I agree this is terrible and another blow to small businesses. It's always best to own the building your business is in. Is there any empty commercial buildings for sale they can buy and move to? The owner cited eminent domain but MCHD said there wasn't one, then proceeded to say they are building on that location. Sounds like the property owner sold the location willfully then tried to act as though it was out of their hands.

And you know, now that the tenants have over 30 years of business history to use as future collateral I'm sure someone will step up and offer them a great location at a great price. That is the human thing to do you know. Each business owner needs to come together, establish an LLC and move forward. And do it quickly. That would protect their personal assets.
What is really bad is that this jerk didn't give any fair notice. Just 30 days and your out. I'm sure he had been talking to MCHD for quite a while. They knew his low ball price to sell out his fellow man. I'm sure it wasn't much for MCHD. Just a tax write off in their business plan. They make me sick.

And you love buying their products. What's the problem? That is capitalism, right?

Whether you like it or not, the owner has the right to do as they wish with their property. If you are only a tenant, it doesn't matter if you stayed there for 100 years, you don't have much choice. What is the issue here?

Words of an oppressor for sure. May your livelihood be like theirs here soon. And it will, every one will have their day, that is a PROMISE from GOD. Maybe the indigenous here should say the same thing to you.
