DO NOT purchase a multi effects unit - before checking in on master Leo on his fine youtube channel . Mind you there are a lot of people making this type of content , but no one can touch Leo . Thank you so much for all your hard work Leo. You helped me with my choices not too long ago , since then i have been extremely happy with my purchase and thru that i have grown as a player and we sound better than EVER . Having GREAT sound , so many options , and the ability to organize it all so it makes sense , intuitively its no small feat. Ultimately i have embraced digital a long time ago , and now the time has come where its clear that i did make the smart choice. Its time to reap the benefits of this choice , and i thank Leo gratefully for making that so simple for me . Everyones needs are different , we all have our own set of ears , its like music , if we all went around whistling the same tune , it would be a pretty boring place to live . music and tone is subjective , what works for you is different for me . Its important to understand stuff like this and accept these facts as thinking its cut and dry and what is on your board is "the best" and everything else is "garbage" is a closed minded approach that will turn people off . I appreciate what Leo is doing and has done because he is a bit above that type of nonsense . On top of that as i always say , as player no matter what level , from the beginner "kid in his bedroom with the line 6" ( i have noted this response online many times and i think , what where they born steve vai?) to the guy who is recording his 20th solo guitar instrumental cd - it is NOT our gear which should DEFINE us , that should be the job of our MUSIC . Its easy to get caught up in a "gas" cycle , and utilize "stink think" such as what i mentioned - all gear is garbage except what is on my board right now or - if someone else plays thru something different they are noob . At the end of the day i would find it refreshing if people can consider things like - no one in the audience ever (CARED) left a gig because they notice the guitar player was not using a tube amp . YES tube amps sound great , no they are not always feasible . as we move forward and things like carbon footprint and 2030 , greta thronberg will be coming for your tubes . you can bank on that . being a guitar player should not be a "private part measuring contest" but ultimately there is a lot of this attitude floating around . lets try to keep ourselves grounded and stop judging the next guy for what he may play thru or NOT play thru . there is a right way to look at these devices and compare them fairly , and thats exactly what Leo does best , next to playing his guitars of course .
Hi Petey, thank you so much...these are such great compliments...I can't say thank you enough!!! Thank you also for sharing your findings...interesting points for sure!!! I totally agree with you...we all have different needs, and we all perceive tone and music differently....but for sure we all share a great passion and love for music! Thank you!
Very true comment. I'm a gigging multi fx user and I've tried all the big brands and models live, money no issue and nothing touches my first ever unit for sound quality/ tone. Not even subsequent models in the same band! That first FX unit, the Zoom G1!
@@tonyharley5230my first ever pedal was a Zoom G1X I found it to be really great. It was pretty flimsy feeling basically all plastic but it had a metronome, drum machine, wah pedal/volume pedal and some pretty sick effects it is also realllllllly simple to use and tweak your effects. I might buy another one just to give it a go. I do own the Zoom G6 and Pod Go currently but I believe I like the effects and tone on the Zoom better but I do enjoy the Pod Go and there is no doubt that it is a better product overall but the Zoom G6 is still my favorite for whatever reason. You should give it a try you can buy one used for about $180 USD roughly $240 if you get it new. Great price for all it has to offer.
Thank you James. I'm really happy that you understand the quantity of work behind these videos....they require a lot of time end dedication....but I receive such amazing feedback from our community that you really push me forward in doing more and better. In this case, Christmas holidays were helpful...I had some time to dedicate to these videos... Thank you once more!
Just watched this for the first time and note this is 2 years since you posted this video but I just wanted to say this absolutely brilliant! So much effort and work has gone into this video comparison. Thank you so much.
Thank you Leo, your presentation and comparison really helped me in deciding what guitar effect would suit me. In my heart, I chose a real amp,. In my brain I chose the Line 6 Pod GO and in my budget I chose the Valeton GP200. In the end, my choice fell to the Valeton GP200 where in comparison you did, the GP200 was close to the sound of the original amp. So, many thanks and warm greetings from Bali.
@@melkisedekkasiaheng1761 Very satisfying for prices in the middle class. If you have more funds, it's worth considering buying the BOSS GT1000. The best sound I've ever heard with the new technology
Effects were a little bit “sweeter,” to my ear, on the podGo. But both amp sounds were good. I only caught a minuscule increase in background noise with the plexi sound on the Valeton. Thank you for taking pains to thoroughly compare the units. Your videos are very useful as I explore my options for direct guitar sounds. Also, loving your songs.
I heard that too, but I think the pod go is darker, when i used to have one I couldnt get a sound out of it that i liked, partially as it was SO dark. I think thats why the gp sounds buzzier, the noise is more present
Remarkably useful comparison! I am surprised to say I prefer the Valeton's tone. Its plexi had better harmonic simulation on the top end, and the chorus was superior. The Pod Go sounded consistently more compressed and the chorus was almost flanged.
Thanks Leo! I love your format! So well organized and helpful. Especially the time stamps so we can go back and forth. I have the Pod Go. These units are great and are so powerful. I still mostly gravitate to my real amps or more simple devices like my tech 21 fly rigs for live use. For me personally I just can't get the right sound and feel in a live setting without messing with these type of pedals too much for each preset. It's just me and my preference. I feel it takes my focus away from concentrating on playing. I still love messing with them at home when live performance isn't the priority!
Hi Samuel, thank you, I'm super happy that you like my videos! Thank you also for sharing your opinion and experience...I totally understand you...let me just say that the format, lightness and compactness of these unit is uneatable. Thank you!
Wow! Your presentation and analysis of the units were absolutely brilliant, comprehensive and spot-on. Your playing was great by the way. Thank you for sharing your insight with us. Very helpful and one of the best on TH-cam. Cheers from Canada!
I saw a highly respected TH-camr (John Nathan Cody) who didn't like the POD-Go much, but after its 2.0 Firmware a few weeks ago I believe, totally changed his opinion. I am looking at the Valeton. But might go with Headrush MX-5 or even the upgraded Podgo. Until then the cheap Boss GT-1 is good enough for me 😀. Wonderful demo. Just subscribed. Thanks
Thanks Leo, what a great job you’re doing with these comparisons. Super professional but also respectful about the final use of these, contious about the fact the needs depend on use.
I really like the fact that the GP-200 offers a more flexible signal chain and doesn't seem to max out its processing power quite as easily as the pod go does. The GP-200 is a no-brainer! Thanks Leo.
That is not correct, the POD Go offers a more flexible chain than the GP-200 since it has 4 blocks where you can choose any effect as long as there is prcessing power for it, in the GP-200 the blocks are fixed when it comes to what type of effect they may contain.
@JCW 308 I cant agree with you at all when it is clear that the chain in the GP-200 is completely fixed with exeption for the order and while you also can change the order of the effects on the PD Go you can also choose any effect in 4 of the blocks (as mentioned earlier) which you cant on the GP-200.
I disagree with that. In pod go you can use 2 delay, or 2 reverb, or 2 drive pedal. Which in Gp200 can't. And pod go has snapshot also. It's like a switching system for you board like the helix. N you could free more block by "hacking" the patches, so you could have more pedals in it. So i think pod go has more flexibility than the gp200
Both sound great, but here in Australia the price difference is huge, about 500 to 600 dollars cheaper for the GP200. So, GP200 wins for me, I like the bonus balanced outputs too, also a 3 minute loop and decent drum machine. Cheers
Great look at the two! Also, if you already have a good audio interface with better sample rates, the Valeton already has XLR outs vs needing an adapter.
For the best most informative demo / review / comparisons ... Leo is the man to see . Excellent work . Much appreciate all the work you do . So I bought 2 units ! Nu-X MG300 and Valeton GP200 . I personally can say the NU-X has the edge on amp tones and I prefer the GUI Graphics , plus the Different mics and their placement options . But both are amazing units . Molto Grazzie caro Leo . Cheers from un altro Italiano in Canada .
Thank you so much, I'm really happy to have been of some help! Thank you also for sharing your experience with both the units!!! Un caro saluto...da un italiano ... in Italia...😀😀...even if my studio could be kind of everywhere in the world...
Great demo ... as usual. Thanks for that ! I found the reverb and delay effects better on the Pod Go ... still, not bad in the Valeton ... price difference is a major + for the Valeton although ... so would go for the Valeton ... ;-)
Great job making this review, thanks. As to me - one advantage that the Valeton has surpasses those few advantages of the POD GO, namely XLR outputs. As the V-200 owner I’ll be missing the possibility of using two delays or two reverbs, but there is always the FX loop, after all. The only regret is that V-200 can’t send non-simulated signal to jack outs while sending simulated signal to XLRs. But when I recall the price of the unit I can stand that shortage.
Great review as always Leo! I think when I heard your demo song, besides the fact that I always love your demo songs, it was nearly impossible to tell each of the modelers apart from the real deal amp. It all sounded great. Also, in the individual sounds section if I close my eyes I had a very difficult time telling one from the next. My only thought on a purchase is, is the manufacturer going to be around to support the device for a year or two as well as community support with downloadable patches, etc. Line 6 seems to have great community support with a fairly regular update cycle from the manufacturer. If Valeton can get community support and firmware and additional models and effects added as the product ages, I think the GP-200 can be a POD Go killer. I was able to find my POD Go on sale when I bought it last year and I paid $428 shipped to my door including tax. So, to me it was a no-brainer. Now if you could buy each unit for 50 to $75 apart in price it would be a tough decision. For me, I still feel more comfortable with the established product by Line 6. In the past, I bought an "off brand" modeler and the company discontinued it within a year and there was never any additional support or effects or models or anything else. That would be my only drawback for the GP-200, whether or not Valeton will support the unit for a year or more with updates or not. Third party IR's really make the POD Go come alive. I have all 128 Banks loaded with IR's with various mic positions and it makes the unit sound incredible. The stock cabinet models leave a lot to be desired in the POD Go. God bless and rock on 🎸👍😎
Hi, thank you so much, I'm happy that you like my videos! Thank you also for sharing your opinion and experience...very interesting points....and things that are important for a final decision. I would just add that both valeton and Ampero belong to the same company and Ampero is around since many years...so I guess that also Valeton will not disappear...but who knows... Thank you once more!
Hi Leo, thanks for the video. I always appreciate the consistency in your product comparison methods. That said, I'd like correct you on one relatively important aspect of the POD Go. The block order is very easily editable and all blocks except the input and output can be positioned anywhere in the chain. Page 13 in the (English, Rev. D) manual contains instructions on how to do it.
first of all.... KUDOS to you for putting in ALOT of work to make this comparison for US!!! THANK YOU.. One thing that is bothering me through out this shoot out... the POD GO was much more noisy/hissy especially during the Fender examples... and i think that would lead to sound quality degredation problems during recording and or layering multiple tracks in the studio... everything else was kind of a wash with, in my opinion, the Valeton sounding just a bit better overall... and just a bit closer to the actual amp tones... of course these sound differences would be negligible in a live situation... with all the other sounds and stage noise and DRUMS 🙄... these minute differences would never be noticed... thank you again for the comparisons... ive made up my mind... VALETON GP 200 gets the NOD from me... PEACE..✌😎
I have Pod GO and zoom G3X and in my opinion the reverb and phasing effects are more pleasant on zoom. I don't posses GP200 but reverb seems to be better than these on Pod Go as well. The sound response on zoom makes easy to play (maybe because of some little compression added). Pod Go is cutting the sound before it releases even without noise-gate activated what is a big drawback in my opinion. This is totally of topic but zoom's ZNR noise gate is superior to all I ever heard. Thank you Leo for this vid, like always it is excellent. Cheers! bye!
Both sound great. I will say that Line 6 pod has a solid reliability record. Not sure about the others. And the updates are another good thing with Line 6 and it's history. I still have a Pod Pro and Pod xt in my stable. They work perfectly after all these years.
You know that's actually very clever thinking... I must've watched hundreds of vids comparing the valeton gp200, the ampero one, the pod go and the nux mg 30 (this one is kinda incredible). And while they're not too far off from each other, the pod go just looks more... Reliable? We all know line6 and their pods for decades so yeah
Great comparison, thanks for that! I may be wrong, but it seems as if the GP 200 has a scene function which can be activated with the CTRL switch, saw this being used in other videos.
Thank you! It's strange, as I asked to Valeton guys if the scenes were available and they told me the they are not available....I will check it out once more
@@LeoGibsonGtr That is really strange, an example is here: th-cam.com/video/QJLs6X4X1bM/w-d-xo.html You also see this in their videos for their presets in which they use it too. I really hope it has it, because I ordered one already. :)
I normally hate these comparison videos because there’s too much “faffing” it’s too difficult to compare like with like, but here I understood clearly, followed throughout and had useful information on which to decide which modelling I thought worked best. To my surprise, I’m leaning towards the Valeton….
I had the POD GO and returned it, about 3 months ago. I just bought the GP200 and really like it. Very easy to program and set up. Leo, it would be great if you could show how to control the GP200 with midi. I cannot find anything with regards to that on the web. Thanks for your videos, really love them.
Hi Leo. Excellent review as usual. But I'd also like to point out that you're a exceptionally good guitar player. I always enjoy your tunes. Well done! Out of interest, a comparison to its cousin, the Ampero, would be great.
Great video, very comprehensive and objective! The only thing I'd like to change would be a shorter time between audio clips of the units you are comparing. My ears have very short term memory :) At about 19:19 the clips were a little closer together and I really found that helpful for me. Thanks again!
Hi Rick, thank you, both for the compliments and the suggestions...I will try to put the clips more close, without losing the full decay of the note. Thank you!
For a faster comparison you can just forward the time in the video timeline. The point was to showcase the full decay time. Its far more useful to err on the side of length, showcasing the full effect which can always be shortened by a single click in the timeline vs cutting it short which would be impossible to add something that was cut.
You really are very detailed and one of the most complete reviewer on youtube. The amount of work that you put on your reviews are very out of this world. You are spoonfeeding us all 😁
Regarding effects loop, which is likely importantly to a large segment of users, stereo is fairly important, since a great deal of use cases are for ambience effects, and those need to be stereo. The pod go effects loop is stereo, and that should be the norm (although, I did have to buy a break-out cable for the pod go). Regarding the line-6 pod go' effects loop. The 1.3 firmware upgrade is buggy. I had to literally unplug the pod go for an extended period of time before the effects loop began to properly operate.
Very awesome player you are! I like the honesty in your review. Only a little advice, in my modest opinion, the most difficult thing to reproduce with a digital device are the distortion and gain. It would be interesting to hear the differences between the units in this case. However compliments and go on!
Thank you so much, I'm really happy that you like the video!!! Thank you also for your suggestion! Let me just add the in my opinion it's even harder for the modellers to replicate the way an amp reacts to our touch, I mean the way the amp cleans up and break up according to how soft or hard you push the strings...thatìs what I try to test in my videos. Nevertheless for sure also distortion is hard to replicate Thank you!
@@LeoGibsonGtr you're 100% right, Leo! Certainly you're more experienced than me! But I swear, for me the most difficult thing (I play hard rock) was to find a decent distortion sound. I finally and happily got a GE 200 unit (with personalized IR), my previous pedal was a boss me-80 (very very bad DS)... It wasn't a criticism to your video (really neat and hi quality one!) only an idea that maybe could be useful for you in relation to the "metal guy" viewer. However I've found your videos very honest. Congratulations and all the best to you!
I was going to pick up the pod-go in a couple of months, and a few videos comparing the two popped up. This one is the best comparison. Pretty much convinced me I have no need to spend £150 more. The podgo appealed to me as I use a lot of the line m9 effects in conjunction with the katana - but honestly I think the valeton will do it more than fine!
Dear Leo, could you please upload the demo song (Mystery) into your playlist, since it is very beautiful? Thank you in advance :) I always feel deep respect to people who can realize their potential and make the world a little bit better
Hi Leo, I love your videos. Do you keep all the multi effects units? Are you collecting them? I really like the idea of having a lot of multi effects units, but I don't seem to find another guy (or gal) that have the same amount of units like you. Keep doing your great work :D
Hi Gabriel, yes, I keep them as they are at the basis of my YT channel. I've bought some of them (the vast majority) and some of them have been provider buy the builders, to allow me to test them. Thank you for your message and I'm super happy that you like my videos!!!
Thanks for the great review! One thing I notice you don't talk about is the distance between the foot switches, which becomes very important for live use. The Valeton GP switches are quite close together, which give it a smaller size but can lead to accidental switching mistakes. The Mooer GE250 has this problem, too, which is made worse because hitting two switches by accident can trigger the tuner (killing the sound) or even worse, trigger the looper, which can completely mess up a live performance.
Hi Eddy, I'm happy you like the video. I talked about the foot switches distances in my demo review here: th-cam.com/video/_v5S5oN_Kz8/w-d-xo.html In that video I showed the distance for the GP 200 and I compared it to the POD GO, therefore I preferred not to do the same thing also here. Thank you.
@@LeoGibsonGtr Thanks for the reply! Ah yes. I remember you mentioned the foot switch distances there (6 cm vs 7 cm). For me, this is quite important. I ended up switching from the Mooer GE250 to the Moeer GE300 *Lite* because of the bigger switch distance. Interestingly, the Mooer GE300 also has narrow switches, so maybe manufacturers are now prioritizing the size of the box.
I make that mistake on the Helix LT which is much bigger than either of them. I guess neither the POD GO and the GP200 are atta the option for me. lol It will be so much better if we can at the very least disable the bank up and down switches or if we can use them to switch effects on and off instead.
Pod doesn't have the balanced XLR outputs that the Valeton has. This is a prerequisite for direct to PA / serious stage use IMO. Although the Pod can be used, a seperate DI unit is required and good ones are not cheap. I'm considering the Valeton for my live shows.
Hi Leo, New subscriber here, love the channel! (Mostly just the playing 👌) What are your thoughts on this up against the hotone ampero? Would love to hear your any feedback
Hi Andy, thank you so much, your sub really means a lot! Well, both the units belong to the same company, so I think they are sharing the amp modelling algorithms. The new Ampero Stomp 2 has much more options in term of cabs, mics positioning, etc. and obviously the Valeton has the 8 foot switches. Thank you once more!
Hi, I try to do my best...and you comments and support is super valuable for me...you all add a tons of value to the channel....so I try to always answer....I really care about your opinions!
What a tough choice... I like the Valeton's amp models better as to me they sound more alive but the effects on the Pod Go sound more like the real deal. The chorus has that Boss midrange punch that the Valeton lacks. I have an Ampero and can relate to this.. I like the amp models better than any Line 6 stuff I've owned but the mod and delays no so much...
Thanks Leo a good comparison demo off both units, I feel it’s slightly unfair to compare these two units together really as the POD GO is between £360-£400 in the UK New and the Valeton GP200 New I can get for £220 Delivered, so quite a big difference in price but I understand the layout and features of both units are very similar, so really it’s down to what each person is able to afford, in my opinion they are both very good units for their price, and if you have the extra money available then the Line 6 will be the better, but the Valeton is still excellent for £220 UK. Thanks for your review Leo, very helpful.
Hi! It is all matter of perspective. I purchased an HX Stomp almost a year ago, I was so proud of the count of modells and possibilities in the unit. Now, almost a year later I still can not say that I am satisfied with my sound. I bought a Valeton GP100 a month ago, I made gig ready sounds of it in a week... I became sick of "option paralysis" of the Helix, that is why I will change to GP200. And I am not new to floor effects, I program and use them for 25 years, and I am a recording/mixing/mastering engineer for 17 years. I think the devil lies in the details of the power amp modelling of the HX stomp, it is too much options for me.
@@eriqur Hi Erik I hope you are good? Very true what you say mate, believe me if I had the money and could afford it I’d definitely buy a Helix or stomp etc without a doubt, we’re all different and want different things from any product, for me I’m not that bothered about having all the different Amp models in the modellers all I want are the individual effect, modulation, delay, reverb, drive, distortions, pitch FX etc and I’m not that interested in IR’s although I know they would be beneficial and I would use certain favourites if I had a decent enough bit of kit to do it, for now I’m happy with what I’ve got. But I totally understand why many want the amps, cabs, IR’s from a modeller to replace using an amp at gigs and going directly into the PA for ease and not having to carry an amp to s gig, for me as a musician taking my amp and other gear to a gig is still totally part of the whole live experience of playing a gig and being a musician, it’s part of the whole vibe for me, I think I’m part of a low percentage of musicians that still like to do this nowadays. I have a Valeton GP100 also that I picked up used for £40 in the UK and I really like the unit and sounds great and works for me, if your willing to spend time, edit and dial in parameters you can achieve and create your own guitar sound individual to you and never expect to just plug in and presets to immediately sound exactly as you want, gotta work with any piece of gear to get the most and best sounds from it. The GP200 is a very good unit for a lower price than similar models from other brands and you can do pretty much the same, but all down to the individual, what they want, how much cash they’ve got and how much they’re willing to spend.
Great video as always Leo ! Both of the units sound very good and very similar to both each other and the original amps even though there are of course slight differences. There is one thing i reacted to though and it is that you say that the order in the effect chain in POD Go is fixed and that is not correct.
Thank You for the video Leo, Especially in this moment I’m looking for a multi effects pedal. Could you do a video to compare the Headrush Mx 5 and the Valeton gp 200? Or give me your advice on which one to choose ? Thank you !
OUTSTANDING REVIEW. YOUR ARE GREAT, MAN !!!!! WHAT A GREAT JOB. Both of them are great. But, speaping in terms of BEEING PRACTICAL, I think The Valeton has great improvements and a great price. THANKS A LOT, I WAS WAITIN´ FOR THIS REVIEW. I PROMISE. HAHAHAHAHA
The Valeton might be a good option until my name comes up on the waiting list to buy the Fractal FM9... So I am looking for something very inexpensive until that time for recording. Nice video, as always, Leo... PS...I wish how much longer I needed to wait for the FM9! Philip NYC Area
Hi Philip, I was in the waiting list for more than an year...and when the unit was ready ... I finally cancelled the order...the price in Euro is over 2.400€...too much...I will keep on with the FM3... Yes, the Valeton is a very good option! Thank you!
@@LeoGibsonGtr Hi Leo, The price of the FM9 went up here in the U.S. last month from $1699 US to $1799 US...(That's $1806 Euros I looked it up)... I have only been on the list for about 6 weeks, so this looks like it will take a very long time. It is almost worth it for me to spend a little more and buy the AXE-FX III for $2299 $US which ships in one business day according to Fractal's website... Philip
Hi Philip, maybe the availability in USA is better than in Europe...never say never..😀. I guess that from 1.806 we reach 2.400 adding import duties, taxes etc...

L E O - THANKS for all the work to compare these !! - liked and subscribed - But - NO personal tweaking would have been much better... just to hear what the units put out by themselves - to REALLY compare them ! Some more Crunch tones chords would have been much better ! That's what Marshall is all about ! All the patches sounded a little better with more slightly more range and high end in the Valeton - to me How could you Not mention the wireless in the Line 6 ... is it Not in the Valeton ? - which makes the Line 6 even more expensive...
Hi, you are welcome and your sub really means a lot to me! In the "My 2 cent section" of the video you can hear both the tweacked tones and the NON tweaked ones. I don't have the wireless POD GO, and here I'm comparing the standard version. Thank you for your message!
Great revew as always.... I am enjoying watching your testing/review.... I was planning to take the headrush.... then the ampero II but this is one for the price is not so bad. If I am not wrong you will review another "podgo" style multieffect pretty soon ? (according to your last guitar news video)
Hi, thank you, I'm happy that you like my videos! Actually, I have the NUX Amp Academy to review (official launch in march) and then some pedals... Thank you once more!
I liked the plexi on the pod go. The fender clean tone, chorus and plate reverb, was better on the Gp200 imo.Mod effects on the pod go sounds a bit saturated imo. Thanks for the video. I use a GT 1 thinking of switching to the GP 200
I'm a big Line 6 fan. POD 2.0, POD HD, Variax, Amplifi 150, Helix, POD Go. The POD Go is the "turd in the punchbowl" for me. No matter how I set it, it just doesn't sound very good. The POD 2.0 beats it for great sound. Just my $0.02. As much of a Line 6 guy as I am, I'd get the Valeton between these two.
Well, that was a dangerous review... Both sound pretty decent in a mix, but as soon as you play them alone, the sounds are really not good, very shallow. The effects don't sound good either, seems like there's a lot of artifacts. I hesitated a bit when I watched your previous review, it was tempting, but now it's clear the bigger devices are not expensive for no reason 😜
Great detailed side by side comparison! Thank you for your care and professional unbiased test and opinions! Very helpful as I try to figure the next step in my 'sound'. Love your studio!!! Keep sharing and comparing! All the best!
Onthe studio speaker im using to listen to this, having youtube compression in mind i would choose the Pod Go. Sounds more authentic in my ears. Most noticably at 12:43 in the sound example there. THe Valeton just has the familiar digital touch to it, i dont like it. Thank you for the comparison.
I want to upgrade my POD XT Live. Would you still recommend the POD to play at church? Basically I want to play at church and I want to download some decent presets to play with

Brilliantly said, so refreshing to hear and sooo true, thankyou.
I have no idea how you release videos so quickly with this quality of production. I always enjoy.
Playing musician, session player, or teacher, with gobs of theoretical knowledge. That's how.
Just watched this for the first time and note this is 2 years since you posted this video but I just wanted to say this absolutely brilliant! So much effort and work has gone into this video comparison. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for your feedback!! I'm really happy that you appreciate the video!!!!
Man, the sounds we can get for not a lot of money these days. What a time to be a guitar player. IMO you would be happy with either of these units.
Yes, I do agree...with few $ you can get amazing tones....
Thanks
Indeed my friend truly awesome 🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿
Thank you Leo, your presentation and comparison really helped me in deciding what guitar effect would suit me. In my heart, I chose a real amp,. In my brain I chose the Line 6 Pod GO and in my budget I chose the Valeton GP200. In the end, my choice fell to the Valeton GP200 where in comparison you did, the GP200 was close to the sound of the original amp. So, many thanks and warm greetings from Bali.
Thank you so much, I'm happy to have been of some help!!! Very nice point about heart, brain and budget...😊...it a pretty cool way of seeing things!!!
Setelah penggunaan valeton gp200 apakah ada masalah?
@@melkisedekkasiaheng1761 Very satisfying for prices in the middle class. If you have more funds, it's worth considering buying the BOSS GT1000. The best sound I've ever heard with the new technology
Effects were a little bit “sweeter,” to my ear, on the podGo. But both amp sounds were good. I only caught a minuscule increase in background noise with the plexi sound on the Valeton. Thank you for taking pains to thoroughly compare the units. Your videos are very useful as I explore my options for direct guitar sounds. Also, loving your songs.
Thank you Jacob, I'm happy to have been of some help and I'm super happy that you like the songs!!!
Hi, thank you for sharing your findings and I'm really happy that you like the video!!!
Thank you so much, really super appreciated! I'm happy that you like the video and the playing!!!
Thanks
Hi, thank you so much for sharing!
I'm really happy that you appreciate the video and your subscription really means a lot to me!!!
Thank you!!!
Thanks Leo, what a great job you’re doing with these comparisons. Super professional but also respectful about the final use of these, contious about the fact the needs depend on use.
Thank you so much, I'm really happy that you appreciate the videos!!!
For comparison videos I come to your channel always first, by far the best videos online. Great job Leo!
Hi, thank you so much, this is a great compliment that really makes me happy!!!
I really like the fact that the GP-200 offers a more flexible signal chain and doesn't seem to max out its processing power quite as easily as the pod go does. The GP-200 is a no-brainer! Thanks Leo.
You are welcome and thank you for sharing your opinion!!
@JCW 308 So what would you say is more flexible with the GP-200 ? Im not saying it is bad in any way, its just that perticular aspect i pointed out.
Cheers
Hi, thank you for sharing ...I didn't know about that price difference ... pretty big.
Thank you!
Wow, those are some ridiculous prices for you Aussies :O That really sucks!!! I feel ya mate!
Same in the UK POD rocking around £450+
Where the GP200 is at max £300 50% more 💀
Great look at the two! Also, if you already have a good audio interface with better sample rates, the Valeton already has XLR outs vs needing an adapter.
Hi Scott, thank you both for the compliments and for sharing your opinion!
@@LeoGibsonGtr Bravo , Leo ! Viva la bella Italia !
Grazie!!! un caro saluto!!!
Great demo ... as usual. Thanks for that ! I found the reverb and delay effects better on the Pod Go ... still, not bad in the Valeton ... price difference is a major + for the Valeton although ... so would go for the Valeton ... ;-)
Hi, thank you. I'm happy that you like the demo! Thank you also for sharing your opinion!
What I've heard is three different amps, all sound great, with minor differences between them. I would say, go with the lower price.
Hi, thank you for sharing...good point!

Very exhaustive comparison, excellent job.
Thank you for this valuable information and also for your professional opinion!
Thank you, so much, I'm really happy that you have appreciated the video!!!
Hi Michael, thank you, I'm happy you like the videos!
Thank you also for the correction!
What a great work done!!! Your work looks like scientific research!!! Thank you, wish you health and luck!!
Thank you so much, I'm really happy that you have appreciated the video!!!!
first of all.... PEACE..✌😎
You are welcome and I'm really happy that you like the video!
Thank you so much also for sharing your findings and your final decision!!!
Cheers! bye!
Hi, thank you so much for sharing your findings and I'm really happy that you have appreciated the video!!!
I have the same of units and I totally agree with you, I definetely prefer the Zoom!
Both sound great. I will say that Line 6 pod has a solid reliability record. Not sure about the others. And the updates are another good thing with Line 6 and it's history. I still have a Pod Pro and Pod xt in my stable. They work perfectly after all these years.
Hi, thank you for sharing your opinion and experience!
Reliability (trust over time of use) = is my #1 priority . I will choose Pd GO for now . Great video, Maestro Leo !
Thank you for sharing your findings and I'm super happy that you like the video!!!
This has made it even more difficult for me to choose, I was going for the pod go because the snap shot feature is handy,. But now very undecided
Yes, it's a pretty hard decision...
Great comparison, thanks for that! I may be wrong, but it seems as if the GP 200 has a scene function which can be activated with the CTRL switch, saw this being used in other videos.
Thank you!
It's strange, as I asked to Valeton guys if the scenes were available and they told me the they are not available....I will check it out once more
@@LeoGibsonGtr That is really strange, an example is here: th-cam.com/video/QJLs6X4X1bM/w-d-xo.html
You also see this in their videos for their presets in which they use it too. I really hope it has it, because I ordered one already. :)
Yeah, I think the ctrl switch will only turn on and off only one scene within a preset
This was exactly the kind of video I was looking for!
Thank you for letting me know!!!!
I normally hate these comparison videos because there’s too much “faffing” it’s too difficult to compare like with like, but here I understood clearly, followed throughout and had useful information on which to decide which modelling I thought worked best. To my surprise, I’m leaning towards the Valeton….
Hi, I'm happy to have been of some help!
Thank you for your feedback and for sharing you final choice!
I had the POD GO and returned it, about 3 months ago. I just bought the GP200 and really like it. Very easy to program and set up. Leo, it would be great if you could show how to control the GP200 with midi. I cannot find anything with regards to that on the web. Thanks for your videos, really love them.
You are welcome and I'm happy that you have found the videos useful!
Thank you also for your suggestion...a video about midi could be interning...
Heart warming for me 😊
What specifically made you choose the Valeton over the pod go?
En cuanto al tono, definitivamente la Valeton se acerca mucho mas que la POD GO. Excelente video!
Thank you so much, I'm really happy that you like the video.
Thank you also for sharing your opinion!
Hi Leo. Excellent review as usual. But I'd also like to point out that you're a exceptionally good guitar player. I always enjoy your tunes. Well done! Out of interest, a comparison to its cousin, the Ampero, would be great.
Leo can make even a bad unit sound superb
Thank you so much for such great compliments !!!
Thank you!
@@LeoGibsonGtr Thank you so much. And once again, great videos, I appreciate all the hard work you put in to make them so good!
For a faster comparison you can just forward the time in the video timeline. The point was to showcase the full decay time. Its far more useful to err on the side of length, showcasing the full effect which can always be shortened by a single click in the timeline vs cutting it short which would be impossible to add something that was cut.
Thank you Rick, thank you G4LCTC. Yes, my intention was to showcase properly the decay, and the trick you suggest here is very useful!!! Thank you!

Thanks, you have put a lot of work into this.
Thank you Steve, I'm happy that you recognise and appreciate the effort!!!
Hi, thank you for sharing your opinion and experience!

Hi, thank you so much, I'm really super happy that you like the video!!!
Nevertheless for sure also distortion is hard to replicate
Thank you!
Thank you so much! Yes, I see what you mean and thank you so much for your feedback!!!
Hi Damian, thank you for sharing your findings!

I talked about the foot switches distances in my demo review here: th-cam.com/video/_v5S5oN_Kz8/w-d-xo.html
In that video I showed the distance for the GP 200 and I compared it to the POD GO, therefore I preferred not to do the same thing also here.
Hi, thank you for sharing!
I make that mistake on the Helix LT which is much bigger than either of them. I guess neither the POD GO and the GP200 are atta the option for me. lol
It will be so much better if we can at the very least disable the bank up and down switches or if we can use them to switch effects on and off instead.
One of the best gear comparison channels.
Thank you so much! Really super appreciated!!!
Great videos man, thanks!!
You are welcome, I'm happy that you like the video!
Pod doesn't have the balanced XLR outputs that the Valeton has. This is a prerequisite for direct to PA / serious stage use IMO. Although the Pod can be used, a seperate DI unit is required and good ones are not cheap.
I'm considering the Valeton for my live shows.
Leo seu trabalho é excelente, continue. Brazil here.
Thank you, I'm super happy that you like the video!
Muito bom Leo! Achei a GP200 mais orgânica 😅

Hi Leo,
New subscriber here, love the channel! (Mostly just the playing 👌)
What are your thoughts on this up against the hotone ampero? Would love to hear your any feedback
Hi Andy, thank you so much, your sub really means a lot!
Well, both the units belong to the same company, so I think they are sharing the amp modelling algorithms. The new Ampero Stomp 2 has much more options in term of cabs, mics positioning, etc. and obviously the Valeton has the 8 foot switches.
Thank you once more!
Again, great comparison! Can't hear any tonal difference. I don't record, so I will go for GP200!

Exelente comparación, cómo siempre un buen trabajo de calidad sigue adelante👍
Que opinas de La Nux MG 30 comparando Valenton y pod go

Hi, thank you!!!
They are all great units...of course the main difference are the number of foot switches available, as the MG 30 has 3 (plus 2)
You are welcome and I'm happy that you like the videos!!! I do agree with you....
But Indian rupees 37000
Too much price according to UK
Great video as always Leo ! Both of the units sound very good and very similar to both each other and the original amps even though there are of course slight differences. There is one thing i reacted to though and it is that you say that the order in the effect chain in POD Go is fixed and that is not correct.
Hi Stefan, thank you, I'm happy that you like the video!
The Valeton GP-200 catches my attention
Yes, interesting unit. Thank you for sharing!
I think the number of Effects, Snapshots, and overall Tone keeps the Pod Go in the lead, if I needed a Floor unit. Thanks
Thank you for sharing your opinion and experience!
Thank You for the video Leo, Especially in this moment I’m looking for a multi effects pedal.
Could you do a video to compare the Headrush Mx 5 and the Valeton gp 200? Or give me your advice on which one to choose ?
Thank you !
I feel like you don't get enough credit for that brilliant octopus story
😀
Great stuff. Would love to see a video shooting out the Valeton with the Headrush gigboard
Hi, thank you, I'm happy that you like the video!!! Thank you also for your suggestion!
Great video as always!!! Grazie!!!
Thank you, really super appreciated!!
I PROMISE. HAHAHAHAHA
Thank you Tony, really super appreciated and I'm happy that you like the video!
@@LeoGibsonGtr Not only this, from now on I´m a great fan of your channel. I repeat thanks. great, great work. Nive to meet you.
Super!!! 👍👍
The Valeton might be a good option until my name comes up on the waiting list to buy the Fractal FM9...
So I am looking for something very inexpensive until that time for recording. Nice video, as always, Leo...
PS...I wish how much longer I needed to wait for the FM9!
Philip
NYC Area
@@LeoGibsonGtr Yes, I agree Leo...One should never say never!
On another note, I enjoy your in depth videos and great info and well accomplished playing. All the best...
Philip
Thank you so much, when you like my playing...I'm super happy!
L E O - THANKS for all the work to compare these !! - liked and subscribed -
But - NO personal tweaking would have been much better... just to hear what the units put out by themselves -
to REALLY compare them !
Some more Crunch tones chords would have been much better ! That's what Marshall is all about !
All the patches sounded a little better with more slightly more range and high end in the Valeton - to me
How could you Not mention the wireless in the Line 6 ... is it Not in the Valeton ? - which makes the Line 6 even more expensive...
Hi, you are welcome and your sub really means a lot to me!
In the "My 2 cent section" of the video you can hear both the tweacked tones and the NON tweaked ones.
I don't have the wireless POD GO, and here I'm comparing the standard version.
Thank you for your message!
Next should be Valeton GP-200 VS Nux mg 30
😀 thank you for your suggestion!
Hi, thank you so much for sharing your findings!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and your findings!
Hi, thank you for sharing you opinion!
Useful videos, thanks. And what about Valeton GP-200 vs Hotone Ampero? I'm trying to choose one of them...
Thank you! Well, I think I have not done a comparison...good suggestion..thank you!
Just for my own speed comparison . . .
MARSHALL:
Original: 11:47
Valeton: 12:05
Pod GO: 12:21
FENDER
Original: 17:16
Valetron: 17:32
Pod GO: 17:47
Thank you!
Thanks for your video, Leo!!! Please could you make a comparation between the Valeton and the Ampero???
Hi Juan, you are welcome! Thank you for your suggestion!
Great detailed side by side comparison! Thank you for your care and professional unbiased test and opinions! Very helpful as I try to figure the next step in my 'sound'. Love your studio!!! Keep sharing and comparing! All the best!
Thank you so much, I'm super happy that you like the video!!! Your feedback is very important for me!!!
valeton and sonicake matribox ii set side by side for the next video please? this would also be helpful for us viewers willing to go for one of them!!
Hi, yes, I'm working on something similar....but now that Tone Master PRO is out...I'm focusing a bit more and that...
Thank you!
Hi Leo, about the Valeton GP 200, it has a good quality pitch shifter effect. Could I simulate a "whammy"(digitech) satisfactorily?
Thank you for the video
You are welcome!!
You are welcome and thank you for sharing your opinion!
POD for Church/Worship because everyone writes for Line6 in that genre. GP-200 for gigging bars. Thank you Leo and Best Regards / Best Wishes!
You are welcome and thank you for sharing!
I want to upgrade my POD XT Live. Would you still recommend the POD to play at church? Basically I want to play at church and I want to download some decent presets to play with
🇧🇷 Muito boa demostração!
Tenho assistido, vários vídeos do canal! Belo trabalho!
