Double thanks for the vid Chops, my cumpan unit arrived last week- but I’d put off fitting it until you’d posted in case you found any pitfalls that the Berotec video had glossed over. Your comment on the exhaust gasket and burning into the petrol tank made me check my wobbly Akrapovic dealer fitted unit- yep no gasket. Collected from local KTM dealer and fitted today- much better.
One of the best build series around. I'm currently rebuilding an 2014 Aprilia RS4 125 that I brought for £300. This makes me want to work even harder and make it perfect. 👍👍

Niiiice. Loving the dash assistant. Think it'll have to go on my list for bits for the 690 👍 but I was hoping that ktm would use the same loom on the scmr as on the duke.(money saving and all that) Therefore allowing the tft to retrofit 🤔

OEM rubbers on old mx bikes never sealed the joints in exhaust at barrel or silencer, always apply some instant gasket for good seal and dampens any vibrations. Cracking vlogs as ever, but the anticipation for the unspeakable build completion is literally the elephant in you garage........🤣🤣🤣
@@LambChopRides I saw that, schoolboy error on my part commenting before watching the full episode😂 Little tip regarding oiling filter, small bucket with a lid, poor in bottle of oil, dunk filter and squeeze gently all excess oil, let dry if tacky oil type. Then a smear of grease around rim of filter for best seal. Worked for 40+ years racing motocross, albeit road conditions shouldn’t be as dusty!

Cumpan now has a color unit with gear indicator for the newer 690/701's... given the very reasonable price this looks like a no-brainer upgrade to these bike's instrumentation. We found that they have a tendency to overheat at high altitudes/low speeds/steep terrain (heavy load), and having real temp indicators (instead of idiot lights) would be very handy for those riding conditions (more for the Enduro than SMCR obviously).
Glad you've gone for the grey colour, however I cried out when you used a wood chisel ffs! to bend back the sprocket nut tab😫. I'm a joiner you see, can you please stoppit...😁

Hm, ridden my 701 50.000 km the last two years, never had an urge for a shifting light nor i did on one of my other supermotos before. For oil temp-sensor im running on the cheap with a simple analoge one as the oil fill in screw replacement, works just fine. Interesting stuff though whats possible with relatively little money. Cheers

Dont use impact drivers on the drive shaft nut, once you damage the threads its a hell of a job to replace the shaft, costing you SO much money it isnt worth risking it. You have to split the case to change it.

I don’t know why people deal with all that installation. There are units that you can buy that plug right into the ODBII diagnostic plug. And, you can configure anything on the display that that the ODBII system monitors.
I changed the calipers on a sv a few years back no abs system but it went from 2x 2 piston to 2x 4 piston and the master cylinder had to be changed as it couldn’t match put enough pressure to the extra pistons in the calipers incase you don’t see a difference in brake power from calipers alone it will be the master
I'm upgrading my 2020 690 enduro with a power commander programmed by Rottweiler and a Cumpan cockpit assistant. Wondering if you had any issues with the Cumpan and the PC5 both piggybacked at the crank sensor wiring?

Nice video!! On the website for the Cumpan it shows it also has a gear indicator. Any particular reason why you didn’t use it? Everyone says the 2 things it needs are a tach and a gear indicator. The Cumpan would appear to solve both. Keep up the good shows!!

KTM Husqvarna dealer has no idea what is going on. I live in the United States North Carolina to be exact anything you can tell me?
Dear mr chop, does the 690/701 still have the second & third gear restriction? It is a well known hack to remove it and unlock the power. There are numerous videos of how to remove the pins, I have a 2007 supermoto, there is also an oversize injector available from gray area Racing Ktm, 500cc/min/max . Just a thought. Keep up the great work!

Hiya Chops, just to tempt you, the Nova box in my bike is a long range item. 1st is shorter, 2nd is almost exactly the same, third is slightly longer, 4th, 5th, 6th and especially 5th/6th are circa 10% longer. I used to be able to remember all the ratios as I went into it quite deeply! cant recall them at the moment though. Nova will happily chat to you, I think the lad I dealt with was Martin. With the extra power that you will have you can muck about with your final drive gearing to find just the right combination. I have mine geared quite short at the moment and its hitting the limiter at around 118mph on track😉. Geared longer, the bike will probably (untested yet) easily top 125-130, (indicated) possibly more. The box was £1800.00 for mine. True, its a luxury item, but I wanted real urge low down and the opportunity to shock the living daylights out of superbikes on twisty roads with the extra top end. I love my SMCr. Your bike is going to be epic and will probably outdo mine, but it would be great to do a side by side test one day. I’m tempted to get another newer one, but I have thrown so much loot and love at mine its hard to part with it with it
By the way - I cant remember if it was 53 or 63ftpoonds now. Either way, its clutching up in 3rd and will wheelie off the throttle in higher gears of the right sort of crests.

Keep an eye out for oil leaking from the counter sprocket seal, they have a habit of leaking if disturbed (or even if they aren't).

Luckily after doing some research both the stock and M4 caliper have 34mm pistons so that hopefully wont be a problem 👍

Hiya Chops, just to tempt you, the Nova box in my bike is a long range item. 1st is shorter, 2nd is almost exactly the same, third is slightly longer, 4th, 5th, 6th and especially 5th/6th are circa 10% longer. I used to be able to remember all the ratios as I went into it quite deeply! cant recall them at the moment though. Nova will happily chat to you, I think the lad I dealt with was Martin. With the extra power that you will have you can muck about with your final drive gearing to find just the right combination. I have mine geared quite short at the moment and its hitting the limiter at around 118mph on track😉. Geared longer, the bike will probably (untested yet) easily top 125-130, (indicated) possibly more. The box was £1800.00 for mine. True, its a luxury item, but I wanted real urge low down and the opportunity to shock the living daylights out of superbikes on twisty roads with the extra top end. I love my SMCr. Your bike is going to be epic and will probably outdo mine, but it would be great to do a side by side test one day. I’m tempted to get another newer one, but I have thrown so much loot and love at mine its hard to part with it

By the way - I cant remember if it was 53 or 63ftpoonds now. Either way, its clutching up in 3rd and will wheelie off the throttle in higher gears of the right sort of crests.

And can't decide for the life of me what to get.
I rarely have a problem with them once you are used to the bike. Riding in motocross boots does make it worse though
