For an not-so-obvious summer scent, I like Vanilla Vibes from Juliette Has A Gun. Most of my other vanillas are too sweet and thick for high heat. Vanilla Vibes is more airy and less overwhelming.
I have about a quarter bottle of vintage White Linen left. I keep it for special occasion and yes a little goes a long way especially in the Caribbean where I reside.
When my Valaya (ordered the minute PDM had it on their website) arrived it was a HUGE disappointment and I just left it there next to the other PDM bottles. Weeks later, I tried it again and it is a whole other fragrance, it is gorgeous, lasts forever and now it is loved and used a lot. My summer fragrance this year is Paragon by Initio, it is so grounding and beautiful.

I had the same experience with Valaya. I found it weird when I ordered a decant (it's got some unusual notes). But by the third or fourth wearing, a switch flipped. Now it's in the top 5 in my collection. Will definitely buy a full bottle.

I’ve had positive shopping experiences from FragranceNet, FragranceX, Jomashop, MaxAroma, to name a few! I purchased Delina La Rosée from Jomashop at a really good price. I might be one of the few that didn’t like Delina at all, but La Rosée is beautiful, and the bottle? Gorgeous! 😊

I am from and live in the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia. And do have a recent love that fits into this category - Ricina by V Canto. It is a strange one - aquatic, citrusy, clean peony. It does wonders in high heat. The only gripe I have with it, is the bottle. As with all V Canto bottles, this one is covered in crushed velvet that collects all the lint, dog glitter, and dust from the house like magnet. 😂

I’ve been wearing that a lot and Chanel Fraiche. Do you remember Lancôme had a perfume in a green tall bottle, forgot the name but I get the feeling that it’s similar to Lotus. It had that lemon grassy citrusy feel. It totally discontinued.

I live in Atlanta so its hot and humid mostbdays with intermittent rainy cooler days. For the really hot days, I love musks like Another 13, Erba Pura, Musk Therapy, Delina La Rosee or Blue Heart. For the rainy, dreary days I gravitate towards tea scents like Hermes L'Ombre Des Merveilles or light lactonic scents like Im a Musk, Blanche Bête, or Prada Infusion d'Amande.
I currently live in Dubai. Temperatures are now above 40°C and it is impossible to be outside. I am enjoying my perfumes in air-conditioned space. In rotation: EA White Tea, Un jardin sur le Nil, Jour d'Hermes and Kelly Caleche edp.
I really appreciate that you raise possible issues or notes that may disturb the wearer. For example, musks makes me VERY dizzy so I don't even bother getting samples of anything with a musk note in it, unless I can confirm that the musk is super light. Un Jardin Sur Le Nil has been recommended so many times by other reviewers and none of them even mentioned that it's musky! I so very nearly bought a used bottle from someone else, geez

I finally got to sample Pear Inc and immediately fell in love with it… as I wore it the first time though, I got scared that the Pear was too sweet and fruity… i know, Paola, saying something is too sweet?! 😂 it could have been the musk or ambroxan that almost made my stomach turn like Butberry Her did.. good thing I wore it again the next day and it was immediately added to my wishlist.. 😊 and 2 more from the house 😂

My favorite warm weather fragrances this summer are: Floral Street Arizona Bloom, Kayali Yum Pistachio, Ormonde Jayne Sakura and if I'm craving something sweet I go for Miraj Caramel. Miraj is a Romanian niche house and Caramel has great projection, amazing lasting power, but it never gets too cloying. I have no idea how this is possible 😂😂
Hi Veronica! I’m in Phoenix, Arizona, so (in normal years) it’s relatively warm most of the year, and VERY hot in summer. (Forecasts are for 115F this weekend.) I’m still new to the fragrance obsession and still figuring things out, but this summer I’m enjoying Nishane Wulong Cha, Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarin Basilic, and Silky Woods by Goldfield & Banks (especially for evenings). Honorable mention goes to a scent that may be a year-rounder for me, I-Ristretto by Maison Tahité. I also love Jardins de Misfah by Une Nuit Nomade, but it doesn’t hold up great in our punishing heat, so another one that’s more for evenings or the rare cooler day.

@@VeronicaSays What I get from Shelter Island is a very realistic marine/mineral/aromatic woods scent. I'd put it right up there with Lubin's Brittany Breeze, where you can picture yourself standing on a rocky outcrop overlooking the coast with the salt spray spumes foaming up. There is nothing beachy or suntan-lotiony about Shelter Island. (It evidently doesn't have any beaches. It's not a hotspot for summer tourists.) I think you can get a sense of the complexity from its notes: top notes are Lemon and Black Pepper; middle notes are Seaweed and White Lily; base notes are Agarwood (Oud), Musk, Sandalwood, Amber and Myrhh. On Fragrantica, there was a comment by someone who had spent summers there as a child. It caught the essence of the island, according to them. There was a similar comment on Fragrantica from someone who lived in Gramercy Park. And I have been in the park as well. The scent fits perfectly with the experience. You get an overall impression of greenness providing shade and seclusion. There's a coolness that has a calming effect. From Bond "Top notes: green notes, leaves. Heart: lily of the valley, cyclamen and English ivy. Base: woody notes and crystal musk."

For an not-so-obvious summer scent, I like Vanilla Vibes from Juliette Has A Gun. Most of my other vanillas are too sweet and thick for high heat. Vanilla Vibes is more airy and less overwhelming.

When my Valaya (ordered the minute PDM had it on their website) arrived it was a HUGE disappointment and I just left it there next to the other PDM bottles. Weeks later, I tried it again and it is a whole other fragrance, it is gorgeous, lasts forever and now it is loved and used a lot. My summer fragrance this year is Paragon by Initio, it is so grounding and beautiful.

I had the same experience with Valaya. I found it weird when I ordered a decant (it's got some unusual notes). But by the third or fourth wearing, a switch flipped. Now it's in the top 5 in my collection. Will definitely buy a full bottle.

I am from and live in the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia. And do have a recent love that fits into this category - Ricina by V Canto. It is a strange one - aquatic, citrusy, clean peony. It does wonders in high heat. The only gripe I have with it, is the bottle. As with all V Canto bottles, this one is covered in crushed velvet that collects all the lint, dog glitter, and dust from the house like magnet. 😂

I’ve been wearing that a lot and Chanel Fraiche. Do you remember Lancôme had a perfume in a green tall bottle, forgot the name but I get the feeling that it’s similar to Lotus. It had that lemon grassy citrusy feel. It totally discontinued.

I live in Atlanta so its hot and humid mostbdays with intermittent rainy cooler days. For the really hot days, I love musks like Another 13, Erba Pura, Musk Therapy, Delina La Rosee or Blue Heart. For the rainy, dreary days I gravitate towards tea scents like Hermes L'Ombre Des Merveilles or light lactonic scents like Im a Musk, Blanche Bête, or Prada Infusion d'Amande.

I really appreciate that you raise possible issues or notes that may disturb the wearer. For example, musks makes me VERY dizzy so I don't even bother getting samples of anything with a musk note in it, unless I can confirm that the musk is super light. Un Jardin Sur Le Nil has been recommended so many times by other reviewers and none of them even mentioned that it's musky! I so very nearly bought a used bottle from someone else, geez

Verónica, yes, very enjoyable. Took note of Orange Bergamot from Molton B., and Chemise Blanche. Dua is coming out with a Citrus Musk (original; sample received with purchase). It is a beauty. 20 minutes into the wear, i Received a compliment. I also enjoy Montblanc in the milk white glass bottle, as a summer fresh with elegance (the one that some compare to Guidance), Lineage, Sintra!!!!

I finally got to sample Pear Inc and immediately fell in love with it… as I wore it the first time though, I got scared that the Pear was too sweet and fruity… i know, Paola, saying something is too sweet?! 😂 it could have been the musk or ambroxan that almost made my stomach turn like Butberry Her did.. good thing I wore it again the next day and it was immediately added to my wishlist.. 😊 and 2 more from the house 😂

Miraj is a Romanian niche house and Caramel has great projection, amazing lasting power, but it never gets too cloying. I have no idea how this is possible 😂😂

Hi Veronica! I’m in Phoenix, Arizona, so (in normal years) it’s relatively warm most of the year, and VERY hot in summer. (Forecasts are for 115F this weekend.) I’m still new to the fragrance obsession and still figuring things out, but this summer I’m enjoying Nishane Wulong Cha, Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarin Basilic, and Silky Woods by Goldfield & Banks (especially for evenings). Honorable mention goes to a scent that may be a year-rounder for me, I-Ristretto by Maison Tahité. I also love Jardins de Misfah by Une Nuit Nomade, but it doesn’t hold up great in our punishing heat, so another one that’s more for evenings or the rare cooler day.

@@VeronicaSays What I get from Shelter Island is a very realistic marine/mineral/aromatic woods scent. I'd put it right up there with Lubin's Brittany Breeze, where you can picture yourself standing on a rocky outcrop overlooking the coast with the salt spray spumes foaming up. There is nothing beachy or suntan-lotiony about Shelter Island. (It evidently doesn't have any beaches. It's not a hotspot for summer tourists.) I think you can get a sense of the complexity from its notes: top notes are Lemon and Black Pepper; middle notes are Seaweed and White Lily; base notes are Agarwood (Oud), Musk, Sandalwood, Amber and Myrhh. On Fragrantica, there was a comment by someone who had spent summers there as a child. It caught the essence of the island, according to them.
There was a similar comment on Fragrantica from someone who lived in Gramercy Park. And I have been in the park as well. The scent fits perfectly with the experience. You get an overall impression of greenness providing shade and seclusion. There's a coolness that has a calming effect. From Bond "Top notes: green notes, leaves. Heart: lily of the valley, cyclamen and English ivy. Base: woody notes and crystal musk."

You know how I feel about Musk Therapy, year round player for me but top contender for sure in the high heat. Greenwich Village and Soleil Neige👏🏾🤗🤤🥰 just beautiful!! L’eau D’Issey is a retired fragrance for me but it was definitely a sexy scent that brought in so many compliments back in the day and even when I smell it now it raises a brow in utter satisfaction!!🥰
