I'm divorcing my evil narcissistic wife who is horrible. She left and now I got all four kids. The older three want absolutely nothing to do with her and refuse to see her at all. Our youngest, age 9, wants a relationship, which I encourage. But, I'm just waiting for her to mature and realize how horrible my wife is. I don't see a way forward in this relationship. Please stop assuming the abusive and controlling party is always the husband. I did my darndest to be a great husband and father. 20 years of marriage and she doesn't even speak to me nor even tries. When I say something, she blasts me. So, I'm done with her, and yes, I'm in a belief crisis for my faith.
The Bible tells us to be WISE and make his heart rejoice. It is NEVER WISE to stay in any type of ABUSIVE Marriage. That is going AGAINST the Bible. STRESS kills and I know God is not telling us to let someone KILL you. Also, the Bible says "What God has put together let no one seperate". God would NEVER put you together with a ABUSIVE Partner. So if God didn't put your Relationship together, you are FREE to go.
There are many instances in the Bible of abusive husband and wife senarios. Take a look all through the OT. We are not puppets to God. He does not make our every decision. We can choose who we marry and that choice is not always wise or what God wants for us. We are not always good at hearing him when we are 'in love' or charmed or manipulated or have money put in front of us. There are many reasons why we may marry the wrong or abusive person or why we are blinded to the red flags or even outright obvious sins. We and those we marry can also change and circumstances develop where someone becomes abusive. All of this points to a continuing relationship of hearing from God on a daily basis. Our relationship with Him is not static, our lives are not static, our choices are not static, our situations are not static.
Thank you for the enlightenment. You are describing exactly how my husband treats me 😢
