In Neuvillettes intro ( on the Genshin website by the Offical account ) it says “he who looks down on all who are haughty” referring to a bible verse about Leviathan who is depicted as a sea serpent or sea dragon. Fun fact, the Leviathan is also named as “The King of all Sea life.”
It would make more sense for Kokomi to be more related to Orobashi instead of the Hydro Dragon. Her constellation is similar to Watasumi Islands shape that Orobashi made. She is a reluctant leader just like Orobashi, but she tries her best anyways for the people that chose her. Plus, she wasnt allowed in Enkanomiya, maybe because of possible danger due to being so similar to Orobashi that the vishaps might see as a MAJOR threat. With Genshin's themes of samsaras and things repeating in slightly different ways, Kokomi being related to Orobashi instead of the Hydro Dragon just makes more sense.
@@mbuhhh3605 This would make so much sense though, two sides of the scale, a justice scale (the oratrice) has two sides. Sad kokomi noises, also I just noticed we didn't get electro dragon in inazuma so we still lack electro pyro and cryo sovereigns and aloy is a descender, by definition, unfortunately.
Apep previously mentioned that there are other dragon sovereigns who resided with the Gods and humans. Considering that the game always tease or give clues regarding future events, I firmly believe that Neuvillete really is the Hydro dragon sovereign.
Aw man, I love the deep dive into the Genshin's dragons! I feel like often they're a bit overlooked by genshin lore channels, which makes sense, since we know so little of them. Buuut the connections to the gnosic myths and Noah's Arc are very much compelling, and I'm glad you have them the much needed spotlight, in turn giving much more possibilities and context to the lore of the seven Sovereigns, which in turn makes them oh so much more interesting. Also, this really makes me hyped for Neuvilette's story, especially giving his alleged power and the possible lack of a vision (and also the eyes, but there are characters like Baizhu who also have snake-ish pupils without much depth into it) I mean, either that or he's connected to the Fontaine Otters but who really knows at this point- Also also, i know that people have different opinions on that, but all the AI art is killing me ;w; Don't get me wrong, I know that finding enough background footage for a 40+ minute video is though, but it just feels.. uncanny Plus, there are many of artists' interpretations of the gnostic and biblical myths. Maybe not so with the sovereigns, since they are still niche characters in the story of genshin, but it's not like there isnt big dragon artwork on the internet. As i said, I know it is some extra work, but i think it's worth it. Aaand I Imagine that as long as you credit the artists, like putting their name in the corner of the video, nobody will complain about it really Buut still, I loved the video nonetheless, and well, I wish you all the best ^^ (and apologies for my little rant there-)
I recommend tales of teyvat podcast for deep dives of very specific things that also bring up these smaller parts of the big picture to put things in to context they're very good about it and being fun and silly at the same time . They also post an artist of the week on there lil website if you wanna see fan art with sources
About Dvalin, from what I recall the traveller can/could ask Apep about him and the reply is something about Dvalin being a young fool that follows the new order of the heavens instead of oposing it like the older ones like Apep. I can possibly see 2 things from this, 1 Dvalin is very young (dragon wise) and 2 Dvalin following Venti as one of the 4 winds is seemingly viewed by Apep as something he did as a idotic youthful thing, almost as if Dvalin doesn't have much living experience (dragon wise) most likely due to him being so young and there not being that many dragons left to teach him, so Dvalin just joined the first friend he made. Also the danger Apep poses is from the dendro power Apep has stored over the years, most likely it was Apep's way of trying to get stronger to fight the heavenly order, Nahida mentioned that Apep consumed dendro power to grow, and probably continued doing do after getting hurt/changing/adapting to the desert (going from green to brown) and the hurt being due to as Apep mentioned the nail falling from the heavens (can't recall if hit Apep directly or the impact explosion created a shock wave that hurt Apep into hiding. Zhonglic's dragon from could just be another from he made, just like his other ones he's had when he wants to walk amoung humans, as the archon he could have wanted to look powerful and thus took the form of a dragon, Keqing mentions that during the last time he made an decent he joined them at a table and feasted on food, sounds human like, this is also where she first questioned his divine rule as the archon and he lauged at her and told a joke about it, he most likely took a dragon from on traveling between realms and changed to a humanoid one to walk and talk with the humans in Liyue.
41:40 what do you mean we haven’t seen Neuvillette with a cane? The trailer footage you used literally shows him pounding his cane into the ground. Lol
I loved this video so much ❤ I just wanted to out up a couple other possible sovereign dragons up for debate. There's "lore" that there was another dragon in Liyue who's "body" can be found in Qingce. I believe the quest was Chi of Guyun it might have been changed I completed it years ago now so my memory is fuzzy. [Spoilers for 4.0 ahead cX] Also, there's an island named Elynas in Fontaine that has us complete a quest related to the Melusines where we find out the "father" of the Melusines is "Elynas". The island is similar to Yashiori & has a giant skeleton visible. From the dialogue in the quest I would not be surprised if "Elynas" was the hydro sovereign.
Thank you for the heads up! I had forgotten about the Chi of Yore. I do plan to spend some time with all the updates 4.0 has provided and release an update to this video. So I really appreciate the heads up on where to look next!
I'm pretty sure the geo sovereign is Azhdaha. He had lived longer than ZL and ZL even said that at full strength he would still not have an easy time with Azhdaha. And we all know the sovereigns strength are on par with the archons.
Another thing about the dragons is that the HMC has a power thats close nuevilettes, the balls. I think all the power the MC has are actually the power of the dragons, look at AMC he cast a tornado and devalin is able to summon a tornado
27:19 All we know from the story quest is that according to Zhong Li said that most Geo life forms in Teyvat and I quote are blind because they had been in the dark for a long time; And that he bestowed it with a pair of eyes; which might mean that he restored his vision using elemental energy; and since dragons are subject to erosion; he might have forgotten that he had sight in the first place
In the archon quest navia said tht u dont understand human emotions nuvellette and also i notice tht he said "humans" before marcel is goin to the fountain so i confirmed tht he is the hydro dragon and also it rains in fontain when he cries/sad and im very sad abt tht also lol but hes my fav character
I absolutely enjoyed listening to this while playing the game I gotta say a lot of the base lines you set for a lot of the story are so much more unique to the ones I'm used to hearing so far from other content creators. I'm looking forward to more longer form videos! Amazing work!
Very interesting! I hope we get more lore drops in upcoming patches, I'd love to know more about the dragons. (On the topic of the video itself however, I must point out that the use of AI imagery just completely took me out. The amount of times I realised I'd missed what you said because I was focused on the uncanny valley of it all and how the fingers transformed into thumbs was a lot. For future videos I'd suggest using real imagery more often :) )
During the ruling and giving the final verdict in the archon quest I saw Neuvillette with a cane standing up. And after doing the quest Im leaning towards the direction that he is the hydro dragon
This is my first video I've watched of yours! Really keen to see more! I did watch this video in two sittings, if that helps. Really appreciated the chapter break down!
Zhongli 6th constellation refers to a spirit of gold, which was a child of Zeus, paired with what you said and the “demoted prince” thing I’ve heard of in the past, I’m starting to wonder if he is directly related to 1st Celestia or something else. Descender definitely and it could relate to that quest where he says he tried recording history in stone and now passes the memory of Teyvat unto traveler(or sth like that). Wouldn’t be surprised if they’d be related either. Who knows, but sometimes he gave me emperor vibes and he could originally represent the yellow dragon(given he had a golden form which he gave to humans) and the yellow dragon is also representing the emperor/center of the cardinal point, and looking at Azdaha seal on the ground and his back symbol on his coat it could be both the cardinal point with center but the back symbol representation also looks like the Norse symbol of Gungnir, Odis’s spear or another name for Gungnir, “spear of heaven”, which makes me think of the legend of halberd and irmin;sometimes I thought maybe he relates to pangu(also born of an egg like phanes so I’m implying something but I don’t have much basis on it except for his constellation), honestly he just gives me son of god vibes from all these things, but that’s just my obscure theory; don’t know if the archons follow the real ones, there’s a virtue versus sin about them and I know there’s a version of Tower of Babel with archons not accepting humans ruling themselves and so they destroyed it, and that doesn’t sound like the archons of Genshin, considering venti and Zhongli, but they also seem to have a slight link to the 7 enka children story(sometimes they do feel like some children puppets placed to rule at convenience, ignorant of some things), but idk man Zhongli is a mystery and I hope we can one day find out where who and what about him. Definitely agree Traveler be the savior, but seems archons like venti and Zhongli might know and maybe do try helping, they don’t seem to have any I’ll intent towards the traveler. Also, the story of Noah and being saved is very similar to the Sumerian myth of Enki and Enlil, the two sons of An, where enlil wanted to drown humanity(and he did and all the gods later felt sorry i think), but a man survived with making a boat because Enki warned him about the flood. A lot to unpack in there more than I can write. Sumerian lore is vast and full of….let’s call it crazy stuff(Gilgamesh and Ishtar should probably be the more famous story). They are also called fallen ones though. But I think genshin might have touched upon some Sumerian lore too here and there. And definitely feeling Kokomi could be the hydro sovereign. at least from her hints. there's a new side quest in Fontaine with an artist Melusine though, that seems to point to another hydro vishap, not sure if sovereign, but she tells a few interesting things. Loved the video❤
Neuvi is definitely the Hydro Sovereign not Kokomi. The whole 2 Archon Quests literally provided hints, and just by the prophecy alone in Enkanomiya that the reincarnation uses a cane, Neuvi is the Hydro Sovereign.
Yes that.... And with how old he is, are when his early day theres another mix-dragon as himself. Or he just a special case. And are the Sovereign a pure race dragon (western &/ eastern).
People are saying that he doesn’t have understanding about Humans. Remember when he was questioning what makes Humans have the instinct to live, but he was proven wrong when meeting Vacher. He has to be a dragon. Then again it could be just a simple thing
All I know for sure is that according to the melusine outside the opera, Neuvillette is hundreds of years old, so if he's not the hydro dragon described in the book from enkanomiya he mist be some kind of other creature. "Though we haven't seen Neuvillette with a cane" literally a few seconds before in the video 41:32 he stamps his cane on the ground. Also, I appreciate the attempt to have something for the gnostic stuff in the background, but I hate that it's AI art.
Very well researched in regards to the underlying mythology. I have a few points that may be of interest and worth further investigation. - I believe the Primordial One is supposed to represent the concept of the Monad in Gnosticism. This would be the most logical assumption, if the Sovereigns are indeed meant to be the Aeons. The question is more of which character is based on Ialdabaoth, the Demiurge. - While the theme of emanation is central to Gnosticism, the Decenscion is an allusion to Christ. The reason I am confident in this assertion is due to the Traveler having a sibling. Look into the Gospel of Thomas and the Jesus twin theory. - The concept of Primordial Albedo is a reference to Adam Kadmon from esoteric Jewish tradition. Prior to the creation of physical man, God created what is essentially the spiritual archetype of man. When it states in Genesis that God created man in his own image it has a dual meaning. The earthly Adam was modeled after the Spirit of Man - which was made in the likeness of God. - Paracelsus' theories on homunculi are largely based on the work of Jabir ibn Hayan. The Arabic term for bio-alchemy and the creation of life is "takwin".
you’re a really talented video creator but i have to admit that the ai art makes me uncomfortable too ;; it’s your channel and your choice but i’d so much rather just see in-game footage or credited artwork by real artists
I remember a quest in Inazume, where they talk about the one that sleeps under the islands,as a warning no to wake it up. Could it be the electro dragon?
It must not be fun trying to make sense of this games garbled mess of a story, Genuinely great work. Its somehow painfully color by numbers whilst also being cacophonous to an existentially threatening extent.
With Durin, I believe the name "Humus" is actually referring to soil. Specifically the organic part made up of decomposed leaves, bark, etc. It would make sense if he was used to dispose Rhinedottir's failed creations... It also matches with Albedo being referred to as Chalk. Which according to Albedo's lore entries, "soil" and "chalk" are involved in the creation of life, specifically human life.
this is such a great analysis i really love it, i don’t like the theory that neuvi is the hydro dragon since i’m so used to kiko being the hydro sovereigns
@@orishahari doubt Elynas is a creation of Rhinedottir, I think the game is setting up Elynas to be Neuvillette’s past life since it’s implied that the hydro dragon was the paternal origin of the Melusines and Melusines often refer to Elynas *and* Neuvillette as ‘father’.
Ok but can someone please explain to me why we think Primordial Albedo is alive? After Albedo tells us that he needs to kill Pri-Albedo otherwise he will continue to come back, the video shows (our) Albado brandishing his sword in his cave before moving out to take out primordial Albedo in the sort of 'him or me' scenario he set up. Later we see our Albedo back in Monstad joking about maybe not being the real one - but it turns out he definitely is. This joke only works because the Traveler and Paimon knows what he set out to do and the idea that pri-Albedo might have been the one to come out on top. What part of this scenario suggests that Pri-Albedo is still alive?? Is there a later part that I missed?
I want to know who or what is the pet for hydro archon? It seems neuvilette is totally another party/the governing party of fontaine and not furina pet.
If you mean a familiar then perhaps none, the oceanids were Egeria's familiars but they all left 😂 That sucks i wonder how focalors felt when the oceanids just dipped on her.
to all the "invisibility" topic. Remember that during the whole Fontaine mission, Paymon keeps having misterious events " i did not drink my fonta! why did it dissapear?" " i did not eat my Macaron! I Promise! it's ok, just bake some more".
Ok that is great and all but.... How does the sustainer of heavenly principles fit into all of this. Nahida said that "the entity which calles itself the heavenly principales is the first descender" so is the sustainer the primordial one or is she one of the four shades of the primordial one or is she something else completely different. We know that her demon name is asmodeus and the distraction of the civilization with in the chasm might have been her doing bur that is it.
@@PoisonVision22A while back, I heard a theory about two archons governing the justice of Fontaine, one for the poorly treated and one for the rest of the nation, I think Neuvileete and Foçalor are two sides of the same coin, and I think with the way they act presently shows that, Neuvilette always follows the law but he is in fact still has sympathy and shown signs of remorse for the people he judges, as shown by his interaction with Navia about her father the rain falls like tears or dismay, I haven't played 4.0 yet cuz I have nothing to play it on... Tho have watched some clips here and there But in the trailer, she sounded more interested in the twists of a trial than the fair trial itself.
I think she IS the archon, just not really the one in charge of structuring decisions since Neuvillette does it for her, most likely because he's more experienced than her, or had lived longer even through the previous leadership of Amrita (the previous hydro archon). A melusine also said that Neuvillette had been with the melusines since hundreds of years ago. Furina is more likely to be overwhelmed with her current position after the death of the previous hydro archon, she fits the bill of a "young girl who's forced to bear a position above her capabilities with her own people pressuring on her"
IMHO as Genshin's lore is confusing enough using the unreliable narrator method It'll be more helpful for the vid to only talk about Genshin lore and avoid explaining "similarities/comparisons" with other lores and it blurs the line of the narrative and at times it's confusing for most ppl to try to understand is this part about Genshin or other Lores It's a really good video and I really liked it just thought that if u can make it more palatable it'll reach a wid3r audience
I wanted to give you a like for a nice lore video but the AI pictures made me reconsider. It's not fine to use something that rips off artists in your video.
Now, I myself can't really bring insights to the lore. But I can bring speculations. While, as an avid DnD player, I'd love to claim that the Hydro sovereign's name is Tarasque, the appearance of Tarasque is very different from the (leaked) appearance of Neuvillette constellation. Other prominent dragons of French mythology include Peluda which suffers from the same problem as Tarasque: body structure, Gargouille and Graoully. Then again, Azhdaha proves that body composition might be irrelevant, and the hydro dragon/Neuvillette really is Tarasque The Cryo Sovereign's gotta be Zmei Gorynych
It's a good way for me to add visuals for the non-Genshin topics without using artwork against a creator's wishes, but if it bugs enough people I can look into alternatives.
@@PoisonVision22 truthfully it doesn’t look good and it has very questionable ethics. It makes me uncomfortable but if you stick with it that’s fine I’ll just head elsewhere (respectfully)
@@robertothebasedrobertoai created images are based upon references taken from the internet, usually without professional and independent artists' consent, in order to teach the machine how to draw. It's essentially art theft... Not to mention they're usually free. We're already underpaid and devalued by default, and free "Nice images" only make things harder for us.
@PoisonVision22 from an artist: Please look into alternatives. It's not like there aren't other free ones: you can literally just screencap a standing genshin character of your choice, like Ashikai and Silicon do. If you really want to use images: Please commission artists and properly credit them. Alternatively, you can use continue using images from books and Wikipedia. Don't forget to credit them. The theory that Kokomi is the hydro dragon goes deeper than that! She is based on Otohime, whom was the water dragons daughter and guarded its palace. Her design is also fishlike which goes along with the old myth that fish, carps specifically, would jump up waterfalls and become dragons. Further, your reasons to "refute" dont really refute the theory at all. She could be the hydro dragon, and still be a ref to the general at the same time. And yes it would be very ironic if she was the hydro dragon with her familys history, but thats good drama! Thats good tea! And it would make more sense since she is closer to the water vishaps. On the hand, as for Neu....There is no tea or drama if he is the dragon. Its not interesting. There is no conflict in that so it would just be boring. He is so far a nice character, I like him...but so far he is very flat. He is kind, but also strict with the law...what does him being a dragon bring? Nothing....He will just feel over powered with no story.
I heavily disagree with your characterization of Neuvilette. We will know more when his character story drops, but so far I see him as an extremely dynamic character- not flat at all. Yes, at surface level he is ‘nice/kind’ and strict with the law. But in reality, we know quite a few things about him (as heavily implied) already that go beyond that. His ‘niceness’ is cordiality. Though he is also kind, his surface appearance of being polite goes along with his obvious comfort in sticking to rules. He seems to value a lawful neutral approach to things in general, which is why he puts so much stock in the law. He himself seems to have rules or assumptions of framework he works from (such as his idea that humans will always prioritize self-survival, for instance) that inform his actions without exception, so his adherence to ‘law’ goes beyond those written in Fontaine’s books. We know he is masquerading as humanoid, but is also semi-open that he is not human (his comment about humans in an othering sort of way on one or two occasions indicates this). He looks down upon them to some degree, perhaps in a pitiable way, but almost certainly as sort of primitive in a way. But he also seems to hold some iota of respect for them (his adherence to the law gives him at least an outward appearing respect for human life). We also know he is probably internally tormented or sorrowful, though. He himself says he is basically not good at expressing himself, which (in our modern terms) almost comes off as neurodivergent (I use this analogy to be relatable to others). But his real emotions are visible in the landscape. Freminet tells us about the story of how when it rains in Fontaine it is because the hydro dragon is weeping. Other than that one time with Freminet, every other time we experience rain (afterward) is in the presence of or immediately following a visit with Neuvilette. When Navia dresses him down about being ultimately responsible for her father’s death, and he reacts with what seems like rehearsed sympathy, appearing cold and emotionless and empty to Navia- it is raining when we leave the government building- implying that, although he did not outwardly express it, the consequences of his actions have caused him suffering internally. It rains again when we see him in the epilogue of the story at the cemetery paying respects to Callas. He comments that his framework of assumptions he approaches humans from has basically buckled to some degree. His belief that they prioritize self-survival has been disproved. He makes such a bypassing comment about it, but I can see this causing a deep rift in his confidence in his own beliefs and causing a lot of internal turmoil as a result. What OTHER decisions has he made that have such consequences, for instance? Is the law perhaps not so absolute? I think Kokomi absolutely has some kind of connection to dragons, but I am no longer in the camp of believing she’s an incarnation of a sovereign. I realized after a lot of thought about it that *that* would feel a bit boring to me. I would like for her and Neuvilette to have, perhaps, some kind of connection or recognition between them- but I do not think she is, nor want her to be, the hydro dragon sovereign. I think Neuvilette, being as old as he is, has plenty of history and dynamics we have not encountered yet. There is a LOT of room for development of his character and history and a lot of room left for drama to either already have happened or to happen moving forward. I can see why you would prefer Kokomi to be the sovereign (irony is definitely a good narrative device!), but I no longer really see it as viable, and I think you’re dismissing the potential for Neuvilette to be an interesting and dynamic character that fits that role with an intended purpose in the narrative.
@@TangledRivers I love this theory crafting going on! It's so eye-opening. I'd like to offer my two cents on Kokomi, as she already has a good narrative device going on for her-- which is also irony. I've always regarded her as the descendant of vishaps that eventually morphed into perfect humans, due to the vishaps' intense hatred for humanity that experimented on them. The vishaps that hated humans so much, had one of their kind rule over those humans and being revered in an ironic twist. That being said, Kokomi shows an abnormal hobby in her story quest that paint her as awfully meticulous and strangely mindboggling to me-- her constant journaling and prediction notes she writes to her army doesn't exactly scream normal in a human sense. It's as if the animal part of her is trying to absorb all the human knowledge she could get her hands on as head priestess and war general despite being so young, in a very uncanny way. Since Neuvilette is sliding in to show his potential, it only makes sense for the current narrative to paint this picture-- Kokomi as the evolutionized vishap (a symbol of the vishaps' revenge and perseverance) representing Enkanomiya and Sangonomiya (a dragon in her own right, as per her constellation), and Neuvilette as the hydro sovereign (who still struggles balancing law and humanity, unlike the likes of Yanfei, Ganyu and Kokomi who is more in touch with their human side). Either way we need more Neuvilette content to find out.
Funny you're saying he's flat when almost every streamers I've watched were saying he's intriguing. Like isn't Kokomi boring and flat too then in terms of character? And we're only at 4.0. Ofc we won't have much detail on his story yet. So how can there be any tea or drama? Furthermore I don't see why would HYV hide his vision and constellation unless it's something really big. They did that for Zhongli iirc by having his vison be ?? before the archon quest and it got changed to gnosis later after we found out who he is. And well judging from leaks, Neuvillette seems to be leaning more to being the hydro dragon, if the archon quests hasn't already convinced ppl of that.
@@amnos180188as open-minded as I wanna be, I agree that Kokomi is a far more flatter character. Neuvi has shown more complexity in two archon quests than Kokomi had in the entirety of Inazuma's arc, wherein im pretty sure the only remarkable thing the story has done for her character was demonstrate how much she's overworked. She also just doesn't give me "hydro dragon" vibes in both design and mannerisms than Neuvi. In any case, I'm interested in where they take Neuvi's character in the remainder of the Fontaine arc^^ hopefully there's a big reveal about what he really is soon enough!
kokomi really is a joke lore wise she never used her big brain in archon quest her only saving grace was her being hydro dragon turned out she is just a stupid fish.
Even if she was the hydro dragon, it would be sorely disappointing as the story never gave her character enough justice to be such a being. When you tell me a character is the reincarnation of the Hydro Dragon, I expect someone regal and effortlessly powerful looking, things Kokomi just don't really live up to imo. Also, current marketing for Neuvi really just leans towards him being the hydro dragon lmao
One month into the future and his constelation does have leviathan in it
And to further push Neuvillette’s identity as the Hydro dragon is how whenever he speaks of people he says it in a way that he himself is not human.
He's been alive for hundreds of years, too.
He's straight forward not human
Im glad genshin is getting more lore theory crafters

Sad kokomi noises, also I just noticed we didn't get electro dragon in inazuma so we still lack electro pyro and cryo sovereigns and aloy is a descender, by definition, unfortunately.
Tbh she could be a ascender
@@yoakleoakleaint nobody ascending that char 😂
Apep previously mentioned that there are other dragon sovereigns who resided with the Gods and humans. Considering that the game always tease or give clues regarding future events, I firmly believe that Neuvillete really is the Hydro dragon sovereign.
When I played the 4.0 archon quest Neuvillettes spoke that he doesn’t understand human emotions and I got the feeling that he is older then we think.
Also, this really makes me hyped for Neuvilette's story, especially giving his alleged power and the possible lack of a vision (and also the eyes, but there are characters like Baizhu who also have snake-ish pupils without much depth into it)
I mean, either that or he's connected to the Fontaine Otters but who really knows at this point-
Also also, i know that people have different opinions on that, but all the AI art is killing me ;w;
Don't get me wrong, I know that finding enough background footage for a 40+ minute video is though, but it just feels.. uncanny
Plus, there are many of artists' interpretations of the gnostic and biblical myths. Maybe not so with the sovereigns, since they are still niche characters in the story of genshin, but it's not like there isnt big dragon artwork on the internet.
As i said, I know it is some extra work, but i think it's worth it.
Aaand I Imagine that as long as you credit the artists, like putting their name in the corner of the video, nobody will complain about it really
Buut still, I loved the video nonetheless, and well, I wish you all the best ^^ (and apologies for my little rant there-)
I recommend tales of teyvat podcast for deep dives of very specific things that also bring up these smaller parts of the big picture to put things in to context they're very good about it and being fun and silly at the same time . They also post an artist of the week on there lil website if you wanna see fan art with sources
Amazing, subscribed even months after. So on point!
It has been confirmed in 4.1 he is the current Hydro dragon
Here's a hint, it rains when he cries.
41:40 what do you mean we haven’t seen Neuvillette with a cane? The trailer footage you used literally shows him pounding his cane into the ground. Lol
10/10 dont stop making these the time care and dedication is obvious. much respect to you for taking your time to produce a product of this quality
ive never heard genshin lore explained so succulently and easy to follow. please keep making video like this
The part with the prophecy about the hydro dragon being a human... That most likely makes neuvillete the dragon since it rains when he crys
This is the kind of analysis I love to watch!
I loved this video so much ❤
I just wanted to out up a couple other possible sovereign dragons up for debate.
There's "lore" that there was another dragon in Liyue who's "body" can be found in Qingce. I believe the quest was Chi of Guyun it might have been changed I completed it years ago now so my memory is fuzzy.
[Spoilers for 4.0 ahead cX]
Also, there's an island named Elynas in Fontaine that has us complete a quest related to the Melusines where we find out the "father" of the Melusines is "Elynas".
I doubt that Elynas was the Hydro Sovereign. He’s more likely to be one of Rhinedottir’s creations like Durin.
Elynas' dialogues to us in the Nice To Meet You realm mentioned a "mother" a number of times. So I highly doubt that he is the sovereign ^^
I'm pretty sure the geo sovereign is Azhdaha. He had lived longer than ZL and ZL even said that at full strength he would still not have an easy time with Azhdaha.
And we all know the sovereigns strength are on par with the archons.
Nah Elynas is a creation of Gold, the "mother", while her brothers are her other creations like Durin.
This actually resonate so much with Neuvillette character woa
Another thing about the dragons is that the HMC has a power thats close nuevilettes, the balls. I think all the power the MC has are actually the power of the dragons, look at AMC he cast a tornado and devalin is able to summon a tornado
I really like the way you explain the lore and how you articulate things. Keep up the good work 💞🫡
One vote for longer-form content, here. Loved the video, and looking forward to more!
Loved this video! The sovereigns are so interesting to me and I'm super curious who they're going to be
In the archon quest navia said tht u dont understand human emotions nuvellette and also i notice tht he said "humans" before marcel is goin to the fountain so i confirmed tht he is the hydro dragon and also it rains in fontain when he cries/sad and im very sad abt tht also lol but hes my fav character
I absolutely enjoyed listening to this while playing the game
I gotta say a lot of the base lines you set for a lot of the story are so much more unique to the ones I'm used to hearing so far from other content creators.
For future videos I'd suggest using real imagery more often :) )
u have the most relaxing voice in the world omfg! genuine compliment
So underated omg this is so interesting
Imagine if Zhongli, Yaemiko, Nahida, and Nuevilette team up against strong enemies that will be so epic and iconic😎😁
In ""Luminous Glimmer" Commemorative Trailer | Genshin Impact", Enjou said Dvalin is indeed a vishap.
Damn this video is EXTREMELY well made
now you will need to make a video about how elynas in fontaine could be a brother of durin :o
I love this so much!! Deep dives like this are my favourite, thank you
Zhongli 6th constellation refers to a spirit of gold, which was a child of Zeus, paired with what you said and the “demoted prince” thing I’ve heard of in the past, I’m starting to wonder if he is directly related to 1st Celestia or something else.
The whole 2 Archon Quests literally provided hints, and just by the prophecy alone in Enkanomiya that the reincarnation uses a cane, Neuvi is the Hydro Sovereign.
yeah he is hydro dragon....while playing archon quest
I'm still curious how zhongli parents met... i mean he's half dragon half qilin...
Ryan for making this video. Love love love the longer content❤️☺️
All I know for sure is that according to the melusine outside the opera, Neuvillette is hundreds of years old, so if he's not the hydro dragon described in the book from enkanomiya he mist be some kind of other creature.
"Though we haven't seen Neuvillette with a cane"
literally a few seconds before in the video 41:32 he stamps his cane on the ground.
So happy to be one of your first hundred subs! Keep it going! Loved the video! Im thirsty for Genshin theories and lore!! (I skip the dialogue lmao)
id love more content like this it was amazing
Wasn't there a genshin trailer where Enjou specifically calls Dvalin a Vishap while giving a report to the abyss sibling?
Love these kind of videos, keep it up
Liking and subscribing because of this video. My favorite type of content.
I remember a quest in Inazume, where they talk about the one that sleeps under the islands,as a warning no to wake it up. Could it be the electro dragon?
This was such a great video! I can't wait to see more ♡
like the video :D the ai dwarfs gave jump scares tho :,)
Welllll I had to subscribe because none of my lore people are posting new dragon videos and I need to theory craft with people lol
It must not be fun trying to make sense of this games garbled mess of a story, Genuinely great work. Its somehow painfully color by numbers whilst also being cacophonous to an existentially threatening extent.
I love long videos and this one is awesome. ^_^
I think it's really cool how this game uses biblical texts.
2:22
I didn't want to see the horses doing that :(
2:24 Did anyone else noticed that too? 😂
I love your voice
this is such a great analysis i really love it, i don’t like the theory that neuvi is the hydro dragon since i’m so used to kiko being the hydro sovereigns
Funny part is genesis also says 150 days for the flood, but I think genshin is going off the first one.
It is said that dragons shape our real world. Their bodies are everywhere. People call them dinosaurs but that's just an euphemism for dragons.
hi posion vision good video well done sleep well
Two horses getting it on
If you don’t mind me asking, what do you think of Elynas? Could he be related to a dragon?
most likely one of gold’s creations, like durin
@@orishahari doubt Elynas is a creation of Rhinedottir, I think the game is setting up Elynas to be Neuvillette’s past life since it’s implied that the hydro dragon was the paternal origin of the Melusines and Melusines often refer to Elynas *and* Neuvillette as ‘father’.
also that prophecy implying the hydro dragon would be reborn in a humanoid form
If you mean a familiar then perhaps none, the oceanids were Egeria's familiars but they all left 😂
That sucks i wonder how focalors felt when the oceanids just dipped on her.
If Neuvillettes becomes a playable character 🤭 I’ll end up homeless
He's coming in 4.1
to all the "invisibility" topic. Remember that during the whole Fontaine mission, Paymon keeps having misterious events " i did not drink my fonta! why did it dissapear?" " i did not eat my Macaron! I Promise! it's ok, just bake some more".
Did you finish act 2? You will find the answer
ty ty ty ty ty ty
Ok that is great and all but....
How does the sustainer of heavenly principles fit into all of this.
Nahida said that "the entity which calles itself the heavenly principales is the first descender" so is the sustainer the primordial one or is she one of the four shades of the primordial one or is she something else completely different.
We know that her demon name is asmodeus and the distraction of the civilization with in the chasm might have been her doing bur that is it.
are you using ai generated images? i believe this videos would be better without those! nice theory btw
Ur telling me a powerful being was trapped in a smaller form when their artifacts got taken...
Sounds like Paimon 👀
Paimon is Dragon King 👀
Us in us in 4.3 be like 😂😂😂
I think Neuvilette is more like a reincarnation than a descender or like Zhongli case, had a dragon form but became human
I would like your content a lot more if it didn't rely on AI 'art'
I think Furina is a fake archon. And that Neuvillettes might be the actual dragon.
I have a similar feeling.
Tho have watched some clips here and there
But in the trailer, she sounded more interested in the twists of a trial than the fair trial itself.
Furina is more likely to be overwhelmed with her current position after the death of the previous hydro archon, she fits the bill of a "young girl who's forced to bear a position above her capabilities with her own people pressuring on her"
How did you get to that theory? Is it because of the Focalor folklore?
great video but the ai generated images really make it hard to enjoy fully. why not just use footage/images from genshin as visuals?
IMHO as Genshin's lore is confusing enough using the unreliable narrator method
It'll be more helpful for the vid to only talk about Genshin lore and avoid explaining "similarities/comparisons" with other lores and it blurs the line of the narrative and at times it's confusing for most ppl to try to understand is this part about Genshin or other Lores
It's a really good video and I really liked it just thought that if u can make it more palatable it'll reach a wid3r audience
Bro there is a horse having sex in the noahs ark pic
Kokomi theory is now dead lmao
the ai generated gnomes are so funny
❤❤❤
The fraudragons
Context?
Nah he a hydro bird
I wanted to give you a like for a nice lore video but the AI pictures made me reconsider. It's not fine to use something that rips off artists in your video.
are you legit using AI art?? ugh
Dragon deez
Now, I myself can't really bring insights to the lore. But I can bring speculations. While, as an avid DnD player, I'd love to claim that the Hydro sovereign's name is Tarasque, the appearance of Tarasque is very different from the (leaked) appearance of Neuvillette constellation. Other prominent dragons of French mythology include Peluda which suffers from the same problem as Tarasque: body structure, Gargouille and Graoully. Then again, Azhdaha proves that body composition might be irrelevant, and the hydro dragon/Neuvillette really is Tarasque
The Cryo Sovereign's gotta be Zmei Gorynych
Love this vid, just so many mouth noises 😖
I don’t like all the ai art…
It's a good way for me to add visuals for the non-Genshin topics without using artwork against a creator's wishes, but if it bugs enough people I can look into alternatives.
I dont think it's a problem at all
@@PoisonVision22 truthfully it doesn’t look good and it has very questionable ethics.
Meanwhile most artists are forced to commission works that take them hours to make for 20$ if they wanna build a portfolio and have any hope of finding a stable job.
I left this video playing on the background because I enjoyed your theory crafting. However, if this is the only solution you can arrive to, I'll be unable to support you and unsub. AI generated images literally take the work of my people. I haven't had a job since covıd began. We're already starving enough as a working class as is.
Edit: in sum, ai generated images are art theft at its core and hurts our class. Their very core algorithm already uses artwork against a creator's wishes, so if this is what you needed to hear to motivate you, then I hope it's the catalyst for your change.
Something about your voice... I guess not enunciated enough?
It doesn't stick in my mind without alot of concentration.
In any case, I'm interested in where they take Neuvi's character in the remainder of the Fontaine arc^^ hopefully there's a big reveal about what he really is soon enough!
seems biased tbh. have you played the archon quest be honest because you're being very wrong about neuvillette.
kokomi really is a joke lore wise she never used her big brain in archon quest her only saving grace was her being hydro dragon turned out she is just a stupid fish.
