Julia lingering at Collinwood has passed well beyond suspension of disbelief by now. While she’s essential to the story at this point, the writers have ceased to even try to motivate her being there on the most basic level. They don’t even have her mentioning her "historical" research anymore, or anyone asking about it. And what happened to her being the director of a mental institution up by the Canadian border called Windcliff? Yes I know, we’re supposed to have forgotten about all that by now, but I just wish the writing wasn’t so sloppy and inconsistent in that way. :P
People are in and out of that room like Grand Central Station, yet people have the most private conversations there-and of course others either walk in or stand outside listening!
Julia comes across as a bitter, jealous, hag in these episodes where she is hypnotising Vicky to be afraid of Barnabas....I know she is deeply in love with him but she isn't doing this to protect Vicky at all, she is doing this because she wants Barnabas to love/want her instead of Vicky. In previous episodes Julia even suggested Barnabas 'use' Vicky to make himself younger again....she showed no concern for Vicky's wefare at all.
What does Carolyn do? High school graduate? No career opportunities? No desire for college? Her character was pretty flat until Barnabas vamped her in the neck.
They Are writting Carolyn much more competently for a couples of weeks Not since She got involved in the David story.. She figured out the Big stuff and now She is working quiet intelligent for Barnabas.. This would’ve been such a great way of getting rid of the Julia Character tbh
So they Are indeed writting off David :( At first Willie, The Doc, Maggie is barely seen and now David? Nearly all my favorites Are gone and i am stuck with the never moving forward story of Julia/Barnabas/Victora.. At least we get to see More of Carolyn
Have you never seen the full series? When Vicky is ‘transported’ back to 1795, every single cast member is there (I don’t recall David) and they play the roles of Barnabas’ family back then. It shows how all of this started-very interesting.
