I came across your setup videos after having tried various others by soms of the well know EA WRC TH-camrs and I must says I prefer your setup advice. They just suit my driving style so much better. Now I'm taking the base tweaks to transfer to my preferred RWD cars and I immediately feel the difference. Thanks for your amazing videos and for all the time you put into it so that ppl like me can also enjoy the game to the fullest without having to spend countless hours fiddling with every setting 😄😃 Keep up the fantastic work! 👌👍👍
I'm very happy that you finally found the videos you were looking for. The fact that you can take my explanations and tune other car classes with them says a lot, keep racing!
After some minor adjustments to suit not having fully tunable stuff yet, using a controller, and my driving style, works like a charm. Excellent base tune.
Hiya NoxNova. I’ve watched most all of your EA WRC videos and am so glad 😅 found them. Sorry for the long post but…I’ve always enjoyed driving games and had played a few Forza’s etc in the past but mostly just played Horizon titles as I wasn’t very adept with a controller. I’ve also loved Rally since the Group B days..yes I’m an oldie. Anyway I saw Dirt 2.0 on sale 20ish Aug. struggled hard. Picked up WRC 10 and it was better with the training and career but there were some bugs I had a hard time with and I still struggled. A bad Monte Carlo Rally nearly broke me. I got EA-WRC the 26th really liked but dreaded tarmac so much. It was along in here I found your channel. It helped a lot but I knew part of it was also the thumbs and triggers giving me dreadful inconsistency. Honestly I was awful and that was with a lot of assist. Long long story semi-short I picked up a DD Wheel and pedals a few days later and after a steep and painful learning curve… like Parnassós or the Bauxites in a badly tuned RWD. With your videos being a huge help I’ve got a bit better it’s 5 September now and I just ran Vrbno in the wet just now, for the first time, with your tune and came in 81st amongst the no assist. 153 overall. It’s a tiny leader board that’s solidly middle of the pack at best. But the most important thing is it was so fun and I know I can do better. I mean hell it’s hardly been 15 days since I started after decades of being awful. Anyway thank you so much I wouldn’t being enjoying myself half as much without all I’ve learned from you.
Thank you so much! I'm very happy to hear this and proud of you and your performance. This is one of the feedback types I'm looking for, people telling stories of their learning curve based on what they've learned from my knowledge. Consistency is key, so keep on training and you'll start to see better results from day to day!
@@noxnovaYT thank you for your reply. Also on the subject of consistency. I often like to run at least a time trial or two of stages before I start a major rally in career mode. For difficult challenges I set up mirror Rally’s in quick play so I can learn more about the effects of weather and tire choice and degradation. I find this very helpful since I don’t have much experience and it lets me feel more confident. After some practice when I go back into career and hit the same time I’ve set in practice it gives me that little dopamine hit like when you finish fueling your car on a perfect round number.
@@TripperJonMD I do exactly the same thing, a few runs on time trial to get a glimpse on the handling and then I hit the events on the clubs. From there I let the weather conditions and the track degradation surprise me. 😂
Question! Why would you want higher differential lock on asphalt tracks? Would there not be a lot more grip and it would not matter as much that they are locked? Like, since all your tires have high grip, it doesn’t matter that the wheels rotate at different rates, wherever the power goes there will be grip?
Very good question! 💯 Yes on a straight line this is true. But when cornering, the car and everything inside it experience centrifugal forces (the one that makes you lean to the outside of the corner). So this means that the car's center if mass shifts to the outside, putting more weight on the outside wheels, this makes the inside wheels lose traction. In tight corners, the rear inside wheel can even lift off the ground, producing 0 grip so with an open diff, all the torque will go to this wheel, while the outside one, which has even more grip because of the weight that it bears, will have 0 power and you will oversteer a lot. How do you make these thumbnails? I have a Sim racing channel and it would be very helpfull if you told me how to do them. Ps. The video was amazing and is extreamly usefull for those who are trying to get into setups
@@noxnovaYT Hahahha. better than me though i have to make them on my phone with canva💀. (and the fotos of the car, in the thumbnail, you screenshot while you play in free cam mode or find online?)
