    Whenever I see someone talking about the lock failing on the ZT0350 they pretty much use the spine to hammer something like it's Mjolnir. No shit something's gonna go wrong.

    Thanks to the law of diminishing returns, I cannot justify buying a ZT over a nice Kershaw for actual EDC use.
    An exception is the ZT Hinderer...Because it's essentially a half price Hinderer.

    ZT got some really cool weird knives

  • @Erikhw187
    @Erikhw187 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Actually love the aesthetics of the knife, but it definitely comes off like an easy use knife. I've noticed designs that have exposed detent holes seem to be fancier design that expect the buyer to use as a true edc and more of collecting thing/easy use.
    The back locking bar almost reminds of an ad-15 but obviously they are nothing alike.
    Nice review.

    I wanna like but besides the 20cv blade steel it's an over priced Kershaw which is what they should have done just used d2 blade steel charged 100 dollars and made it a Kershaw

    ZT designs are steadily sinking to “WTH” levels. I have some great earlier ZTs (0452 and 0308). They are great knives and the 0452 is my EDC. Poor ZT has lost its way!

    • @tristandauod
      @tristandauod 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. I had an 0850 and that one was surprisingly good. Super smooth action on pb washers and the sub-framelock was cool (with no lock-up issues).

    • @AudibleVisibIe
      @AudibleVisibIe 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed these designs are trash but I didn't love the 450 series either

    • @adamimberti6948
      @adamimberti6948 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is much closer to some of the early ZT designs than it is to the current stuff.
      They did the classic hard use folders (0350, 0550) and they did some usually limited more futuristic knives like this one. If anything this knife is a nod to the past.
      0452 isn't an earlier design, it is smack in the middle of the classic ZT's and the modern stuff that I think we can all agree is mostly pretty awful.

  • @thepracticalblade9013

    "Why do people keep buying all these Chinese knives?!?!?!?!?!"
    Because they don't even have to ask if the metal parts of the handle are TI when you get above like $100. Lol.
    Companies like Reate are just ANNIHILATING ZT on F&F and materials these days.

    Personally I think all this hype about titanium is exactly that, hype. Isn't the ultimate point of titanium in an application like this to make the heavy parts of a knife lighter? but this thing is less than 3oz, so what's the benefit of titanium in this case? making it less rigid, easier to scratch, and more expensive, so I can brag to people online that it's made of titanium? I guess some anodizing would be pretty sweet and they can do some CF with woven fabric in it to match...
    That aside, I'm going out on a limb here, but I suspect making the scales/frame of the knife in Ti was a no go. There's gotta be metal that CF where the spine and handle meet, which I THINK is just gonna be a part of the steel scales under the CF overlay, and maybe that's just too thin of a piece to make out of Ti? I suspect that if they did remake this is Ti alot or all of that CF is gonna have to kick rocks.
    Not that that's my area of expertise or anything. I'd actually be very interested to see someone do a disassembly of this knife just so I can see what's going on underneath.

    Cool looking knife, and great idea paying tribute to the 999, but Anyone who’s handled a 450 and 452 knows 3.25 is just too small for a lot of edc. This would’ve been sooo much better if it was 3.75-4” I’d probly own 3 if it were

  • @landonjones676

    I have got to quit buying knives. I’ve spent almost $2000 in knives within the past 3 weeks. Just ordered a something obscene jcape 3.5 last night and a smock natural g10 m4 today...... this is a problem. The only knife company I’m not interested in happens to be ZT. This video definitely doesn’t help at all.

    3:20 "Not titanium, but steel"
    ZT lost me long time ago, at that very moment they started to put cheap materials on knives that came after iconic Sinkevich knives that were about the same level price-wise. Yes I still keep checking them out from time to time for some reason. 🤷‍♀

      I agree, and that’s from me, a very early adopter. The 0200 military knife was a beast, the 0301 another beast! I still have those 2. The only one I regretted giving away was the 0350, and i lucked out finding and re-buying the 0350 in carbon fiber with m390! The only one i regret not buying was the MUDD. All the others i traded away for one reason or another…
