- Visiting downtown South Loop Chicago to take on a massive Quad City style pizza challenge at Root's Handmade Pizza! I had just one hour to finish a four course extra-cheesy challenge consisting of:
- 16" Quad City style taco pizza topped with over 2lbs of mozzarella and cheddar cheese, 1lb of taco meat, and a pile of cheesy seasoned taco chips
- 5 huge 4oz mozzarella cheese logs with marinara sauce
- 1 tub of creamy parmesan, spinach and artichoke dip with a hefty side of pita bread
- 1 slice of Fruity Pebble Cheesecake from West Town Bakery
Winners get their $60 meal for free, a groovy t-shirt, and a polaroid photo up on Root's wall of fame!

@Keks Dose I was just about to say this most big people I know don't even eat half of this. Everybody's stomach is the same size unless stretched!
She doesn’t eat like you & I, she stuffs and swallows because she’s on the clock. How do I know this? We were given 3 minutes to “eat” our chow in boot camp when I joined the Navy. You learn to stuff & swallow or you go hungry. This was 35 years ago. Don’t know how much time they’re given today. I wish her well in her culinary endeavors.

Am I the only one who would love to see an immediate post-challenge video where they're both just struggling away after consuming a huge volume of food!?
Yes!!!!! I want a video following them for the hours after the challenge. I really want to see how they deal with digesting that amount of food.
Katina has often said that they walk it off. They do thousands of steps a day before and after challenges

I would also like to hear them speak on their experience in the toilet while 💩, after these challenges.
How about their visit to the doctors where they reciieve their diabetes diagnosis 😂

Me too but I do miss her donut days or all day calorie challenges rather than the time challenges. She used to describe the food as she savoured it. I know she still describes the food but swallowing so quickly isn't as appetising.

I started off watching Randy’s channel and then started watching yours. You both are absolutely amazing and impressive in your ability to consume that much in one setting. Fun fact, when I think I need to go eat something when I’m not hungry, I watch one of your videos and suddenly, I’m not hungry anymore lol.

Me too! I love getting QC style from Frank's. Definitely a sweeter style pizza dough and can be heavy on the cheese.
Being from the Quad Cities...makes me proud knowing Chicago has a challenge named after us!!...not only malt in dough too give it sweet flavor but also crumble sausage is another QC trait..not chunk sausage. Maybe come down too Quad Cities and see some other food differences? We are also known as Lil Chicago!! Keep rockn the challenge s \m/!!!

My parents are from the Quad Cities. I have never seen a pizza there cut the same way this pizza was cut. The original taco pizza was invented by Happy Joe's (there are a few Happy Joe's locations in Wisconsin, too). The Happy Joe's Taco Joe is awesome. About a decade ago, my dad had a stem cell transplant, and before you have the actual transplant, you have to have a massive dose of chemo first. The first food that looked or smelled good to him after the transplant was a Taco Joe pizza.

This was probably your greatest winning challenge yet. Most of us would have tapped out after the cheese sticks and spinach dip but you kept going. Amazing job!
Good job on this challenge! I grew up in the Quad Cities (Rock Island, IL) and what you were missing was TACO SAUCE!! Usually the taco pizza gets served with packets of taco sauce to garnish the top of it, give it some extra flavor, and help it go down easier! Happy Joe's was the local chain that always did it the best!

Watching you complete these challenges is amazing but what’s even more amazing is when you finish off a road trip after these big challenges! Girl it would be lights out full on food coma with the AC on high and night night time for me! Lmao…maybe even right there in the restaurant I wouldn’t even be able to drive home. Great job! I will never understand how you do it but enjoy watching you win or lose. It all looked pretty darn good. Most get hungry watching you eat. I get full so thanks for the help with not eating pizza these days but that dip looked really good and it also one of my favorites. Not a big fan of cheese but here and there is great.
Just moved out of the QC after being there for 27 years love the QC style pizza. Pretty sure the guys that opened this place worked at Harris Pizza one of the Quad City originals

Wow, you poor girl! That did look to be a bit of a struggle, to get that insane Taco Pizza down! I think you're right, that was a pizza, topped with SEVERAL sides of Nacho's really! But those "Cheese Bricks" looked totally amazing. I've never seen cheese sticks that massive, or that much insane gooeyness!!! You can tell you really enjoyed those, and just for a min, your expression (after completing the pizza) did change to a bit of bliss, with the cheese cake. But I think the look on you face at the end said it all. You admitted your were hurting. But you being the awesome competitor you are ( and your love of cheese maybe ;) & your mad determination, pulled you through again. Amazing job, and I really loved that "chill" background music you had going on. That was next level for sure getting through this challenge ( with the help of Randy looking after you!) and I cant wait for the next video. Take Care Katina! :)

Quad Cities = Moline, East Moline, Rock Island, Illinois and Davenport Iowa.... I was born in East Moline, haven't been there in 20 years. We used to get pizza at Franks...it was phenomenal....Loads of cheese, cut in strips. I took my cousin when she came to visit ....40 years later we still talk about how she almost choked to death on Quad Cities pizza while I wasn't paying attention!

Just discovered your channel today. I love it. I'm born and raised in the Quad Cities and honestly I didn't know the pizza I'd eaten ally life was unique to the area until a couple years ago. QC style pizza is normally the malty crust and the toppings are under the cheese.

I grew up in Moline part of the Quad cities and the taco pizza at Happy Joe's was my absolute favorite and then they also had a Canadian bacon and Sauer kraute it is also the best 9

Again...WOW don't know how you do it but IMPRESSIVE. 2 of those mozz stix would've stuffed me! I also LOVE spinach dip...the absolute BEST I've ever had is at Finleys Irish pub in Largo FL. They give you the baked/fried pita chips too. They have amazing food & may have a challenge of some kind! I find it great the dessert motivates you...I love my desserts & anything fruity pebble I am all about!! Good luck on the next one!

I grew up in the quad cities, my favorite qc style pizza places are spinners and pizza joynt, both in Milan just outside moline, Harris and st Giuseppe’s are also very good. Qc style pizza is criminally underrated and rarely talked about outside of the area, ( probably because the quad cities are an otherwise pretty boring place to live) but our pizza is probably the best thing we have here.

The Olive Garden‘s original spinach and artichoke dip was absolutely amazing and we would order two helpings of it as a family to share an appetizer they recently change the recipe and it is not the same!!
