Matt your my favorite youtuber, and I'm literally writing this with a sore shoulder so this comes at a most opportune time for me, but it's obvious this past week you were like "holy moly, push up videos it is"! Haha, all your vids deserve that much attention!
You probably dont care at all but does someone know a way to log back into an instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my login password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
I'm watching you while eating b/fast, having my mind absorb all this pushup knowledge and then translate into my body automatically becoming stronger.💪💪.mind body connections😌....One punch man?🤔😉
Notice how he keeps the elbows tucked in on those twisting pushups, folks. You don't want to let them flair out and potentially cause any damage to the shoulder. Crawling pushups are my favorite. I love them forward and backward and randomly stopping and holding for an isometric hold. Matt, I know you already know this but maybe some other folks would love the challenge. Another favorite that can be adjusted to any level but still a great challenge are the classic (and dreaded) 21s. 7 top half range, 7 bottom half range, and 7 full range = 1 rep. Have fun with those. I can also reccomend using stairs, if you have it, to safely practice typewriter or unilateral pushups. This gives you the ability to adjust easily. Also, you can pyramid or drop set you regular pushups and really burn them out. Enjoy folks!
Adding the time element is something i always add to my squats. 20-25 hindu and normal squats every minute for 8 to 12 minutes, absolute killer and the doms is great
I'm surprised at how very little is needed to build muscle size . Lately I've been doing just 1 or 2 moves each workout and I'm gaining like crazy ! I believe this is because of the maximum recovery my body is experiencing from less CNS stimulation and elevated cortisol as i usually do much higher volume .
Hi, I’ve watched your video on the mistakes people make during push ups and think it very useful. I’ve recently started feeling a strange pain on my upper back and shoulder blade area after just a few push ups. Are you aware of any possible causes/fixes?
Hard to know what's causing pain, but I would take a video of you doing push-ups, from the top angle, and see if you're hunching up your shoulders. Also, make sure you'll allowing your shoulders to protract at the top of each rep. Trying to keep your shoulders pinched at the top might be causing a bit of strain on those traps.
Wonderful video!! hi Matt, what do you think of one arm one leg push up, is it effective to build strength and muscle like one arm push up (close legs)? Thank you.
Hey Matt, sorry for the late comment, but I wanted to ask this on a more pertinent video. Why are parallel bar dips and regular pushups more-or-less equally difficult for me? My max on both are about the same amount of reps. I'm doing the dips with good depth (just below parallel) so I don't understand why pushups are relatively more difficult, especially since dips are supposed to be tougher. Ideas?
I would say it's because you're getting more dialed in and strict with your push-ups. yes, dips are working with more total bodyweight gains gravity, but if you get the leverage right, they should still be pretty difficult.
@@RedDeltaProject That makes sense, thanks for the response. I'll work on my dips more. I honestly have a feeling it's a tension issue (chest, probably). Thanks again!
Brother, I'm so frustrated. No matter what I attempt or how hard I try to follow the examples given, my push-ups just end up hurting my shoulders and I don't feel anything in my chest. In fact, I've never been able to build my chest with any any exercise, weights or anything. I just don't understand why this is.
That depends on a whole host of other factors and it's never a one-size-fits-all. SO it all depends on: - Your training history - What techniques you're using - How hard you push yourself into a high state of fatigue - Your goals - Your recovery and lifestyle factors like sleep, diet, stress management etc. just to name a few. But for now, just do what you like if your'e starting out. It's hard to screw this sort of thing up however you do it. And add or subtract how much you do based on how strong you can perform subsequent workouts.
I also like pause pushups, where i hold the bottom iso for a second or two, then finish off with the iso to bust as my last one.
Absolutely phenomenal!!! We need one for pull and leg chain too. God bless matt !!!
I love the push-up exercises. They are so underrated. Keep up the videos.

Matt this is awesome! Are you gonna do one of these for the other muscle chains as well?

Such a usefull summary of many of your microWO videos. Thanks, will save it preciously!
Ingenuity & variety is a great idea. I get the concept.
Appreciate if you would provide similar ideas for other simple exercises eg pull ups... etc
Adding the time element is something i always add to my squats. 20-25 hindu and normal squats every minute for 8 to 12 minutes, absolute killer and the doms is great
Pullup/row variants next?! Excellent video
These all apply just the same with pull-ups but some moves you may want to regress to rows or seated pull-ups so they can be a bit more manageable.
Thanks alot brother! great stuff!!
Quality content!
Thanks man. I do narrow push ups for iso dynamic 1 minute workout. I feel so good and comfortable with that.. Hope will gain something..
I do Deficit Push Ups on low Parallettes holding for 1 or 2 secs at the bottom of each rep. When I get stronger I will then include a weighted vest.
so many variations, It really helps to make the workouts more fun and to help keep your focus. Thanks!
Excellent as always.. 👍💥💪💯
Glad i found this channel! Thanks Matt

Thanks for this Matt! Great examples of workouts
Absolute Gold!!!
Good
I do 5*60 pushups followed by many squats. Great hard workout but do you recommend me to change my routine? And mix it up with other forms of pushups?
Wonderful video!! hi Matt, what do you think of one arm one leg push up, is it effective to build strength and muscle like one arm push up (close legs)? Thank you.
I love your work but I am a little worried about my traps growing too big Is there anything you can advise? I’m a woman btw
Thanks in advance
Is all this on your microworkouts book??
Thanks for making my push workouts for the next couple weeks! Seriously though, this is gold. Now repeat this video for pulling and squatting, please!

I think this man knows EvErYthIng about push ups
Not yet.
Give me a few more weeks though ;)
The one thing I didn’t see was a recommendation on how often and for how long. Every day? Every other day? Every three days? 5 mins? 30 mins? 1 hr?
