@@munchy_cool Did you buy it new or used? Buying used phones/pcs is so easy in the states with ebay. Here most of quikr or olx ads are fake reposts & scams. Any tips for buying used electronics like phones & laptops in India?

I have a request for you, can you plz make a similar installation video of dual boot with prime os without having grub2 bootloder.
Anyways its amazing as always :)
i dont do video requests ...sorry
@@munchy_cool oooh ok and thanks for such a quick reply
Nice tutorial. I have just a question. Why did you set swap whit 24 GB? Usually is put at doble the ram size or lower. Thanks!
Seems pretty thorough. I'm currently updating an old HP dv9500 laptop. This tutorial will be very handy.

I have Windows 10 64-bit running well on this project laptop. I recently re-installed Windows Vista Ultimate (64-bit to keep the 8GB readable. 32-bit runs fine, and is needed for updating the legacy HP/Phoenix BIOS, but being 32-bit can only address 3.75GB ram). Being limited to a Legacy BIOS, I have my 3 OS's (Windows 10, Vista Ultimate 64-bit, and Vista Home 32-bit) on 3 separate SSDs all with MBR disk format. I plan on cloning them all to a 2TB SSD (using an Extended Boot Record to make them Logical VBR drives... which would prevent it's use with XP or earlier windows, but be fine with Vista+) but I needed a clear way to modify the boot-loader. This video was exactly what I needed. :)
I suppose the ultimate upgrade would be to boot from a GPT drive using this Legacy BIOS, but that's the next project... and maybe add Ubuntu to play with as well.
This cheap laptop is a diamond from the past... it even has dual SSD bays which can run in RAID 0. ;)
Good job bro ❤
It worked without any issues .. I was trying to dual boot since a very long time .. finally I did it on my own . yaay thanks for such proper tutorials
You're welcome!
Thanks, that works nice
Thanks Munchy. I've tried this several times, and keep getting an error installing Grub. Trying several work arounds now. Thanks for this video to at least help get the process started!
Did u finally get yours installed. Stuck with the GRUB issue as well
Really excited for more videos like this related to PC.
ah i like this new series, tho virtual machines are gonna do it for me
Thank you so much sir...
Most welcome
THANK YOU!!!
Simply legendary. Thanks so much for this. I am seeing that ubuntu also has a boot menu after I select ubuntu from the windows boot menu (the one set up using EasyBCD). Is there a way to get rid of that?
Best, thanks a lot!
You're welcome!
Nice detailed video 🙂
thanks for your video, you helped me a lot :) || ( still working in windows 11 ,, nov 2022)
Glad it helped!
Took me 2 days to install reinstall but easy bcd solved in 2minutes

No problem 👍
this is something new in the channel. love to see new content
This man is a gem

Just saying, Home Edition doesn’t come with BitLocker so if you have that, you don’t need to disable it.
Hey thank you so much for the tips but i have a problem i hope you can help with. I do everything as you say but in the end it says grub can’t install on the partition you said and then I can’t access ubuntu from the boot menu
Help me please
After completing every process and settiung up at easybcd when i try to boot ubuntu it says autoneogrub0 is missing or contains error
I really thank you
You are very welcome
I loved the video straight to the point and extremely thorough in your presentation but I have one question why did it not detect that you were running Windows 10(specific message: Install Ubuntu alongside Windows 10) I have seen that in a multitude of other videos. Explain if you can???
i dont know ...sorry
i think its due to the fact that there was no efi partition. from what i have seen i think ubuntu recognizes os from boot drive which is efi for mordern uefi users.
does avoiding installing ubuntu's bootloader on windows boot manager help with the grub issues users get when windows does a big update?
Hope we will see more videos like this , more Linux distros ,os ,tips-tricks 😁🙌🏻
Can't thank you enough for this great video and great explanation.
Glad it was helpful!
Very nice tutorial
Thanks for watching
It just says executing 'grub-install failed /dev/sda5' failed. This is a fatal error...
Installing on regular SDA works fine BUT it fucks my bootloader and I'm left with the grub rescue command line
Same
Thank you bro this is the video i need 🙂
wait, you have multiple partition more than 4, i think four is the maximum number for mbr drive partition. and how do you do that? is that logical partition?
I WOULD BE GLAD IF YOU HELP.
WHICH DISK SHOULD EASYBCD BE INSTALLED WHEN INSTALLING SSD WINDOWS HDD UBUNTU?
Followed these instructions for Linux Mint instead of ubuntu and with Windows 8.1 on an old Dell Studio Hybrid. Linux installed fine. Reboots automatically into windows as usual, and with easyBCD I set up linux with Grub legacy and restarted. it just goes right into windows still. Tried setting it to Grub2, still goes right into windows? did I miss something? EDIT: I am using legacy BIOS as there is no UEFI on this old machine.
Just curious, what are the advantages of ubuntu dual boot with windows? What programs does it run? Or is there is a specific linux os that specialize on certain task? Like is there a specialized linux OS for video editing, gaming and what else? Because I want to try this out?
@PaRaNOiD What are some programs that forces you to boot Linux instead of Windows?
Reasons: Either the programs are free but on Windows that similar program is cost money or the Linux program that is just that great/comparable to Windows program.
I don't know anything about Linux. I installed it years ago on my pc but never use it. Can you give me an idea what programs are great on it.
Thank you bro
Welcome
At 22:38, when selecting the drive, only my windows partition is showing. None of the other partitions I created appear 😞. I believe I followed the process exactly. What could be causing this?
The video is very goot but I am getting try or install Ubuntu instead of Ubuntu, what should I do
Muncky Linux in dualboot with Windows 10 on the Sony vaio 500 gb it is a pc with legacy that is mbr but being that it is a large hard disk I do not know how many gb to give has Windows and I do not know how much it has Linux would you recommend me? Then another information regarding the manual partitioning can you tell me the exact commands to put? For mbr then for when it concerns the programs As soon as installed I uninstall them with the programs without leaving a trace then I right click on the disk and I clean and I do the cleaning then in temp prefetch then I have a memory of 4gb I saw that in the video you put a partitioning in ram manually to create the ram to be dedicated has linux me having 4gb what number should I put? thank you very much and good day carlo
After I do this, will all my programs be available on the Ubuntu side?
Bro it formats my ssd from mbr to gpt how to fix and my laptop doesn't support uefi.
Does it work in with windows 7?
Brother....on Rufus application you select MBR with UEFI but MBR is only supported with Legacy.
Hey munchy is there any way to set a certain frame cap for certain app in arrow os?
no idea
Hey munchy is there any os for pc to play games smoothly? I basically have a potato pc and it lags like hell,if there, please make a video about it ❤️

Do you know what happens when windows updates ?Are there any problems?
Hi there , I have a problem when I click on something else there is no free space!!!! But I'm pretty sure I freed up some space in disk management in disk D.
Can anyone help me with this?
