    Thank you for showing how it's done. May your pipe be full, your Matches dry and your cigars sweet.

    Excellent, glad to see someone who isn't afraid to modify their pipes. you will probably have some purists that will say you are destroying the way the pipe was aerodynamically engineered but, I have not regretted modifying mine.

    Great job Mel, I was puckered the whole time you were drilling that Lucite stem man!! LOL ... I'm sure Matches would cry if he saw you doing that to a Savinelli! Hahaa. I only have one 9mill pipe. I'm afraid to get more cause I already have issues trying to find the filters I like. I bought a 15 box pack of the 6mill filters for my Dr. Grabows and Medico pipes I have. It sucks that no rite aid around me sells any pipe stuff anymore. So even when I want regular Dr Grabow filters I have to get them online!!

    I have been gravitating to my 9mm pipes lately. This video is simultaneously inspirational and terrifying. Hopefully, Canerod has his shop up and running to fix my inevitable and foreseeable errors.
    Godspeed!

    Glad your trying it Mel it really is not hard just a little unnerving because you do not want to ruin a good pipe but it’s really pretty easy. Taken it slow

    • @garbagemanpiper
      @garbagemanpiper  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya the ones that are left are Punto Oro Golds so I am debating on selling them and just replace them with 9mm. We’ll see🥴🍭🐓👶

    Shoot Mel, I am about to destroy some pipes. I tried that before I saw this, and wrecked one. I wish it was just easy to buy the 9mm inserts for Savinelli because the glue bond breaks easy with acetone. Like you I switched, and now don't want to go back. I want to convert some other pipes to 9mm. You can get metal fittings at Home Depot. Fortunately, I have a lot of repair pipes to have fun with and do the conversion. I really don't want to smoke anything other than a 9mm.

    • @garbagemanpiper
      @garbagemanpiper  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortionatley I have sacrificed a few pipes in the learning curve. I am trying to find the 9mm insert myself. Art form Arties place knows were to get them I just haven’t reached out yet. He just posted one on reaming them out so I bought reamers much easier! Thanks for reaching out.

    • @artiesplace8608
      @artiesplace8608 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mel for what it’s worth I never ruined one yet just take it slow it works great

    • @artiesplace8608
      @artiesplace8608 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      A easier solution is get a set of reamers and work you way towards the size drill bits are ok but the grab where reams do not many times you have to ream the the bowl side a little for the filter because as the pipe heats up it expands a little and the filter gets stuck

    Mel, can any 6mm be converted to 9mm? Going to invest in those dreamers that Arte mentioned.

    • @garbagemanpiper
      @garbagemanpiper  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scott the Savinelli 6mm. All your doing is reaming out the insert Savi glued in before shipping the pipes to the states. I can say all pipes pranks can be. Savis can. I have done close to twenty. Just have to have patience and a steady hand or you have botch the steam.
