a midsize being a narrower vehicle. However, I would still go this route for the 6ft bed.
4th gen taco is a nogo and Toyota has really gone dei/esg/alphabet crazy. They gave up on everything Toyota used to be to go bud light.
Hope they corrected their assembly processes. Scotty Kilmer on TH-cam reported a 2023 Frontier having missed spot welds on the frame during assembly.
Haha. He had one vehicle. It's not a common problem
Nostrils and King cab goes back to the 90s hardbody trucks
King Cab with 6 foot bed is best for an actual truck to be used as a truck. Cars make a lot better passenger vehicles.
And 6' bed on mid-sized king cab truck just barely fits in a standard sized garage and parking space. Any bigger and you have to think about where to park it.
Love the looks of the king cab. Would be great if they a jump seat delete option.
A King Can Pro 4x with a manual would have been incredible!
As alway I enjoy your videos but I wish we had extended video of you parking the Frontier. Were you successful, did crawl out the rear window, ding the doors? Haha!
Great Truck 👍🏻
My first trucks were during the Datsun to Nissan brand change and every one I owned was fantastic. I may pick one up just for the nostalgia... But then again, $40,000.... I'll take one for a test drive anyway...
I did hear that NISSAN WILL BE BRINGING THE XTERRA BACK ( FOR THE 2026) MODEL YEAR.!!!!😮😮😊😊
Wasn't king cab the biggest at one time ? Reg, extended. King. ? Idk
Would love to have a King Cab but they are about as hard to find as Unicorns where I live. Dealers don't stock them. Everyone around here wants a crew cab with 4-wheel drive to go the mall. They seldom put anything in the bed and never use 4-wheel drive.
I like the shorter wheel base of the king cab. I imagine it would ride better with a little weight in the back. I was hoping to hear the payload of the truck.
Aren’t they the same exact wheelbase?
Same wheelbase bud. Shorter bed is all.
According to Edmonds, the Frontier SV 4X4 with a long box has a Max Towing Capacity of 7,000 lbs. The SV long box 4X4 Max Payload Capacity is 1,450 lbs. However, the Frontier SV 2WD with a long box has a Max Towing Capacity of 7,130 lbs and a Max Payload Capacity of 1,620 lbs.
A manual transmission option would be nice.
Its a nice dash at least and seems to ride very quiet.
Are there people who buy a king cab who wouldnt want a bar over the rear glass to rest and secure long items lumber or pipes? To me king is mostly for trades people, no?
Excellent.
So is there an Xterra in the works?
Don’t know
If you want nostalgia! Nissan should go back to the Hardbody. However, those days are long gone.
They have the pro4x king can in Canada! Bring it to the USA!!!!
é um frontier cabine estendida🫶✌️
Do a video of the Pro4x long bed !!! Pleaseeeee
Nissan needs to make the king cab little bit bigger
That’s called crew cab 😂
@@guillermocardenas9497😂
Does anyone know how writing Frontier on the dash adds 500lbs of towing capacity?? But seriously what changed mechanically that now it can tow 7000lbs+ ??
How did you get a land cruiser in usa 🇺🇸
By any chance is that 3.8 V6 related to the 3.8 V6 twin turbo in the GTR?
The GT-R has the Nissan VR38DETT engine that produces from 487 PS (358 kW; 480 HP) to 608 PS (447 kW; 600 HP) of maximum power and from 588 N·m (60 kg·m, 433.4 ft·lb) to 652 N·m (66.5 kg·m, 480.5 ft·lb) of torque depending on the year and vehicle model. The breakdown of the engine code is as follows:
VR - Engine Family.
38 - 3.8 Liter Displacement.
D - DOHC (Dual Overhead Camshafts).
E - Multi Point Fuel Injection.
TT - Twin-Turbocharged.
If you want to see a Frontier with a custom built GT-R engine that produces over 1,000 horsepower, just type NAVARA-R into TH-cam.
Maybe no kids but a dog won’t fit.
Oh no - no human should sit back there.
I put my 7 yo in the back of my king cab. She fits fine.
@@4dscdriver so does my mother in law 😜
@@mikesawyer1336 i put my mother in law in the bed of the truck. I don't want to hear her mouth.🤣
@@4dscdriver I knew I was gonna cause a ruckus
Way overpriced.
Everything is overpriced unfortunately.
The frontier is probably the least expensive mid sized truck being offered these days
Another rattle box
