Greetings from Austria! Home of the St Florian Boys Choir formed in 1071 ( oldest boys choir?) who will be singing a Bruckner Mass on 4 th May St Florian‘s day for Bruckner 200. The village band will be along the road shortly and people will be gathering to climb the May Pole, an activity I think the Magdeline boys and girls would enjoy. All the best for a great day. 😊
Grüß Gott @maxinegonzalez1215 I wish you all a wonderful May 1. down there in St Florian. Your choir is outstanding, and one of the best in Austria. I loved this year's New Year's concert, and the interval film with choristers, Laurenz Oberfichtner and Frederick Derwein, taking us on that journey to discover more about the composer and former Abbey chorister Anton Bruckner. Best regards to you all.
This is a glorious start to the day, to May, and to summer! Thank you to all singers, your outstanding choirmaster, and the crew for sharing your wonderful gifts. Greetings from Chicago (USA).
Superb singing. How can we encourage children to sing such beautiful music. It would be lovely to hear this choir singing on Swindon Town Gardens 'Bowl' or a smaller choir from Maugdeln in the Town Gardens Band Stand
Aaahhh ....Sigh🥹🥹🥹 The beautiful spirit of England as I remembered it 🤩🤩🤩 Thank you with poignant memories and a full heart ❤️🔥😪God save Britain from her enemies and grant her Victory 👊⚡️✝️🛐 is my prayer for this Marian Month of May 💙🩵💙💫💫💫
MM 2023 found me hospitalized recovering from a serious case of food poisoning, but I didn't miss it on my phone. I'm grateful that I can enjoy the music in good health this year! And I'll be visiting Oxford this summer!
I think this is an innovation - also the song to the tune "Barbara Allen" and the last one. No Silver Swan? That was my favourite. "more geese than swans do live, more fools than wise"
@pingleresearch Have you come across the performance of that piece by "The Gesualdo Six" on their TH-cam channel? Originally recorded for "Classic FM" in the UK. Worth searching for!
@@nickdouglass421 Thanks! I found it on TH-cam. Beautiful! It's a lovely song, but it's hard to place because although it's considered a madrigal, it is sad, but also has a message that could be called ironic.
@pingleresearch Glad you found it! I believe it was considered as a satirical piece on the state of the political scene at the time! Thus a musical metaphor as such.
Te Deum Patrem colimus, Te laudibus prosequimur, qui corpus cibo reficis, coelesti mentem gratia. Te adoramus, O Jesu, Te, Fili unigenite, Te, qui non dedignatus es subire claustra Virginis. Actus in crucem, factus es irato Deo victima per te, Salvator unice vitae spes nobis rediit. Tibi, aeterne Spiritus cuius afflatu peperit infantem Deum Maria, aeternum benedicimus. Triune Deus, hominum salutis auctor optime, immensum hoc mysterium ovante lingua canimus.
The best morning of the year in Oxford! I lived in and near Oxford for 26 years, and got up for the May singing many times. Something I miss.
Apt way to welcome the Marian month of May, sublime singing and wise words, thanks to all involved for your time and talent.God bless
Beautiful phrasing, diction and dynamics. We bless thee Lord for thy creation.
Beautiful -In these difficult times, we Mustn't lose sight of the simpler things in life
Thank you for sharing this morning. Floreat Magdalena.

@@nickdouglass421 This term "wokery" gets thrown around a lot lately. Not sure what you are referring to here.
Wonderful. A positive item of news and as such, will get virtually zero coverage.

Thank you for your kind comment I will pass it on to the choir.
Классно поют, плюс учитывайте, что это еще и ранним утром, когда поют разве только птички😅 Кароче, качественное исполнение)
One of the highlights of Spring every year
Early start for boys but a privilege worth the sacrifice of sleep.
Thank you!
Love it!
