It's actually what saddens me the most. After everything he went through already by losing his parents, Neji, Jiraiya I finally thought he was okay now but nope. Dude looses Kurama and his son a few weeks apart. No one else seems to lose that many people but him

Actually these are slightly different since they absorb your chakra if you get impaled.
On the other hand pains rods received chakra signal to control 6 pains .

They gave us a finale that we deserved and I’m grateful. This was absolutely a top tier Boruto episode that delivered on an animation, emotive, and visual front.

I think we can all agree that this was the best episode of Boruto so far, and I personally think this was a great episode in general and not just a great Boruto episode. The last 3 mins gave me chills and shivers throughout my body, they animated it the greatest they possibly could. Best way to end the Part 1 of the Boruto, it was an excellent ending!!

I've seen a few people say, "This isn't even ninja's anymore" I would like you to go rewatch literally any scene with Jugo in Shippuden. He can shapeshift his body in similar ways and also shoot laser beams, as he did to the Raikage. Naruto has always been ninja's with bits of dbz thrown in. That's what makes it fun.

I love that Kawaki has this really interesting parallel with Hashirama of all people. He basically says the same thing that Hashirama says to madara, about how he'll do anything to protect the thing most precious to him, even if it's family. Cool direction for his character to basically be an end point for what hashiramas world view is and how it kinda can lean into "end of Shinobi" thing that marks the timeskip we see at the start of boruto.
Kawaki is easily the best new addition to the series, no question.

Boruto is without a doubt a great anime. The pause will do him good and he will come back better than ever.
Can’t wait for the people who jump on the time skip saying they always knew Boruto was great while having actively hated everything till now.
Not gonna lie, Boruto could be so much better. Just because will have a time skip it doesn't mean that I will forget everything that happened before this last episode. Every show has their ups and downs but Boruto stayed most of the time on downs. Naruto and Sasuke nerfs and what about Kagura's death? It was stupid. They could've developed better other characters such like Metal Lee and worked on their powers without nerfing like crazy Naruto and Sasuke. But I'm optimistic about part 2. It will be great without a doubt.

This finale for the first part is absolutely astounding. The animation, choreography, pacing, symbolism of different philosophies, execution, etc. This is what Naruto as a show had that made it what it is. *It is a great finale for the first part and shows the potential of the next!*
