In case you didn't know, Soyeon indirectly admitted on live TV that she fell in love with Yuqi when they first met. She wrote a song in 2018 called 'Give Me Your' and said at first she dedicated the song to Yuqi. Then, in 2021, an interviewer asked her why she wrote that song, and she said she had fallen in love with someone at the time.

For anyone who doesn't know, (G)I-DLE in korean is (여자)아이들, where the brackets means girl/woman and the non brackets is the phonetic representation of idle, also coincidentally the word for children, with 아이 meaning child and 들 being a particle signifying a multitude of the given noun.

Oh My God is a representation of the way many people view homosexuality in Korea. The lyrics talk about how a girl could be condemning her soul for loving another girl, this from the teachings and ideas of the Koreans, but she does not care, she cannot help it and she will not let them make her feel bad about it. In the English version, which is a press translation made by the same Soyeon, you can see the entire narrative of this story.

Soojin: The main demon in the song. Also, in the video Soojin holds a white apple, that symbolizes the Adam’s apple as a temptation. She tries to tempt everyonein in darkness using lust. Lust is also one of Dante's nine circles of hell, where there are strong winds. In the video, there are red objects that are floating around her, and might have blown by the strong winds aroung Soojin. And she was in love with Shuhua, who is a pure deity.
Minnie: Represents self-murder. She was slowly corrupted by darkness. Then she was dragged into the white room, which is the purgatory, where Soyeon was also situated. She tries to fight darkness to overcome her, that’s why her nose bleed. Until she cant take it anymore and kills herself, as you can see in her part in the second chorus where she shots herself with a gun. And according to Dante's 9 circle of hell, in circle 7, which is violence, their punishment is drowning theirselves in blood, which is also the first and last part of the MV where Minnie was poured and coated with blood.
Soyeon: Represents fraud. She accepted her fate of being dark, because of Soojin. She was inlove with Soojin, but Soojin loves Shuhua. After Shuhua's bridge, where Soojin was whispering to Shuhua, then Shuhua suddenly changed into Soyeon. Where Soyeon pretends to be Shuhua. And also in Shuhua's part, she was on the same setting with Soyeon, in the barbed wires, shows that Shuhua in the barbed wires was actually Soyeon. According to Dante's 9 circle of hell, in circle 8, which is fraud, their punishment was being poured with excrement (human / animal wastes), which is also the last chorus where Soyeon was in a pool of a mud-like substance.
Soyeon rap verse “ Oh god how can you put in this temptation is it a call from hell?”
Yuqi: a disciple of Shuhua and Miyeon. She was a loyal disciple of the two, but then she was attracted to Soojin. She peeks into Soojin and turned herself into confusion. There is also a cup of wine, it connotes purity. Accoring to the Biblical reference , drinking a cup of wine can link you to a holy figure, and it was Miyeon, but it was too late. In Yuqi's second verse, her tears became blood, which means that she had committed sin. When Miyeon knew about it, she banished Yuqi, where she falls, leading to the end of her life, maybe?
Thats why here lines where “ I fall head over heels for you and let you toy with my heart”
Miyeon: Deity of pureness. She knows all, and she is above everyone. She punishes everyone that committed sin. Miyeon is in tears, because of despair that she cannot prevent everyone from darkness.
Shuhua: Another deity of pureness. She was in love with Soojin, which is a demon. Despite their differences she still deeply inlove with her, so as Soojin. There is also a part where Soojin whispered "Ab Imo Pectore" in Shuhua's ear, which means "From the bottom of my heart" or sincere love. That's why Soyeon was envious on her.
The English translation was made from their translator, and wasn't interpreted by Soyeon.
There is an English version of "Oh my god" that doesn't leave much doubt as to what it's about.

The girl you liked in Oh my god and kept calling hot is Soyeon. She is the main rapper, the leader and THE main producer and songwriter of the group, so she wrote all these powerful feminist songs. AND she is the one responsible for their concepts, she's actually doing A LOT. Yeah, she's very cool.

Indeed. And it's kind of weird to hear them drop the f-bomb when you're used to the m/v and live performances, lol. I assume they censored the YT version because they have a lot of younger fans and want to keep their "official" image family-friendly (relatively speaking).
nxde is about not wanting what people want you to be and being your "nxde" raw self. soyeon utilised stories from Marilyn Monroe, Loralai and more to convey that message and the idea is people expect the song to be segsual since its called nxde but theres no nudity of any sort and its completely pg13. and the message in the end is "i was born nxde. YOU are the pervert. the song title itself helped clear a lot of perverted research on media cause when you type "n u de idle" in korean children ndes used to pop up since idle translates to children in korean. nxde was the number 1 streamed song in all streaming platforms in korea upon release despite sk being an extremely conservative anti feminist country.

another interesting thing to me about 'queencard' is the meaning of the title in korean. '퀸카‘ is a term used to describe a girl who is regarded as extremely beautiful, stylish, and popular. A 퀸카 is a girl that everyone wants to be like, the closest word in english that has a similar meaning to 퀸카 is an 'it girl'.
so basically, 'queencard' is saying that it doesn't matter who you are or what you like, all women are 퀸카!!
LOVE this reaction! I'm writing this after you went through the Oh My God MV and I just wanna tell you that Soyeon actually said in an interview that the 'she' in the chorus is open for interpretation. For the fandom it's the closest Soyeon could say that she allows listeners to interpret 'she' as a lover. In the english version of Oh My God Soyeon's rap verse ends with "You may be poison, but sure as hell taste like honey" so I think we already know what that means.
And in one of their behind the scenes for this MV, Soojin (the blonde one in the Oh My God MV) said her role was "seducing the girls." It really is the lesbian anthem.
I think with G-(idle) you really need to read the lyrics coz i was so ready for you to gag while watching nude "We're born nude, the pervert is you" that line went crazy, i think overall the messaging of nude was super important and i would love to have seen you react to that coz i remember how in love i was because of that line

Since you mentioned you liked the rock aspect I have to recommend another girl group - Dreamcatcher. Their discography is gender neutral and their title tracks all contain rock or metal elements. Their B-sides run the gamut though and they can literally do any genre.
Most of their tracks are part of series so if you want to start with more recent tracks then I would recommend Maison, Vision and Bon Voyage which deal with the environmental damage we're doing.

They supposedly changed the title to "Nxde" with the "x" to prevent inapproptiate images from popping up in search results. They do have a lot of younger fans amd idols in general tend to maintain a (relatively) family-friendly image.
I ALSO cried listening to and watching these for the first time. Their music is so powerful. OMG didn't feel like a generic love song, it felt passionate and life-changing. And that's why I loved it so much.

As has been mentioned several times, if your after representation, Shutdown by Moonbuyl, featuring Seori. The most explicitly gay song in Kpop that I am aware of. The meaning of the MV is Moonbuyl is at home, Seori is there in the MV, but only in Moonbuyls imagination, she is not there in reality. Moonbuyl is thinking about the night they will spend together later, and is singing about that, quite explicitly (or as explicitly as she can be in KPop).

Minnie: Main Vocalist, and Thai member- she is the most dreamy member in the group, she is also known to have the bangs. In Queencard she was the one that started the song, in Oh My God she was the one that started and ended the song, etc. She is also known to be pretty chaotic but very cute with an adorable voice!
Soojin (Ex Member, hatred CUBE): Main Dancer, Vocalist, and Rapper- she is known to be the sexiest member in the group. In Oh My God she was the blonde. She is also known to be the shyest member and the only one with a braincell (not really), she also is known to be a Tsundere especially to Shuhua but everyone knows how much she loves her!
Soyeon: Leader, Main Rapper, Vocalist, and Center- she is known to be the most charismatic member with insane rapping skills. In Oh My God she was the one that you said you liked with the short hair, in TOMBOY she was the one that picked up the sucker, etc. She is known to be kind of intimidating but overall she is just a cutie she also produces 99% of (G) I-DLE's music!
Yuqi: Main Dancer, Vocalist, Rapper and Chinese Member- she is known to be the cutest member in the group with a very deep voice. In TOMBOY she was the one with the pinkish hair, in Queencard she was the one that you said "Holy ****" to that was in the bikini (that clip lives in my head rent free), etc. She is known to be unfiltered and chaotic but she is Adorable while doing it!
Shuhua: Vocalist, Visual, Maknae and Taiwanese member- she is known to be the most chic member of the group who is very underrated. In Nxde she is the one in the emerald green dress, in Oh My God she was the one on the bridge with the white dress. She is a savage who LOVES Soojin (seriously stay away from her Soojin or there will be consequences)!

Also Dreamcatcher. Or if you want to do a solo artist Sunmi (who’s Gashina was considered something of a Lesbian anthem a well). Really, I’ve never been steered wrong with girl groups or female soloists in Kpop. 💜

I would like to recommend you MAMAMOO if you're in this journey. They're the best vocals in kpop but also always spreading the message of being confident and be yourself. There is a lot of speculation on the meaning of Oh my God but everyone kind of came to the agreement that it was a "lesbian" anthem. If you listen and look at the lyrics they are referring to a she throughout the whole song. The MV is said to add depths since especially in Korea Homosexual relations of any kind aren't easily acknowledged or accepted. The MV shows 2 major perspectives, I'd say, one being Yuqi and the Other being Minnie. Yuqi is the one who started us off and kind of represented "denial" which ended up with "death" scene I would call it. Minnie is the one at the end who was in the room that reminded me of FKA Twigs' Cellophane; she represented (to me) "rebirth or acceptance".
