- My friend @RexH invited us out off-roading with his TUFFRIG GQ Patrol, so of course we said YES! We take our budget Landcruiser 120 Prado Grande off-roading for the first time. It was SO FUN! Enjoy.

How do you remove the centre diff lock on the lc 120?
As someone who just bought my first 4wd and it's a 2003 prado grande I was super happy to see what this car can do. I'm loving what you've done to yours.
Did you replace or modify the rear airbag suspension at all?
@@ericneuman9202 I've only had it 2 weeks. Only replaced the head unit. I'm not wanting to spend a lot of money on it.

@@tightteke7780 mine is (1GRFE 4.0L V6) 298000km and it drives like brand new. My friends has one too, his Prado done 963000km and no problem at all, only changing the oil thats it
I've got a 2005 prado 4.0 v6 and there's nothing it can't do! It's an Absolutely amazing beast 🔥
Got to love the 120 prado
They are great out in the bush
Only hint I'll say now is make sure you clean the alternator properly after mud runs I have just had to replace mine 2nd time

Pretty good to watch. It was funny & I enjoyed watching people off-road for the first time. For improved traction & a smoother ride on rough tracks next time, drop your tyre pressures to 18-20psi to spread the footprint right out.
As someone that does 4wding and camping this makes me so happy that you get that same high as you would drifting, Australia has so much to offer this just show. Uppa mike.

Love it mike, a lot of us were fortunate to get introduced to the 4x4 scene by experienced wheelers. Nothing better to see the lads out having fun and learning together, yeeeew!

So tip #1 thumbs outside the steering wheel, tip #2 drop tyre pressures 16 psi should do you, then a pump tp pump them back up, and a shovel, all you need.

@@itsmikelake We have the same model our is an 05, with brand new engine, same km, it no longer looks standard, 4" in the rear 2" in the front, winch, rock sliders, roof rack with shovel, high lift jack, a 45 L bush shower, sand boards, we even built our own ladder, fridge and drawers in the rear, the Prado is a weapon, as you are finding out, enjoy your vids keep them coming, top stuff.
LC 120 Prado is awesome off road. Mine goes everywhere the Land Rovers over here in England go and then some. Keep having fun 👍
So cool to experience your first time off road. I remember having the exact same emotions and excitement as you my first time. I still feel the same 18 years on. Nothing beats loading the bbq in the back of the car and heading bush for some down time. I would recommend getting some better footwear for next time though 🤣

Cheers Joseph! I’ve enjoyed the process also. The head unit has been great, I’d advise getting the higher spec cpu for speed. The startup time for my headunit is about 20 seconds but I don’t mind it

Cheers Chris! So far so good. Only annoyance is the volume buttons etc don’t light up at night. Although I don’t have the headlight wire hooked up to the headunit so perhaps they do when that’s hooked up?

Next mods: front & rear diff lockers & a winch.
Next mod for the GU: New tyres!
And some new suspension to level it back out and stop the scrubbing 😅
