Well this video is a bit different. It's very casual, on purpose with minimal editing...sort of a behinds the scenes video. But Sarah does give you a new recipe Low Carb Slower Cooker Steak Bites. It's easy to make, versatile and affordable. Enjoy! www.cjsketokitchen.com/low-carb-slow-cooker-steak-bites/ 00:00 - Overly Dramatic Intro 04:20 - Hand Washing and Editing 05:46 - Not Dressing Up for Film 06:34 - Sitting Down 07:12 - On Screen - DId you Catch That?! 07:44 - In the Pot 08:26 - Camera Man Not Paying Attention 10:03 - The Never Ending Story 12:14 - 5-Hours Later (Final Prep)
I just made your steak bites this morning before I went to church. This recipe was done when I got home this afternoon. I used 3 1/2 lbs. cut-up sirloin steak instead of stew meat. Believe it or not, the steak was on sale and almost half the cost of stew meat. In addition to your ingredients, I added fresh garlic and cracked pepper. I thickened the sauce with xanthan gum. I served it with sauteed mushrooms, gluten-free macaroni, and sour cream. It was quick, easy, and so delicious. Thank you.
I agree with the beef browning because, as Chef Anne Borell says, "brown food tastes good." This recipe looks perfect for a low energy day. I get out of my sweats to go grocery shopping at Walmart.....not fancy clothes, but an upgrade from my "lounging clothes". So I do get the dressing nice thing. Thanks Sarah.
I'm going to try it I did hear that you can't have too much meat in the pot when you're using small pieces because you basically only succeed in steaming it. I do not know if that's true
It’s only 6 o’clock in the morning and this is the first video that came up for the day. This recipe looks so good that I’m actually hungry for dinner before I’m really even 100% awake! Thanks y’all, for another enjoyable video…the cooking, the conversation and yes, the comedic camaraderie! LOL I came back to add, that since CJ thinks the name “steak bites” is boring, you could always call it Sarah’s stroganoff.😊
Looks great! I’m all about steak! I’ll have to find that pasta too and try it out. I’ve been thinking about getting a carbon steel pan. Glad to watch you using it. Recipe looks super delicious. Thanks for sharing! Much appreciated!😊
Thanks for this recipe, can’t wait to try it! I’ll be waiting for your video on how to use either baking soda or baking powder to tenderize beef. Again, thanks to both of you for all you do!!🙏🏽❤️
I loved this unedited version. I retired from a corporate job after 25 years. I cooked many a meal in those exact slippers. It’s possible to cook a good low carb meal, while working hard for the money. Thank you Sara. I love you for keeping it real. It reminds of my kitchen late cooking chatting with my husband after a long day. ❤❤❤❤
I haven't even finished watching the video and I am wanting to comment that I appreciate you coming on being yourself. I have wondered why it is that people don't care to look nice any more. I asked that question to myself because I am finding that I am letting myself go unless I have to leave the house. But I am glad ya'll are having a good time just talking to each other and being sweet and such. Ya'll are such a sweet couple! I loved the wig at the end! I will have to try this recipe. There are some cheaper cuts of beef that I don't buy because they are so tough. I can't seem to broil, braise, bake it and it be tender. It never occurred to me to use the crock pot! So I will give this a go. Thanks for your special video! I enjoyed it so much!
Looks good! I gave my crockpot away because I didn't use it for so long but the Instant pot has a slow cooker function. I often find that round or sirloin is cheaper than stew meat
this reminds me of Mississippi pot roast....which is so popular and fits with low carb....we use the same recipe only subbing chicken for the beef for a change
Oh also, I have a friend just like you!! QUEEN of Casseroles-and so, of course, a year and two months ago when I became keto and found you, I definitely shared you knowing that she would just love everything you made, and she does. Lol. She’s also queen of using the slow cooker for everything including casseroles. I love your recipes because you have taken tons and tons of original recipes from the sad diet, and made them doable on keto so that we still get to have our favorites without feeling deprived, and for that I thank you immensely. I also love that you add some recommended books- for someone who comes across you and they’re new at starting this way of eating in a lifestyle. It’s really helpful to find books that can help educate them and for them to know that they’re not crackpot people but actually good sound authors in this field. You guys are wonderful ♥️ .
Recipe sounds good. Love the crock pot. We eat a lot of beef too.. I made Philly cheese steak stuffed peppers last night. I brown my beef too all around because I was told it retains juice. Dry beef is hard to swallow. Husband and I liked a baked potato with the beef tips on top and maybe side of broccoli back in the day before keto. Just as good with cauliflower mash. I do a cheat with the mash and add 1/4 cup instant potatoes making it taste better and thickening up. I'm not carnivore but have my other meal carb free when I do that. I use a bag of frozen cauliflower for just us.
You had me at steak bites! 😋 Thank you for keeping it real. I have tried several of your recipes and have enjoyed them all. Casseroles are my favorite. So easy to put together. Thank you for always sharing. 😊
Hey Sarah, your a godsend. I’ve been trying to figure out how to make beef tips in my head. You know for a recipe and he just sold it for me with I would never have thought of the argue and that if you onion Lipton’s flavor, that’s looks so delicious. I can’t wait to try it.. I am just a little south of you in Olympia, Washington, and I was wondering where you picked up those noodles. I don’t think they carry those in Fred Meyer Safeway‘s or Albertson’s and not Trader Joe’s either but being north of Seattle I think you’ve got a lot more variety, stores and health foods and little Olympia. Let me know I’m interested.. thanks Sara for the cooking and CJ for the filming, and it is actually nice to see you banter between each other for the first time. Well, Kinda for the first time.. lol
Newcomer here. This is a great recipe. Thanks for trying it out. Also, speaking of clothes, wherever and whenever did you get your sweater? I had one like it many years ago and I have never been able to find one again of the same material.
CJ You're awesome! You do a great job. Ive worked 12 hr nightshift. Us women work hard.So I go to the store without makeup.....would even love to be my slippers. Thanks for all you do and cook! ❤. Ps. And I wouldn't even ask if you wash your hands. Of course you do girl. Because it's a given that you're a quality person. 😊
great recipe. do you do recipes designed for 1 person . i am single and i would like to do some of your recipes but jus for 1 person or for 2. thanks for your efforts.
Honestly, no, not often. We have three teenagers in the house that eat like adults, so I most often cook in bulk. We have a few more single serve style recipes up on our blog. This is a favorite: www.cjsketokitchen.com/keto-kickin-cajun-chicken-wraps/
I watch for ideas and inspiration and entertainment. I've heard the handwashing speech from all the youtubers I'm subscribed to and I just gotta say if people want to see the handwashing going on they can watch themselves wash their own hands.

Love this video. CJ is so funny. Love the wig! When you told Alexa to turn off the timer, my Alexa answered that I have no timers set. Lol
That is awesome! 😆😆😆
Mine said "You have no timer set"
Mine too lol

Why do you put a towel over the crock pot
Helps keep the heat in and absorbs moisture
I love the wig😊
That looked so yummy‼️
New here, what is the brand of low carb pasta you used and where do you purchase it.
Enjoy your videos, great recipes.

Oh I just remembered. Your name is Sarah. 😊
No worries 😉
Those are cute slippers
It looks yummy except it is going to be to salty because of the onion packets, beef bouillon and not good for people with high blood pressure too.
We found it just right for the large amount of meat. Thanks for watching 🌷
Have a great day to both of you. 😊
You too!💐

I don’t have a slow cooker, but my Instant Pot has that feature that I’ve not used yet. This seems a perfect recipe to try it with. Thanks!
