  • When I got this mower it wouldn't start, it had the most common problem you see on a small 4 stroke. Easy, free fix

    Now that carburetor made it look easy. I wish they all would cooperate like that. Sorry about Sunday family stuff.

    I put 2 stud bolts in motor, put carb stuff in order, hold carb, pull bolt 1 at a time, & slide in other bolt. easy peasy. Love ya Bill. old retired Guy.

      I thought about changing over this one but the base gasket was good, and it stayed in place this time. That's the one that wears me out 🙂

    Didn't realize you had a channel till now so I subscribed so's I can antagonise you as well as House/Home garage. Your fix is typical of most stuff today. I put a pressure washer together out of one of those plastic cam Briggs motor, a Troy-bilt cart and a dud pump and Ebay. I used the motor and cart and Ebayed the rest but it'd just brun when the choke was closed. Main jet clogged. Have a 'T' and a gas valve to put a drain in the line going to the carb and I won't worry about that deal anymore. Just drain the tank totally and loosen the carb bowl nut and that's that. The wife loves the Stihl mower and as long as she does all the trimming I will too. My old 85 Snapper is my own deal till I work on it more. Governor is goofy. So Happy Texas Summer. I was in the Army with several from there and they were 1st rate! One could knock old Bob Wills fiddle tunes OUT of the park. Radio man in an Engineer outfit. I was on a guitar. BLESSINGS!

    Honda. The older HR models had studs , all of them , they are the same as the studs on the exhaust side but longer.

    • @GuysPlayingWithTools
      @GuysPlayingWithTools  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They did. Some people liked the studs because it allows you to hang the back plate and gaskets, I am not a fan because it adds a step to taking the linkage apart. You can't please everybody LOL

    The gas plus the carb are the first one's to be looked at then the spark plug fuel line is another one plus the fuel filter or the pump if it has one of those

    • @GuysPlayingWithTools
      @GuysPlayingWithTools  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup. Plug problems are rare though, they may make them run badly, but most mowers will at least start with a bad plug.

    • @GuysPlayingWithTools
      @GuysPlayingWithTools  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Robert Mailhos True, going in, you never know where you will end up. Could have been nothing more than a sticky choke or bad gas. Nothing surprises me anymore.

    Nice looking mower and good runner in the end well done. We get many of these at Eliminator Performance and these are other fuel related items that could cause this problem: 1. internal inline fuel filter at fuel tank outlet that is plugged (mainly because many add their fuel outdoors when it is windy and grass and dust enter the fuel tank) 2: plugged up fuel shutoff valve (rare but we have seen a few over the years mainly because someone has removed the inline fuel filter) 3. plugged pilot jet which is on the top end of the carb if this one had the plastic inserted pilot assembly. Just wondering if this one had the wax insert auto choke system? We have not seen one of these at our shop yet!

    • @GuysPlayingWithTools
      @GuysPlayingWithTools  ปีที่แล้ว

      It had the plain old choke. I tell people all the time not to fill the tanks in the yard... it wrecks the grass and sometimes the mower.
      On this one, I was "feeling" the jets right off the bat, but didn't want to rule anything out.
