Why does almost every single guy in Hollywood have to date or marry 20 plus years their junior? Some people dismiss this as love but I see through it and it makes me sad that women are no longer good enough for a man around their own age! Its really sad for women of a certain age these days!

I've been married for over 52yrs ,my husband is 10yrs older than me, my Grandfather was 16yrs older than my grandmother, my sister was 20yrs younger than her husband and all of us have had long marriages.
At 70 it wont be that long before he will be gone, he wont see this child into teenage and she will be left as a young single mother that no other man wants. These old men are purely selfish/self centred and as entitled as it is possible to be!!!

I hate when we judged people by they age. Everyone have the right to find the happiness at any age. In my case I’m a daughter from one very young couple 19,23 who never were there. I’m 44 and never get to know them as loving parents. Never saw them together even in picture. For my own good I stopped to see them. I was just lucky to have my grandma till age of 14. After that I’m practically on my own with one aunt support. I will be mother with my husband 64 en no one shouldn’t tell me anything about being good parents or old. They just have to look around kids without parents and use all the energy helping them. Even we will not be longer with our kid I’m sure he will be loved and will have a good, strong basis to go further in his life. More than many kids.
Usually in these cases both parties win...He gets some fresh, younger body while she gets his money and fame...It's a win-win partnership...No love involved in these cases !

I could never be that selfish and do that to a child and I used to work in the most expensive neighborhood in Canada and quite frankly the teenagers there were quite upset that their dads were really old and quite frankly they felt like they couldn't relate. It complained about having parents that were like great grandparents instead of real parents I could never be that selfish I don't think it's a great thing.
I know a doctor who had children at 70 with the love of his life. He can spend so much time with his children, and live more fully with them. Those children witness and experience a real sense of presence, and more patience, attention and unconditional love than many other children will ever get to experience. Their father has so much more emotional intelligence than a younger fellow by virtue of his age. Those children are blessed, with 2 parents that love them, and not not in a fatherless or loveless home. Very sacred, and such a gift. Everything is relative.

I don' t think it is the right thing to do, having a child at 70. When he or she hits puberty you are in your eighties. For me it is an act of egoism. You'll have medical problems when you get older. I think it's unfair to the children brought in when one partner is older. It's okay for the couple involved to remain childless & in love. Our lifespans are finite in nature so accept that fact. I feel very sorry for their children, my children were embarrassed that I was an older mother at school and I was under half of his age. He is old enough to be their great grandfather. His children will get teased a lot. He shouldn't have brought children into it.

My great grandfather was 69 when I was born and I have two older siblings. Funny how a dad can be older than a GREAT grandfather. If they are happy great.
What an awful reason to marry someone. It won’t last. It can’t last . He’s too old and how selfish . I was 24 when my dad died. He was 53 when I was born. I was lucky to have him that long but I had a nervous breakdown. His poor children. He will love them more knowing he will soon die and they will be the ones to suffer.
I agree with you in part, but life is never promised to us. I lost my dad when I was 22 years old and he was only 53. He may live till his children are 30.

Hmmmmm. . .Gere and Silva definitely didn't lose touch when she was a teenager which would't have been notable had they not made a point of saying they had. I personally saw them several times staying in a guest house on the same property I was on and let's just say it was right around that time. No aspersions -- always glad to see love.

I think this is sick and egoistic. My father had me when he was 50 and at school everybody thought he was my grandad whereas my mother, that was 10 years younger looked fresh and young. I always had a bad time growing up because of this situation.

I feel very sorry for their children, my children were embarrassed that I was an older mother at school and I was under half of his age. He is old enough to be their great grandfather. His children will get teased a lot. He shouldn't have brought children into it.
A lot of kids have older parents these days. I know several of my friends that are new parents in their 40s.
